Very interesting and respectful Tour of the Dharavi Slum and Dhobi Ghat

This was a memorable experience. Our guide Chirag knew his way around the Dharavi Slum and treated workers and inhabitants with greatest respect. You will see people recycling plastic, people who work with leather and workers who sew clothes. It is very interesting to see how people organize their life with grace and resilience. Very recommendable/

We did the Dharavi Slum tour with the local guide Priti. She is very knowledgeable and speaks very good English. Priti showed us around and told us all about the life and the businesses at Dharavi. After Dharavi we took the local train to Dhobi Ghat Laundry. The train trip was a very interesting experience! We can highly recommend the tour and Priti, she is a lovely girl!

I had a great, confident tour guide called Ruba. She took me on a route deep into the residential zones of Dharavi as well as through the working parts. I felt somewhat guilty as a Westerner with a camera. I guess the residents here didn't really consent to being part of a commercial tour, but still the glimpse I had of a moment in their lives did deepen my understanding of what the world is like. 40% of people in Mumbai must live in these dense and unsanitary conditions in a way that should be less common. She was knowledgeable about the places we visited and contextualised it well. Ruba guided me through the public transport route to Dobi Ghat where she explained the history of the site.

Such a moving and interesting tour. Great value as it includes a train ride, the laundry and the slum area. I am in awe of the electrical wiring in use in this area of the city! Ruba was an excellent guide - she was knowledgeable and interesting. We really appreciated how thoughtful and considerate she was to us both at every step and even stayed late to wait with us for a delayed Uber pickup. We wish her every success in the career!

A Humbling experience

After experiencing some difficulty finding the Third Wave Cafe possibly due to having just landed on an overnight flight from the UK we met our guide Subhan. The first of the afternoon was to board a train travelling a few stops down the line to visit the Dhobi Ghat Laundry. This was a short but interesting look into one of the aspects to local life in Mumbai. We then returned to spend several hours walking around the Slums whilst Subhan was extremely helpful and explained several aspects of life within the slums that only a local really know. Whilst this trip might not be for everyone we found it quite humbling and was amazed how happy and cheerful the local children were.

Great sights but the experience was very average

Seeing the laundry and Dharavi slums was very interesting. However our guide, Subhan spoke little Englisha Dan had very little experience in taking these tours, so lots of informal slots in translation. The train was a good experience however the guide seemed to quote all facts straight from Wikipedia, which was a little disappointing
