It was so much fun. The instructor was excellent and so knowledgeable. The kids enjoyed it as much as I did. The only thing was that the location was hard to find.

Lacking Luster and Hands on Experience

Susan_B, Jan 2026
My 10 year old daughter and I took this class and it was mediocre to say the least. The pastry chef mostly demonstrated as we observed. We took turns squeezing the shell out of a premixed bag as a group. For our own macarons, the shells were premade and we mixed the filling with pre-measured ingredients. Overall, the class was a bit boring. However, don’t miss Galleries Lafayette with great shopping, its amazing stained glass roof, incredible rooftop sign and amazing view.

Macaroon Experience with Kids

Stephanie_E, Mar 2025
This experience was just OK. Kids made filling for macaroon. A lot of class was observing vs. doing! We enjoyed other activities at Gallery Lafayette after class - glass walk, rooftop, and souvenir shopping on the 7th floor!

Paying to supervise your child

Amyjcruz, Dec 2024
The instructor was just ok, definitely does not specialize in children and this is not a child specific class. This was expensive for what it was- they do not even offer a separate set of macarons for the parent(s), so paying $60 per adult to supervise your own child for an hour while they mix butter for 10 minutes is absolutely excessive. $150 for 6 mediocre macarons - not worth it.

Amazing!

A highlight of our trip! The chef was amazing. Great with the kids and made everything look easy. Our macarons were better than Laduree!

Just ok

Lisa_R, Sep 2024
We attended the class as a family of four. The instructor demonstrated making the exterior of a macaron and offered guests a chance to pipe one shell. Then we were supplied with previously cooked shells and we were able to mix a few ingredients to make the filling for two types of macarons. My children seemed to enjoy it. I thought it was too expensive for not making the whole macaron.

Fun Cooking Class for families

Brandy_V, May 2024
We attended this class with 2 adults and 3 kids. It was a perfect introduction to making macarons. The instructor was very knowledgeable and great with the kids.

Backing class with no baking

Belinda_b, Apr 2024
There is no baking in this class it’s watching, with pre/backed macarons. All we did was mix. We attended class at the end of the day at 5pm. We felt the instructor did not want to be there. I’m sure there are more authentic and interactive classes around.

Didn't get services paid for

Kate_M, Apr 2024
Bought 4 tickets, 2 adults, 2 children, and only the 2 kids were allowed to participate. I asked twice for 4 place settings and was told no, so we'll be charging a portion of this back to our credit card as we didn't receive the services paid for. In addition, the woman's English was not great and she was very soft spoken, made it nearly impossible to understand her. Overall very disappointing

Excellent

What a fun experience for our whole family. Very glad we took time to do this and we learned how to make macarons at home!

Nom nom nom

Instructor was very knowledgeable and good with the children. Appreciated all of her tips, tips that I'll apply to baking overall.

More a demonstration than a workshop

Crina_B, Aug 2023
The workshop is not really a workshop, it's more like a demostration of how to make the macaron meringue. The girl who runs it is lovely, but the experience in itself - we thought - is not really worth the money. The hands-on experience is mixing the filling and filling up 2 macarons each. My daughter thought it was dissapointing that for 2 people (1 adult and 1 child) we got 8 round cookies, so basically 4 macarons. We wrongly thought that a macaron contains both cookies :). The good thing is that we got the receipe.

Wonderful presentation wonderful baker. Thought she spoke more french than necessary as it was an English class. The Quebecers in class likely spoke English. But it was wonderFul

Not worth it

Keri_G, Nov 2022
I was very disappointed with this experience. I purchased eight tickets however, only four people were able to participate. Scam??? And you don’t actually make the macaron you are told how it’s made and you watch her make the dough for the cookie but then she gives you a shell to use so there’s really no cooking involved except for mixing of some butter and sugar for the inside. With that being said it is horrible that I purchased eight tickets and only four people were able to mix the icing. It was a waste of time and money and I do not recommend this experience. I have seen other more expensive ones and they probably are worth the money.

SO much fun!
