The driver was over an hour late to pick us up. He was however very friendly when he arrived. However I do not belive he was the one I was speaking to on WhatsApp. Overall they got us to our destination safely.

Thank you for your review, Genesis! Well, again the problem is traffic!.. Unfortunately we are not magicians (yet ☺️) and just are not able to do anything with that. Once the car is on the road in traffic, it's completely in the hands of fortune: the road is one only and the car goes the same direction and velocity of traffic. You know, we manage every day 30-40 services, we schedule our cars already with extra time in case of some issues, and every day Tonytaxi brilliant team does our best to manage all the services in excellent way. YES, we were in touch with you all the time until the car arrives, to keep you updated about situation. You heard from Tony the owner and the office. I booked a transfer from Naples Airport to Positano through Viator. As soon as I landed, I received a message saying the driver was stuck in traffic and would be there shortly. When they arrived, I was surprised to see a large van instead of a car, which I had specifically requested. I was hoping to enjoy the scenic drive with the windows down, but the van windows couldn’t open, which was disappointing. The driver didn’t greet me properly — he just said “Positano?” and grabbed my luggage after I confirmed my name. Coming from the U.S., I honestly felt a bit uneasy. Nothing was explained, and the whole interaction felt off. What made me more uncomfortable was that the driver kept putting his headphones on and taking them off during the drive. Thankfully, my phone was working, which gave me some peace of mind. I was also given a second contact number, but instead of them reaching out to me directly, I got a WhatsApp message from an unfamiliar number again, it all just felt disorganized. We eventually made it safely to Positano, and we did try to make conversation with the driver maybe it was just a long day for him. But overall, the experience was not smooth, and I wouldn’t recommend it to someone looking for a professional, stress-free transfer.

At the beginning, all our team felt sad and confused, because after you received brilliant service, we were not sure, what exactly you were expecting!…🤷🏻‍♂️😅 But now we are glad that you left your opinion, because we hope, that people like you will read this and look for something different😁. Let’s see please. First of all, that day unfortunately there some accident happened in the tunnel, what created, as usually, big traffic and the tunnel was completely blocked; but our driver, a really big professional, managed to switch the road just in time and so he arrived to the airport just 7 minutes later your booking pick up time. As you said, you received a message from us about that once you landed, and we kept you informed all the time until the car has arrived, from 2 numbers! 😅 Actually we have 4 working numbers in the company, because every day we get really big quantity of calls, texts, messages, and so, having just one number, we wouldn’t be able to be in touch with you! We want to be communicative with our customers as much as it possible, it’s very important, and so, secondly, what’s wrong with having more than one number?? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Third, you said that you booked a sedan, and didn’t want a van; on Viator we notice our customers, that we offer different kind of the cars depends on availability and convenience, so it was convenient for us to send that day a van to you instead of a sedan. BUT if you specifically requested it, as you said, we would keep a sedan for you!!! But you didn’t tell anything! All our team looked for it in your booking and all our conversations, but… nothing!🤷🏻‍♂️ So, sorry, Shabnam, but also this complaint doesn’t work! By the way, it was Mercedes V-class van!😉 Regarding the scenic views, - also here you actually received even more than you paid: you booked a transfer, safe and reliable, but transfer! Not a tour! The route of the transfer is mostly highway and tunnels, and only near Positano you can enjoy some views and sometimes, if time permits, our drivers stop for a few minutes for some beautiful photos. But, that day, we repeat, due bad traffic and blocked tunnels, the driver rode you on the scenic route along the coast! And he even stopped several times for you for the photos! What is more, you enjoyed beautiful views exactly because of a tall van! In a sedan you wouldn’t see anything!😅 Fifth, - about the driver. You were lucky to have one of the best drivers of the Coast! We are not sure, how you wanted him to meet you 🤷🏻‍♂️: do not forget, he is a driver, his work is to ride you safely from A to B. He made sure that you are right person, helped you with your luggage and accompanied you to the car. What interaction you wanted? He is not the guide! He has to be very attentive to the narrow and windy road, traffic with lots of cars, buses and scooters and of course your comfort. Believe us, it is not easy: lots of drivers cannot make it: this is why we have here accidents almost every day!..😖 But you do not know this of course. He gave you few explanations during the ride, but we repeat: this wasn’t a tour! If you wanted the tour, you could ask us and book it, it would long and cost differently. He used his headphones? Absolutely correct! He is not allowed to use the phone, so this is the only way to communicate with the office! It’s a part of our work and communication is absolutely necessary for high level service!😎 Besides, Shabnam, if you didn’t like the driver’s work, why you gave him tip 20€???🤷🏻‍♂️ So, Shabnam, you wouldn’t recommend it? We are agree with you. But PLEASE, correct only: to someone looking NOT for a professional, stress-free transfer, but probably SHOW or TOUR, because this is what you expected, didn’t you?😉 You are very right: it’s not here, but we actually never advertised it like a tour. If you are looking something different, just let us know!

Driver was exactly 1 hour late from our scheduled pickup time. Tony communicated early on that the driver would be 20 minutes late, but after that he really couldn’t give us an estimate, just saying traffic is bad. Once the driver finally arrived, he apologized for the delay. The van was clean and the ride went smoothly after pickup. Would not recommend if you have a time schedule to keep.

Thank you for your review, Mr.Timothy. We are agree with you, traffic here is 1 star level! and this is with what we have to deal every day! Traffic unfortunately is unpredictable; as perhaps you noticed, the road here is one and narrow, so if some accident happens, the ride that normally takes something about an hour, becomes 2,5-3 hours long. As it happened also another day right nearby where you are staying in Positano: due an accident the road was closed for 2 hours, can you imagine how many people missed their trains and flights that day?? This is unfortunately, what we cannot change, but we are just trying to do our best every day, and for that we definitely deserve not only 5 stars but the medal!😁👍 So, Mr.Timothy, if you adjust your review, we will be happy. Ahh yes, make sure, you leave Positano with extra time in case of traffic! All the best from Tonytaxi team!

Smooth Ride to Positano

If you want a hassle free experience getting to the Amalfi coast, this is the ride to take. After taking the train to Naples from Florence, it was great to walk through a very busy train station to find our driver who was exceptional in driving us over to Positano. The scenic drive is amazing with breathtaking views. Special thanks to the driver for stopping at a lookout point to get a beautiful picture with Sorrento as the backdrop.

Getting to Positano can be a challenge, but this option provided the best and fastest alternative. Plus, Antonio was great. Our train was delayed arriving into Naples, but he waited patiently and gave us detailed instructions to help us get out of the chaos of the crowds and traffic resulting from the multiple train delays of the day. He also shared his recommendations with us on local dining and activities in his hometown of Positano. Highly recommend this travel option.

Tony was excellent for the whole trip. When we arrived in Naples it started pouring and he was very thoughtful and helpful about ensuring we did not get wet. Communication and directions were clear and easy to follow. His driving was excellent and we talked nonstop so the trip went very quickly with Tony pointing out lots of interesting things along the way. My husband and I booked a private, roundtrip ride from Napoli train station into Positano and back. Tony and his team provided clear pick-up instructions. The drives were comfortable (amazing air-conditioned, roomy & clean vehicles) and we were dropped off and picked up right in front of our hotel. The drive in and out of Positano can be challenging due to limited routes and traffic. Tony and his team are the experts, and we are so glad we followed their recommendations for our return trip. Highlight of our trip, Tony was so kind and funny, he made our trip from Naples to Positano and back an absolute joy, he gave us so many great tips to make the most out of our trip, helped us with our heavy luggage and was so patient with us, our flight was delayed and he waited for over an hour driving around Naples airport as there was no parking for him, we are forever grateful! Having a kind, reliable and honest driver goes a long way in Italy as there are a lot of 'Fake Taxi Drivers' at Naples airport that will price gouge you, save the hassle of overpriced fake taxis' or waiting in long lines for the ferry and book!! Was late to pick us up from Naples then gave us attitude about it. Was swearing the whole drive about other passengers On the way back lied and told us there was traffic and we had to leave early…I’m assuming he had to pick someone up from station at that time. Got to Naples train station 2.5 hours early!

Ciao Muneet, We were expecting your bad review, already after the first our ride, when the driver found bad traffic due an accident (unfortunately it happens often, and traffic here is a really big problem, because the road is only one and very narrow). All who lives here know that, and also tourists, who unfortunately missed their flights and trains because of traffic. The driver were late just 10 minutes, and we communicated to you about that. Could you tell us please, why you yelled to the driver?.. Well, probably because you were tired, but it’s definitely not the way to behave. Exactly because we saw your slightly specific way to see the things, on the way back to Naples we suggested you to leave earlier, just to avoid traffic jam, really scared of your reaction on if you missed your train…😅 But of course, again, we’ve done something bad.😁 We left an hour before our confirmed pick up time, and if you could notice, after almost half an hour you were still in Positano because of traffic. Then we were lucky to do not find other traffic on the way, also because at lunch time there is less traffic, but then it's starting increase. Lots of our clients thank us for our flexibility to move the rides, making it safer in case of traffic! We all think that it’s better to arrive earlier, than miss flight or train! But of course, it’s not your case😔 and you weren't happy again. Besides, you offended us, saying that the driver lied. It’s again all about your way to behave. That’s it. Nothing to deal. We just hope to never assist you again! Have a great day!
