An awesome and...
An awesome and well-planned experience, I feel like I got to see so much! We were all so tired by the end we were ready for a siesta (it was quite a hot day), completely worth it. We got so lucky to see the pyramids on the equinox so there were shows. I really love how our guide let us (three solo travelers) have input on how long we would stay (within reason) at each place and if we wanted to skip anything. His explanation at the museum was super valuable as not a lot of the museum was in English, so we got a lot of context. Tequila tasting was great, definitely the best and most…real? Of all the tastings I did. It seems like every tour in Jalisco/Nayarit includes a tequila tasting but this was the most informative and high quality for sure. It definitely helped me discern the quality of tequila on the subsequent tastings I wound up doing. The views are also gorgeous. My only small suggestion is if the menu for the two restaurant options in Tequila could be provided ahead of time. I did enjoy the food court meal we decided on, but after hearing about the offerings of one of the restaurants later, I would have chosen that. For anyone considering, the two restaurants he recommended were Fonda La Martina and La Antigua Casona if you want to look up menus before your trip :) but this was absolutely my favorite “bus” tour that I did on this trip, it’s a true small group experience and I highly recommend!

Chapala
The tour followed the itinerary presented in the description. Javi was our charismatic tour guide and he did a fine job providing information of the spots we went to. My suggestions to the tour planner is to cut time from the Ranch and tequila tasting visit by 15 minutes each and add those to Chapala. The town of Chapala is a lovely spot to watch the sunset.

Amazing day out
Had a great time on this tour. Our guide Francisco was very knowledgeable and theatrical - especially as he spoke in both English and Spanish throughout the day. Lots of great tequila tastings and local information plus some free time in the town of Tequila.

Great tour, highly recommend
Our guide was Hernan he did an excellent job of communicating with us, explaining and educating us not only topics pertinent to the tour but also Mexican culture and the country. He did not rush us and gave us recommendations on a restaurant and what food to order once we arrived in Tequila

I feel like a Charreria
Our visit to this family-run ranch was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, we could feel the warmth and pride that generations have poured into this place. Our guide, Jorge, went above and beyond—patiently answering all our questions, making sure everyone in our family was comfortable, and helping us truly enjoy every moment.
We learned about the rich history of the ranch and its skilled riders, practiced roping and lassoing, rode beautiful horses, and even got a taste of authentic tequila. The highlight was the personal touch—a private, intimate moment with guitar music and singing that made the day magical.
This tour offered fun, culture, and genuine hospitality all wrapped into one unforgettable day. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic and heartwarming ranch experience!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐An exceptional, in-depth tequila experience-worth every peso
I can’t say enough good things about The Agave Experience Tequila Tour. From start to finish, this was one of the most well-designed, informative, and enjoyable tours I’ve done in Jalisco.
Our tour guide was outstanding—extremely knowledgeable, articulate, and clearly passionate about tequila. As a mixologist, I already understand the basics of tequila production, but what really impressed me was her ability to go far beyond the surface. She answered all of my technical questions in detail and walked us through every single step of the process with a depth of information I didn’t expect. It was refreshing to be on a tour that didn’t oversimplify things and instead respected curious, knowledgeable guests.
Our first stop was Cava de Oro, and it was absolutely stunning. The distillery has a rustic, romantic hacienda-style atmosphere that feels authentic and timeless. The setting alone is worth the visit—beautiful courtyards, barrel rooms, and multiple tasting areas. A detail I really appreciated: all tequila tastings were served in proper glassware, not plastic shot glasses. It elevated the entire experience and showed real respect for the spirit.
The second distillery was another artisanal operation, and honestly—it produced the best tequila I’ve ever had. Being able to see the full production side was fascinating: the bottle cleaning room, the factory line, and a small team of women carefully packaging tequila by hand. This tequila felt special, personal, and thoughtfully made. They also had incredible beef jerky on site, which was a fun and unexpected bonus.
Later, we headed into the town of Tequila itself, where we had time to walk around the main central area. The energy was lively—people celebrating, music playing, and a small market where you can buy tequila-related goods and local souvenirs. It was the perfect balance of cultural immersion and fun.
Lunch was at Casa Sauza, located inside the Jose Cuervo Distillery. The food was good by Mexican standards—solid, flavorful, and satisfying. Breakfast earlier in the day was a small, authentic Mexican spot that felt very local. While the food wasn’t anything extraordinary, it was genuinely traditional and absolutely worth experiencing. I tried cactus tacos for the first time, and once I added cilantro, onion, salsa, salt, and seasoning, they were delicious. A charming touch: there was a friendly pet rooster wandering around the restaurant, which made the experience feel even more authentic.
By the end of the day, I was full, happy, slightly buzzed, and genuinely felt like I had made lifelong friends. The pacing of the tour was excellent, the variety of experiences was thoughtful, and nothing felt rushed.
If you’re even remotely interested in tequila—whether you’re a beginner or someone with real knowledge—this tour is 100% worth the money. It’s educational, fun, beautifully curated, and leaves you with a deep appreciation for tequila, the people who make it, and the region itself.
Highly, highly recommend.

Amazing Experience!
Our guide Arturo was incredibly warm and friendly. As someone who doesn’t understand Spanish, I was a bit worried at first about whether there would be English explanations—but Arturo’s English was excellent. He explained everything fluently in both languages and provided very professional, detailed, and engaging explanations of the tequila-making process, which made the experience truly interesting.
Throughout the entire day, Arturo was constantly taking care of everyone in the group, always attentive and thoughtful. We visited a very lovely tequila town, and the party at Cantaritos was absolutely unforgettable—the atmosphere was amazing and so much fun.
Even on the way back, when everyone was still in party mode, Arturo drove very carefully and responsibly. He slowed down on uneven roads to avoid bumps and made sure everyone was safe and comfortable.
Overall, it was an extremely enjoyable and memorable day. I had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this tour to every visitor coming to Guadalajara.

Excellent walk through history and Art.
Our tour guide, Fernando, was en excellent tour guide. He was very professional and very knowledgeable. We bagan at the main plaza in front of the catedral of Guadalajara and Government palace. He explained the history of the founding of Guadalajara's city, and how it was built. We then went to the cathedral and toured inside followed by a walk to the DeGollado Theater to admite the architecture and a bit of rest. We then proceeded through the Hospice Cabañas for the Murals from Orozco, one of the most important artists from Guadalajara. He gave very informative insight into Orozco’s murals. It’s impressive. Overall, I highly recommend this tour.

Fun and freedom in Tequila
Not what I was expecting but a great time nonetheless. Less of a tour, more like booking a driver for the day. Very friendly, great driver, a little English (to match our little Spanish). He took us to Fortaleza (a must-visit, absolutely outstanding) and then let us do what we wanted. We had an appointment at Arette (must go) and then he took us for lunch and drinks at a roadside spot. Delicious molcajete. Then back to Guadalajara. We loved the freedom and were comfortable with limited English, but if you’re looking for a structured day this may not be for you. It was definitely for us - highly recommended.

Great tour of Tonala. Noemi knows Guadalajara and her surrounding cities.
I always try to do a Viator in each city that I go to with a local tour guide. Naomi was great and I contacted her a few days before and she found out what I wanted to do my interest and she tailored my day tour. She was on time met me at our pick up Location and was professional and knew the city.
