Our tour took us to the artist’s home and gardens first thing in the morning, before crowds and heat of the day. Simon our guide and driver was knowledgeable, very personable, and made all persons in our small group of 7 feel welcome. I highly recommend both the tour and Simon!

The house tour felt rushed due to long lines. Our tour guide, Benjamin, was very patient and went above and beyond to help everyone in the group have a good experience.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Dear Guest,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the house tour felt rushed due to the long lines, as we understand how this can affect the overall experience.
We’re very pleased, however, to know that Benjamin made a positive difference during your visit. His patience and dedication to ensuring everyone had a good experience truly reflect the quality of service we strive to provide.
Please know that waiting times can sometimes be unpredictable, but we always do our best to manage them as smoothly as possible. We hope to have the opportunity to offer you a more relaxed experience in the future.
Warm regards,
Alice de France Tourisme

Nice guy, good driver. Inexperienced guide who left us to wander on our own. During the drive, he did answer a few questions from the woman in the front seat, but the rest of us were not able to hear his answers. With a seasoned mentor, he is capable of doing justice to this experience.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Dear Linda,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
We are sorry to hear that your experience did not fully meet your expectations, especially regarding the guidance provided during your tour.
We do appreciate your kind words about the driver, and we also take note of your comments concerning the clarity and engagement of the guide.
Please be assured that all our guides receive thorough training, and situations like the one you describe remain exceptional.
Your feedback is very valuable and helps us continue to improve the quality of our services.
We would be grateful for the opportunity to discuss your experience further and invite you to contact us at info@francetourisme.fr
so we can better assist you.
We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again on one of our experiences, where the commentary is designed to be immersive and accessible to all.
Kind regards,
Alice de France Tourisme

Great to take the early trip because it quickly got crowded. I wish our driver was more experienced and could better advise us. He was very nice but very new. I was finished viewing the Monet grounds and would have loved to gone to the museum there if I knew it existed. That museum has original works, not copies like the house has. There would have been plenty of time for that. Instead I circled thru the house and gardens a second time and walked up to town.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Hello,
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the experience did not fully meet your expectations, especially regarding the level of guidance. We understand your disappointment.
Please note that guided tours are not permitted inside Monet’s house and gardens in Giverny, which is why this experience includes a driver rather than a licensed guide. We regret if this was not clear enough and that you missed the museum visit.
Your comments are very valuable to us. Please feel free to contact us at info@francetourisme.fr
to discuss your experience further.
Kind regards,
Alice de France Tourisme

The day before the scheduled trip we received an email that the company was canceling the trip. We were offered a refund or later trip. We attempted to contact them for a later trip but no one responded. We then cancelled and requested a full refund. Refund granted.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Dear customer,
We are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused by the cancellation of your trip and the difficulty you experienced in reaching us afterwards. This situation does not reflect the quality of service we strive to provide every day.
We are glad that your refund was processed correctly, and we sincerely regret that we could not find a satisfactory alternative for you on this occasion. Please be assured that your feedback is taken very seriously and helps us improve our responsiveness and communication.
We would be delighted to welcome you again soon — perhaps for a day trip to Mont Saint-Michel or a cruise-dinner on the Seine with views of the Eiffel Tower, two of our travelers’ favorite experiences.
Warm regards,
Alice from France Tourisme

Delightful excursion with Simon, our driver, who was witty and navigated through Paris and Normandy well. He pointed out sights, and gave us some local flavor of the area and the French people in general.

Both offer unforgettable experiences in a completely different atmosphere.
We hope to see you again very soon for another beautiful journey with us!

Awesome little tour with Serge, who has been touring for 25yrs. He was a pleasure to listen too and got us in and through around the massive tours. Worth every penny. His knowledge of the countryside and Monets first home and town was such a plus. My child loved his energy.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We’re thrilled to hear that you and your child enjoyed the visit to Giverny with Serge — his long experience and passion truly make a difference, and it’s a pleasure to know that his energy and knowledge added so much to your day.
For your next discovery, I recommend our excursion to Mont Saint-Michel, a breathtaking site full of history, or a Moulin Rouge evening with champagne, for a sparkling Parisian night out.
We look forward to welcoming you again soon,
Alice de France Tourisme

Giverny has beautiful gardens and house. Until the cruise tours left, it was way to crowded. Because the minimum review required 100 characters, so I had to add this sentence.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Thank you for sharing your impressions of your visit to Giverny. We are delighted that you enjoyed the beauty of Monet’s house and gardens, which are indeed a unique experience. We understand your feeling about the crowds; Giverny is a very popular destination, especially during peak times.
We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again soon, perhaps on one of our more tranquil excursions such as a day trip to the Châteaux of the Loire or to Mont Saint Michel, for a different but equally inspiring discovery.
Warm regards,
Alice de France Tourisme

Learned much about Claude Monet and his life at Giverny. Plus, lingering throughout the exquisite gardens was a sensory treat! Our guide, Roland, was a rich source of information (Monet, Paris, villages en route) which was much appreciated!

If you come during summer time, it gets very hoy and humid, so plan your outfit accordingly. Otherwise, the experience was simply perfect and dreamy! You really see Monet's painting come alive before your eyes. I never thought it could be such a wonderful place, highly recomended!!
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Dear Diana,
Thank you so much for your lovely message! We’re thrilled to know that Giverny brought Monet’s art to life for you — it truly is a magical place.
Thank you also for your thoughtful tip about summer weather — very helpful for future visitors! We’d love to welcome you again, maybe for a Loire Valley castles tour or a Seine dinner cruise.
Warm regards,
Alice de France Tourisme

Monet's home and gardens were magnificent.
The trip there, however, was awful. Either the van did not have working air conditioning or the driver did not know how to properly use it. We had to drive with the windows open and it was over 90 degrees that day.
In addition, the traffic was horrific. The website stated 1 hour 20 minutes each way. It was over 2 hours there and over 1 hour 30 minutes back. We could not stay longer in Giverny because one passenger had a 7:30 appointment. This was certainly not the fault of the travel service, but I would advise everyone to book the morning trip when the traffic is not quite so bad.
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Dear guest,
Thank you for your honest feedback. While we’re glad to hear you enjoyed the beauty of Monet’s home and gardens, we’re sorry the travel conditions did not meet your expectations.
We’ve noted your comment regarding the air conditioning. All our vehicles are equipped and maintained for passenger comfort, and our guides are trained professionals who know how to operate them correctly.
As for the traffic, it is unfortunately beyond our control, especially during peak travel times, but we always do our best to optimize travel conditions.
We hope you’ll consider joining us again in the future for a more comfortable experience.
Kind regards,
Alice de France Tourisme

We had a really great driver/guide in Filipe - great sense if humour and talked just the right amount about Monet on the drive. Arrived exactly at 8 am and got to Giverny at 9:30. He took us in and gave us the tickets and took us to the ponds. Arranged to meet at 11:10 outside. After he walked us to the church where Monet is buried. Back at drop off point at 13:10. Terrific service. Giverny was very crowded. Line to enter the house so long we did not try. Women’s toilet line equally long. Gardens and ponds lovely but again crowded with tour groups. Need to understand that after allowing for 1 1/2 hrs each way travel, you have only 2 hrs at Giverny to see the house and gardens. This suited us, but crowding could mean you will not have enough time to see all you want. Worth the visit but be aware of the time constraint.
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Dear Garry_C,
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughtful feedback. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the service provided by Filipe—his humour and care clearly made a positive impact on your visit to Giverny.
Giverny is indeed a beloved destination, and we designed this tour to help guests make the most of their time in such a unique and inspiring place.
We’d love to welcome you again—perhaps on a more relaxed day-long experience like our Loire Valley Castles tour, or a scenic 2.5-hour cruise through the Seine and Canal Saint-Martin, offering a calmer way to enjoy the beauty of France.
Kind regards,
Alice de France Tourisme
Dorit_T, Apr 2025
the place is magical! Our guide was nice although he did not come into the visit with us but gave us good info.
Response from Host, May 2025
Hi Dorit,
Thank you for your review and your kind comment, which I will pass on to the team and to our guide.
We are delighted that you enjoyed your visit to Giverny. This tour is quite famous as it takes you to discover the Monet's "world" and his passion about botany and paint.
If you are still in Paris or plan to come back, I recommend a guided tour of the Louvre, this wonderful museum is the largest museum in the world and a must see in Paris.
You can also try our guided cruise on the Seine to discover Paris from a different angle!
Thank you again for your confidence,
Have a nice day.

We had an international group of 8 on our weekday drive from Paris to Giverny. Our guide/driver spoke English and of course French and perhaps Spanish. I was delighted to see what a safe driver he was despite heavy traffic getting out of Paris. Monet’s home and gardens were an absolute delight! Our timing was perfect to experience the tulips and many other early spring flowers in all their glory. The lovely lake created by Monet did not yet have lily pads blooming but still offered colorful bushes and trees.
Response from Host, Apr 2025

It was terrible. We had prepaid reservations for several weeks ahead of the date and the afternoon before our tour date the tour operator cancelled.
Very poor service.

I booked this 1/2 day tour the night before. I got the confirmation, got up early and spent 25 euros to get to the pickup point at 8:00 AM. By 8:30, the driver had not arrived. I was able to speak to a nice representative of France Tourisme, who said, "I don't know why they took your money. There is no tour on Saturday morning." She kindly arranged for a refund. I will try again next time. But maybe not with Viator.
Response from Host, Oct 2024
Bonjour, we are so sorry to read about your experience and we appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention.
We will share your message with our customer service team in order to understand what happened and make sure it does not happen again. We are so sorry for the inconvenience and hope we can make it up to you on your next Parisian trip with a perfect getaway in France!

Traffic in Paris meant a 2hr 20min drive to Giverny. Leaving 1 hr 40 minutes there. Also long drive home.
Driver was excellent.. Antonio, but I would not recommend this trip until Olympics are over!
Response from Host, Jun 2024
Thank you for your feedback! We are so sorry for your experience and we appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention.
Our guides are Paris connoisseur so they always try their best to avoid traffic but it has become quite difficult with the Olympics preparation unfortunately.
We will share your message with our customer service team in order to do better and see if we can find a way to spend more time on site.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. Thank you for your understanding,

Fabulous trip & a most engaging Guide. It was lovely to have so much information before the tour of the house & gardens. Perhaps a little longer to see Giverny could be added to the tour.
Thomas_G, Jun 2024
This was a fantastic way to experience an amazing place. Serge, our guide and driver was awesome, and made this one of our favorite experiences….highly recommend.
Denise_M, May 2024
Loved our trip out to Giverney. Our driver/guide was excellent, a very pleasant and friendly guy (sorry I can’t remember his name). I really liked that it wasn’t a full on guided tour. We were given info about Claude Monet and his life, some handy tips on the gardens and Giverney township, and then set out to explore independently. Perfect as we could go at our own pace. Our total group size was 5 and we travelled in a modern comfortable van. Going early was an excellent idea, the queues were insane by lunchtime.
Ken_B, May 2024
Harry was great! He was an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable, good driver, pleasant to chat with. Great way to see giverny while still leaving evening time for other sightseeing too.
christinericcardi, Oct 2023
Worst experience ever. Driver dropped off in parking lot. Said two things
Start in house
Meet back here at 11:45
Told driver had lunch reservation and considered taking Uber back. We agreed to meet to confirm. I gave up lunch reservation and driver not only left without confirming with me but would not answer phone
Customer service was useless and sided with driver saying I had lunch. Cost 120 euro for car back to Paris.
Avoid this company
Joan_R, Oct 2023
The gardens are breathtaking. We arrived timely at 8AM to the French Tourism office that was closed until 9 AM. 7 of us stood outside somewhat dumbfounded and waited for our driver 10 minutes late at 8:40. We had an excellent driver, but he offered no touring info. We were cramped in an uncomfortable van intended for 6 passengers. There was no guide for both home and garden. Had we been told this was self-guided, we wouldn’t have been disappointed. I cannot, in good faith, suggest this tour operator.
Response from Host, Oct 2023
Thank you for your review Joan. We are so sorry your experience didn't match your expectations and apologize for any inconvenience caused.
We think there might have been a confusion here. Your guide takes you to Giverny and gives you all the information you need to make the most of your trip there. He cannot however enter Monet's house with you but can of course answer all of your questions before or after your visit. During the visit you are free to visit at your own pace and choose where to spend more time, the gardens or the house for example.
We hope you were able to see both and that our guide's comments were helpful for your visit in Giverny.
We will make sure to share your message with our customer service team to ensure our drivers are always here on time, we are sorry about that.
Thank you for your time and feedback, we look forward to working towards your satisfaction.
Christophe from France Tourisme

Serge our driver/guide was friendly and helpful. He went out of his way to make the experience interesting, guiding us through the house and entry to garden, then showing us countryside roads on way back.
