Our driver Juan was very good too and the van was very comfortable. This was a great day we can easily recommend . We were glad we did the climb at the rock early before the crowds arrived and that was thanks to Juan Carlos !! Very worthwhile

Great experience! I loved the itinerary for this trip. What made it even better was our tour guide, Juan Jaramillo! He was awesome, sweet and such a great person. He is very friendly and it feels like you are talking to a friend, not a stranger. He ensured we got to our destination in a timely fashion but also gave us the liberty to have some freedom on the tour. I would recommend him. Guatape was easy and moderately challenging at the same time as I felt like I was losing my breathe going up the stairs. Would highly recommend!
We booked the "Visit Guatape, El Peñol, El Retiro & Tekendamita Waterfall" excursion on May 23, 2026 and it was easily the highlight of our trip. We were picked up right on time in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. Our guide, Camilo, was amazing — on time, extremely knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating and patient. Did not rush us once like the other tour we booked with another company. From the famous rock in Guatape, the views, feeding the Llamas, horses and fish to the small town, food and drinks along with time for shopping this excursions had a little bit for everyone. Thank you so much for a great time and for being such a wonderful guide Camilo! I highly recommend booking with The Andes Adventure Travels and asking for Camilo. A++
What an amazing tour! Our tour guide Alex was waiting for us on time for our hotel pick up! From the very start he was a wealth of knowledge and answer all of our questions both tour related and non tour related! The stops on the tour were filled with beauty and the history of Columbia. By the end of the tour we felt as though Alex was a part of our travel crew and that we were natives of Columbia! I highly recommend this tour and that Alex is your tour guide!
Amazing views, beautiful nature and tjlhe most vibrant town Guatape, plus Waterfalla and el Retiro. There is no other tour, packed with the sightseeing.

We had an amazing full-day tour to Guatapé, Piedra del Peñol, Alto de Choclo, and Tequendamita Waterfall. Our guide, Laura, was incredibly knowledgeable, and her expertise made the experience even more special. We enjoyed spending the day in the sun exploring each place, and along the way we learned so much about the local people, history, and legends. It was a wonderful and memorable experience—we highly recommend this tour.
Had a great time on this trip. Diego, our driver and guide, was amazing! The sites and stops were as advertized and wonderful. Diego really made the experience, he went out of his way to help us at every turn, explained things to us, and was such an easy person to get along with. This was such a great deal, I cannot recommend this trip with Diego enough!
Juan Sebastián was a great tour guide, punctual and with a lot of energy and knowledge about everything Medellin. He was flexible with our 5 person group, which included a child, a Spanish speaker, and multiple English speakers. All in all, a fantastic experience that I recommend to anyone visiting Medellin.
Great tour! It was paced perfectly and we were able to see a lot in one day. Diego was super nice and a good guide. I would definitely recommend a tour with him during a visit to Medellin.
Totally worth it! From the first stop through to the very last minute, Carlos was nothing short of knowledgeable and excellent. The animals at the first stop are serious about their carrots lol but that was such a treat to start the day along with the cheese bread. Climbing the rock was so worth it but definitely pace yourself. The history of Guatape and Retiro, so rich! Unfortunately the waterfall was closed but we were able to get pictures. I'm encouraged to explore and learn more, I just may be back! All in all, highly recommend this experience.

This was a wonderful experience and worth the effort. Our guide's name was Juan Carlos and he was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and personable. He spoke excellent English and was very determined to make sure we understood the history of every stop on the tour. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone; Especially if they get Juan Carlos as their guide.
Diego was the best host ever he was so kind and funny he took care of our group and recommended the best lunch spot. He knew the history of all the places , was a safe driver and we felt very safe with him. I would tour with him again

Waterfall is ok. We have our private tour which is not necessary. Lunch is not included. The tour guide/driver is mediocre.
The driver sat with us at lunch so we felt obligated to pay for his meal. Usually they don’t sit with guests from my experiences. The farm where we had lunch is not very good. Will never go there to eat.

We're really sorry you guys didn't had the best time in our tour, breaks completely our heart to read this. Is not to make up excuses, but like we explained on our chat, the tour didn't include lunch, only typical snacks like Pan de Queso, Pastel de pollo, Beverage and Coffee.
We recommended the 2 biggest companies for group tours when you mentioned it and we explained they didn't visit the Waterfall neither El Retiro Town.
We're really sorry our guide was mediocre, we have no words, we will have a meeting with him to see what happened, he's usually very engaging and knowledgeable; and very embarrased he sat on the same table with you guys, it's traditional in Colombia to sit all together and just talk, but we promise we will keep that in mind for our next tours.

We can't overstate how fantastic this tour is, and how highly we recommend it; if you're seeing this as you scroll, you're no-doubt seeing other incredible reviews, not just of the tour but of Juan Carlos, which are 1,000% deserved.
The places are magnificent, the process is easy, the transportation is comfortable, the food is great, the views are unbelievable, and I could go on and on - it's just an all-around fantastic experience.
What really brings it all together, though, is the staff; huge thanks to Vanessa for expertly coordinating everything, and to Juan Carlos for being the best guide imaginable - we genuinely could not have asked for more.
If you're considering it, for what it's worth, I can absolutely guarantee you'll love it :)
Our private driver and guide, Juan Carlos, was amazing. The tour company reached out to us to see if we wanted to leave an hour earlier to beat all of the traffic at the rock. We said yes and it was the BEST decision! Got to see the rock with NO lines and NO traffic. An hour later when we left the rock, it was PACKED! So thankful we got to leave early. Our guide was full of information and told us the whole history. We especially loved the small town Retiro. It’s much less touristy and we got to enjoy a local lunch. Great tour!
Juan was the best tour guide I’ve ever used. He was funny and knew lots of history. The places we visited were beautiful, and Juan added so much interesting information about each place. We ate so much too! Highly recommend for a full day of activities.

We had an absolutely amazing experience with Juan Carlos. He picked us up early and gave a phenomenal tour. Explaining all the aspects of Colombia and its history from the beginning to the end. Juan Carlos did a great job at making sure we were early to Guatape so that we could experience the city and all it had to offer before all the tour busses came and made it to crowded to have fun. He also took us to a great lunch and to a waterfall. Definitely one of my favorite tours as we felt like Juan Carlos was a great friend teaching us about his country. Highly recommend . He also got us tons of Colombian snacks and fruits to try things we never would have known about
