Cedrela was an amazing tour guide! She was extremely knowledgable about Friday Kahlo and the history of neighborhood. She was also friendly, had great communication, and kept the tour running smoothly.

Jenny was absolutely AMAZING! She is so knowledgeable and was so open to answering any questions we had. She was open to letting us see some things that were outside of the regular tour (we got to see a prosession!) she’s so good at speaking and explaining the history, I was so riveted by her storytelling that I didn’t want to leave her at the end of the tour! Thank you so much Jenny<3 You’re so amazing at what you do and we would recommend this tour to everyone. Best tour EVER!

Rosa was one of the best guides I have ever had. She was super friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable about everything related to Coyoacan! The food was incredible! Had such a wonderful time!! Highly recommend this tour!

This was the first thing I did when I get to Mexico City and it was such a great introduction to Frida's life and the Coyoacan area. Cedrela was an amazing resource - being an art teacher her self - you could see the passion and appreciation for Frida's work and life come alive. We had great bites during the second half of the tour. Note, we didnt eat until the second hour or so, so I would recommend eating something so you aren't hangry before you get to the markets!

This was one of the best tours I have booked. Our guide Coco was amazing. Not only was he very knowledgeable but the way he was telling the stories it looked like we were also part of Frida Kahlo's life. Impressive.

Our guide (who used to actually work at the museum) was so wonderful and knowledgeable. The walking tour of Coyaocan could not have been nicer if we tried, lovely neighborhood with a few beautiful amazing stops along the way. Stopping for the tostadas (try the salpicon!!) was perfect and the museum itself was amazing.

Gabriela was an absolute gem of a tour guide, very patient and knowledgeable throughout our tour we highly recommend anyone to give this tour a try. We enjoyed every minute walking and all the rich history that Coyoacán had to offer. Muchas Gracias Gabriela.

Gabriela was very informative about life and times of Freda Kahlo. Aldo did well showing us around markets fir various local treats.
Jessie_C, May 2026
The tour was very long before we were able to enter the museum. A lot of free time to walk around different parks and squares. Also got very sick the next morning after eating the market food. Unless you really want to learn about the neighborhood would probably try and buy tickets in advance to the museum.

Our tour guide, Cedrilla was great! She had a lot of knowledge and prepared us for the museum. We stopped and had quesadillas, churros, tostadas. We had a great time and would highly recommend her as a tour guide.
Litsa_A, May 2026
This was one of the best tours we booked in Mexico City and it was all because of Cedrela. I don't believe there is anyone more uniquely qualified and enthusiastic for this tour as she is a local of the neighborhood, an artist herself and brings her own passion to help each group have the best experience at the museum and neighborhood.
Anna_K, May 2026
Had an amazing time with Sebastian who was very knowledgeable, patient, available and easy to understand. The whole tour was very well paced and fun. All up it was a very special and memorable experience.

5/5 Stars – A Truly Memorable Frida Kahlo Experience
I joined a guided tour at the Frida Kahlo House (Casa Azul) in Coyoacán led by Maya, and it was outstanding. Maya is a warm, passionate, and incredibly knowledgeable guide who brought Frida’s world to life in the most engaging way.
Instead of a standard indoor walkthrough, Maya took us around the beautiful surrounding area and shared Frida’s remarkable life story with vivid detail. She masterfully wove together art, personal struggles, her relationship with Diego Rivera, and the rich cultural and political context of the time. Her storytelling was honest, respectful, and full of insight-I learned so many fascinating details I would have otherwise missed.
By the end, I felt like I truly understood Frida’s spirit and the world she inhabited. Maya made the experience intimate, inspiring, and deeply moving.
If you’re visiting Casa Azul, book the tour with Maya. Whether you’re a Frida fan or new to her story, this is a highlight you won’t forget.
Highly recommended! Thank you, Maya!
