This is a great activity for anyone wishing to learn more about how a Boulanger works behind the scenes and get engaged in the baking process. We got to work on baguettes, bread, financier, and croissants! The best part was the guide, who was very engaging and enthusiastic to teach. 10/10

Amazing experience!! I was the only person taking this class and I loved it! I learned so much about French baking techniques and can’t wait to try it at home. A must do if you’re in Montmarte!

Response from Host, Feb 2026

It’s wonderful that you had such a great solo experience! We’re glad you learned so much about French baking techniques and are excited to try them at home. Montmartre is definitely the perfect place for this class!

trixiegraves, Feb 2026
The instructor was not prepared and talked too much about other things than baking. The class was held in a below floor space way too small and had no bathroom facilities. We were supposed to bake three pastries but only had time for two. This class was not worth the $120 we paid for it. I would int recommend it.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the experience did not meet your expectations. The tour started slightly earlier than usual, and the restroom was temporarily unavailable due to a technical issue. Our guide, David, shared the history of bread and the bakery as part of the two-hour session, which is normally well-received, though we understand some guests prefer more hands-on practice. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration to improve future experiences.

Great lesson in the history of French Baking.

Cheryl_R, Jan 2026
David shared such wonderful history about the Baguette, Financier, and the croissant. He was super patient with letting me ask many questions and he took the time to answer them all. You will get covered with flour, so should wear layers, with a short sleeve shirt underneath. This is a working bakery, which is advertised as a plus, as opposed to taking a class in a school. It is fascinating to learn about the history of this particular bakery and how it operates. The downside, of being in this setting, is that the baking area is quite small. Fortunately, my husband and I were the only two taking the class. I am very thankful that it was not cancelled! Honestly, I cannot imagine how the area can fit 8 people, with each being able to get "hands on" experience. Speaking of hands on. Note that this is a working bakery that turns out 600 baguettes each day. The dough we use has already been mixed and kneaded and proofed. So, you will not learn how to knead dough. You will learn how to shape the baguette and the croissant. We did actually make the financier! And they were delicious! As was the hot baguettes, fresh from the oven. Since it was the two of us, we had the very good fortune of leaving with a bag of financiers and baguettes! Although they almost didn't make it to the metro station lol

Response from Host, Jan 2026

We’re thrilled to hear you and your husband had such a hands-on and memorable experience! It’s great that you enjoyed shaping the baguettes and croissants, and that the financiers turned out delicious. We’re glad the small class size allowed for a more personal and interactive experience, and that you got to take home some treats too—sounds like a fun adventure getting them safely to the metro!

Craig_W, Jan 2026
A very confusing experience . Although communication was good - the timing and locations changed effecting our plans immensely After notification on booking and emails the host had no idea of my allergy needs The experience began 20 mins late with no explanation The host was lovely but I’m glad her “friends will eat well tonight “ as my family couldn’t take The products they made or paid for If you are expecting tasting at the bakery - you will- it is just a small piece of a baguette cooked previously

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Dear Craig, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that the timing changes and dietary concerns impacted your experience. While we strive to accommodate all allergies, French pastry traditionally relies heavily on almond flour. We apologize that the coconut alternative prepared specifically for you was not to your taste, and that the bakery visit did not meet your expectations regarding the tastings. We will address this with our team to ensure better punctuality and communication. We appreciate your honesty as it helps us improve our guest relations.

Super fun experience!
