Claudio was a fantastic guide. From the outset we had clear communication with an early pick up time. Claudio was waiting for us outside our hotel and drove us to the start of the hike. He provided us with head torches and in the dark we set out on the trail. It was reassuring to have him showing the way. He gave us a lot of information about the flora, fauna and wildlife. We then stopped at a special viewing place to watch the amazing sunrise with stunning views. Claudio had tea or coffee to share with us. The hike back revealed the beautiful landscape we had just walked in the dark and many, many photos were taken. A safe journey back to the hotel brought us back for about 9.30am. Followed up with text messages from Claudio for discussed walk and restaurant recommendations and photos. We would highly recommend Claudio for any hike and will be sure to do so to our friends. Thank you Claudio for a great morning

Really lovely experience with beautiful views. Cláudio, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He was able to adapt the hike due to the weather conditions and we saw the most gorgeous sunrise.
I have no hesitation in recommending this activity.

My son and I had an awesome experience with Claudio. Right from the start he was very knowledgeable, confident and had a great understanding of the hike. Great time! Wild how dark it is (you will use headlamps to see on the way out) and how you have literally no idea what is around you until you walk back in the daylight. Really cool experience with great views. Sadly, it was too cloudy to see the sunrise, but the views were still stunning. Great hike with a great guide.

This was and amazing experience. Our guide Claudio was really nice and knowledgeable. We hiked in the dark with head torches, and when we reached the viewpoint for sunrise, we were almost alone. Making it a really peaceful and beautiful experience. I will absolutely recommend this hike.

A great private hike with a knowledgable tour guide named Claudio. He picked us up on time in a very clean car and was friendly from the offset. Claudio also showed great care for the environment during the hike, collecting rubbish on his own accord where he could. This shows how much he cares about his job and his country. He also displayed great enthusiasm for the environment, and he was very knowledgable on the geology and geography on the area - which was amazing, considering the beautiful rock formations we saw. Also, Claudio knew the best routes, and advised us on when the weather was going to change using his local expertise. We thoroughly enjoyed the hike and would very much recommend Claudio to all who plan for a memorable experience.

Seeing sunrise at Pico Ruivo was an excellent experience. We were tired but the views were certainly worth it. Even my son who claims to be a city person was impressed. Our guide was very helpful, he offered a lot of information concerning the hike and Madeira in general.

Hiking to the top of Pico Ruivo was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Although I hate cardio, the views at sunrise were worth it. Claùdio was responsive to my questions before the hike and an invaluable guide.

Claùdio picked us up from our hotel in Soa Vicente at 5am and drove us up to Pico Ruivo, sunrise was just after 7am and after a hike of about 35-40 mins we were at the peak in good time to see all the colours before sunrise (which were breathtaking!) I also loved looking down at the carpet of clouds. Clàudio is really friendly and speaks English extremely well.

Claudio is really an amazing guide with many interesting facts abou the island. He answered all our questions and gave us many tips on what else to do and see. The whole trip was a nice experience although the weather was not in our favor and we did not see the sunrise at all. Hole is not difficult at all for a fit person, we went with our parents that are in their Sixtinské and they also managed to get to the top. On the way back we stopped at s beautiful viewoints as well as small town i mentioned i wanted to see.

Amazing way to start the day at Pico do Arieiro to watch a beautiful sunrise, followed by a great trek to Pico Ruivo! Claudio is so knowledgeable and experienced and we felt completely safe in his hands! This is a must do for your Madeira bucket list! Can’t wait to do it again!

C'est un guide très sympathique et qui sait nous faire découvrir son île à travers des randonnées hors des sentiers battus.
Pour ce levée de soleil, il n'y avait que nous trois et une vingtaine de touristes aux alentours. C'était vraiment un moment unique.
Il nous a également conseillé sur d'autres randonnées alternatives et des bons petits restos.

Superbe expérience . Le lever de soleil n’a pas été fantastique mais la descente pour revenir tellement belle . Notre guide Claidio a été parfait . Nous n’avons pas l’habitude de marcher en randonnée mais il a su nous faire avancer sans problème . La journée a été magnifique .
A conseiller si vous ne faites pas la randonnée en entier mais que vous voulez en faire un petit bout quand même .
Nous étions avec 2 enfants et c’était parfait .
