It was incredibly detailed and brought out points of history and his historical significance that was previously unbeknownst to us. The guided tour was done in a very thoughtful and meaningful way and revealed things about Munich, Germany and world events you don’t get in US history textbooks. Fast paced and feels like reading a Dan Brown novel.

This is a good tour. But understand what you are about to see. It was a “work” concentration camp. Many died here but not by gas chamber

Lots of history and information by our guide Emmet that we did not know before the tour. I would really recommend this for anyone wanting to know the history of world war 2 and these camps. I highly recommend..

This was a truly sobering but also fascinating and educational experience. Sam met us at the train station and helped us board to get to Dachau (easiest by train). He gave us a brief rundown on the area en route, and once we got there gave us a lot more information about the history of the camp. He did an amazing job of knowing when to provide guidance and information, and when to let us just absorb the horror and see all that happened there. He was extremely knowledgeable and clearly cared a lot about the material. Absolute must if you're in Munich and we recommend this tour completely.

Mat provided an excellent understanding of Dachau, its major significance and the part it played in the wider context of WWII history. His knowledge of events leading up to the opening of the camp, its use in the various stages of the war and who the major personalities involved gave his tour depth and perspective. As a student of history I found the experience to be interesting and engaging. Mat’s knowledge of history, culture and local customs gave the tour a very personal touch. Highly recommend Mat for those interested in gaining a wider understanding of a complex issue.

Visiting Dachau Concentration Camp was a profoundly sobering experience, but one we believe is essential for anyone seeking to understand this pivotal chapter of history. Mat, our tour guide, went beyond simply showing us the site—he provided an in-depth history lesson that contextualized the events leading up to what we were witnessing.
His knowledge, empathy, and ability to convey the gravity of the subject made the experience even more impactful. We highly recommend taking this tour and, if possible, having Mat as your guide.

Our tour guide was Mat, he was on time and accommodated us with our meeting place. He escorted us to the tour site. He was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Matt was an excellent guide. His knowledge on WWII and Dachau gave us a very clear picture of what took place at the Camp during the war, when it was liberated, and in the years after. Matt was by far the best guide we had in Munich!

I highly recommend this tour with Mat. He was engaging and so knowledgeable. The concentration camp is definitely a heavy subject and I feel our family got more out of the experience going with Mat versus going on our own. His passion for WWII history was clear and he did an amazing job with our three teens. Don’t hesitate in booking this tour.

Our guide, Matt, was awesome. He was very friendly and explained what we were going to do. We were able to see everything that we wanted to. He listened to what we were interested in and designed the tour accordingly. His knowledge of the site, the history and people involved was excellent. He also knows the area of Munich very well as he was able to get us back to our hotel in a timely manner when there was a shut down of the train system. It was the best!
