Paid but No Eiffel Tower Tour

My payment confirmation was not sent to the tour company Tourr so my husband and I could not tour the Tower. The tour guide tried to get in touch with Viator to clarify what was going on. Now it is 5 min before the start so I called and was told that someone would look into this and get back with me. I was told if it could not be resolved I would receive a refund. I was told no matter what I’d be emailed with an outcome. I have not received any communication from Viator nor have I received my refund. We waited in the cold and rain just to not be able to tour and we did not receive any communication or a refund. This was extremely disappointing.

Bitterly disappointing and expensive experience!

I was at the designated meeting point an hour before my scheduled time this morning - I actually took a taxi from the Montmartre area where my hotel was due to the fact our breakfast didn’t begin until 7.30am! I paid €26 for the taxi. When the lovely guide arrived shortly after, she didn’t have my name on her list! She called Tour.com and they confirmed that Viator had never passed my details/booking through to them and I didn’t have a place. How bitterly disappointing this was. I booked this trip to try and distract myself from the approaching first anniversary of my husband’s death on Tuesday. Bittersweet. Both the guide and the lady at Tour.com were lovely and so helpful. The young guide (all I know is she was from Ghana) took me over to the ET and showed me where the queue was. As it was very early in the morning, I was in luck as there was availability for me to pay again to go to the summit - €36 - approximately half of what Viator are charging! I received confirmation from Viator by the time I flew home this evening to say that my full refund from them is on its way. However, they had my £76.88 since 17 July!…… Be wary! I was told that the same thing happened with another couple on a different tour yesterday with Viator!
