Memorable tour

This was one of the most memorable and educational tours I’ve taken, thanks to my amazing guide, Alam. I happened to be the only participant for this time slot due to the weather, so I especially appreciated how courteous and thorough he was during this insightful tour. While weaving through the maze-like paths, he explained what life is like there as only a resident of the neighborhood could. Also, watching people maneuver their way through a chaotic intersection with no working traffic lights was fascinating. I’m grateful that Alam let me watch this as long as I did.

It was a wonderful experience. The guide was exceptional in that he was very thorough, friendly and very helpful. He even found time to speak to my taxi driver to direct him to my pick up location after the tour. The tour itself gave us an insight into the workings of the dubbawalas, the workings of dhobi ghat and the scenes at Dharawi.
