This was a private tour of Dachau with Jason who was very knowledgeable and a wonderful guide. We are so glad we did this and he really took care of us and gave us a lot of information and attention.

Lucia was amazing! She met us at our doorstep and guided us by train to Dachau and then proceeded to give us an amazing and knowledgable tour of the Concentration Camp. HIGHLY recommend this tour AND Lucia!

I read all the amazing reviews of the informative guides. So I booked the tour thinking we would have a informative guide also. Sadly we did not have one. Yes we were met at our Hotel. Yes we were guided to the train then bus to get to Dachau. Our guide Eric was more focused on talking about his life story on walk and the train. We did not receive information about Dachau on the way to Dachau, the way others stated they did. We received a highlight of items throughout while there. He made jokes laughing during the tour which I felt were completely inappropriate for the place we were at. Sadly I see his name not mentioned in any of the reviews. We felt like he helped out when they had no one to fill in. We visited during Octoberfest. We would have rather not been able to book the tour than given a guide not good at his job.
We just returned from Poland from visiting Auschwitz Birkenau. The guides we had were top notch, professional and informative.
So now I can positively say this tour of Dachau was not done well all due to the guide we received.

Very sorry you were disappointed in the tour, although it is a bit unusual to wait 2 months to post a review. All of our guides, including the one you had, are officially trained, licensed and certified by the Dachau Memorial and have years of experience.
We received a complaint from you shortly after the tour stating that you “experienced discomfort” when our guide, an older gentleman, complimented you, so we issued you a partial refund for this tour immediately (that being 2 months ago).
Oftentimes our customers enjoy it if our guides share some of their story on the train ride and are personable, especially during Oktoberfest. Sorry if you found that to be unprofessional.

Lucia met us in our lobby, and led us to the train and to Dachau. She did a magnificent job patiently giving our family of six (3 teenagers and a 20y old) context of ww2 and how the concentration camps started and developed. Tough assignment and she was flawless. I can’t think of anything could have done better. She also helped us navigate to the soccer stadium for a game that afternoon which we would have struggled with otherwise.

Our guide was very impressive with his passion for the tour and thorough competence on history with dates and many, many stories. I can't imagine a better guide for a tour like this. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and also helped us find the train back to our hotel. A+ experiene.

I did a lot of research of how to make this experience happen for our group of 4 during our visit to Munich. I was very nervous about the public transportation and getting to the destination. It was one of the main reasons I started researching experiences. This one did not disappoint. Our tour guide (Lucy) was remarkable. She was considerate of the weather and pace of our tour. She started giving out information from the time we got on the train until we arrived back at our hotel. Our group agreed that visiting the memorial would not have been the same without her.

Achim was unbelievably knowledgeable. We all learned so much about Dachau’s history. It’s a sober travel through a horrible time in human history, but he he kept everything in a linear timeline and made it all easier to understand all the complexities of how things came to be. As a historian, he was excellent and he was so respectful of sensitive topics and of us. I highly recommend him as a Dachau guide or anything at all Munich related.

Our personal guide Lucia was very helpful and highly informative. She gave us the background of Dachau’s history before WW2. She discussed the cultural and economic changes after WW1 that lead to the rise of Hitler. She showed us all the important areas of the camp and memorials and provided us with complete context . This was a very powerful experience for us as Americans who are concerned about the future of our world and country. Wish every American could have visited with Lucia!

No matter how well versed in the episodes of depravity in human history, seeing the physical evidence of the Nazi concentration program is still shocking and will still increase your sense of how close we all remain to the re-emergence of such darkness.

This is a well-reviewed private tour including hotel pickup, train tickets to Dachau and back to Munich for all members of the group and a certified Dachau guide. There are large group tours of Dachau available for less for those who find this type of tour overpriced.

Lucia was the most amazing guide. Her knowledge of the history of Dachau was incredible. The conversations we had on the train going to the site were incredible as we gained an understanding of the history of Germany as well as the camp.

This is an experience of history that everyone should take time to see. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, thoughtful, and compassionate when our emotions overtook the moments.

Our tour guide Nick was exceptionally informative and knowledgeable about Dachau and German history in general. He was able to point out things we would have never seen or known on our own. Highly recommend this tour and Nick as our guide.

This was my favorite tour of our entire trip, which may sound odd considering how devastatingly sad spending time in and learning about Dachau is. Our tour guide, Lucia, was brilliant. From the start of our journey to Dachau Lucia began teaching us the history of Dachau and helping us to fully understand all that happened at Dachau. She took us through the camp and explained, with great empathy, knowledge and compassion, everything we saw. We brought our 25 year old daughter with us and she was incredibly moved by what she saw and learned. It is so important for the younger generations to see places like Dachau and to know about the atrocities that took place. It was an emotional day for everyone, but an experience I am so grateful we had.
