Graham was right on time and a wonderful guide. He let us shop a little since Windsor castle was closed. The lunch at The Wheat Shaff on the Avon river was a delight. We saw BOTH Woodhenge and Stonehenge, which helped in gaining a big picture perspective on these historical wonders. The pace of the trip was easy. Plenty of time at all locations. 9 hours round trip. Highly recommend!

Our driver, Ash, was wonderful! Very accomodating. He upgraded us to a larger vehicle, knowing we had kids with us, which was great --- room to spread out and enjoy the ride. He was knowledgeable about the areas we were passing by and about the places we were visiting. He drove us safely and efficiently. Very happy with this driver experience!

NOT A GUIDED TOUR

Had a wonderful time at Stonehenge and Windsor Castle and highly recommend visiting those sites, but note this package is NOT A GUIDED TOUR. Basically it just a driver for the day to take you to Stonehenge and Windsor Castle. You NEED TO BY TICKETS TO BOTH IN ADVANCE ON YOUR OWN or there may not be availability the day of and at the time you want which wasn't very clear to me either. Our driver was very nice and on time, but the fact this is listed as a "private guided tour" is misleading. For this reason I would not recommend. Just hire a driver for the day.

Hi. Thank you for your feedback. It clearly states on the website and booking forms regarding tickets. These are driver guided tours. This clearly states this. We guide you to the correct places.give you history etc. I think once again. You have not read the terms and conditions. Viator customers should read the terms and conditions and check what is included. Clearly state that no guides are allowed inside Windsor castle or any royal palaces. Stonehenge was guided. We do not make the kings rules regarding guides inside the Palace. You need to do some research before putting a bad comment. If you hired a large Mercedes mini van and private driver. 10 hr tour. This would also cost you more than the tours we provide. So very bad comment when you have not done your research on private drivers. This is very annoying to put comments that you have just made up. After you have had a wonderful day. With a great driver guide. Who looked after you. Gave you all the history. Collected you in a luxury vehicle.stopped at a beautiful pub. Door to door service.

Not what was expected!

We were expecting a guide/driver but instead had a driver. Our driver was very good - and I would give him 5 stars as he got us to both sites and gave us assistance to avoid lines. He was very nice but he was not a guide. When he arrived, he stated that the guide that was supposed to be with him was ill. Not sure I believe that as we were expecting a guide/driver in one - and the seat where this person would have sat was filled with supplies. The drive did offer tour books and an ipad to show you tube videos about the sites but we could have provided that on our own. Again, the driver was good. We just expected more from tour company based on the description of the tour and money paid. I only gave 3 stars because tour company was very responsive when contacted prior to tour about tickets required etc.

Hi. Thank you for your review. I'm not sure the driver could have said this. Maybe you misunderstood him. We don't have separate guides. The driver is the guide and driver. They do not guide you inside. They give you details of the site and history of the venues. Make sure you get inside as easy as possible. Stopping for lunch etc. I did speak with him. He said he did all.of these things . Was a little shocked on the comments. So sorry this was not upto your standards. He said you mentioned you had a great day and enjoyed it. He also mentioned there were guides inside each venue. I hope you used these facilities. These are not blue badge guided tours. They are driver guided tours.

Not a Tour, A Taxi Ride

As a frequent subscriber to Viator Tours (Paris, Madrid, Dublin, Lisbon, and later this year Lyon, France...) I have been impressed with the always excellent quality of the experience and value for the money. I have never been disappointed by a Viator product until now - all recieved the highest ratings. "Tours" are not Taxi Rides, there is an expectation that the Driver/Guide will know the history of the route, information about the venues visited, and be capable of answering questions. Our Driver was very kind, nice guy but TOTALLY UNABLE to offer anything other than a good drive. My suggestion is that others bypass this Tour and look for something else since for our family it cost several hundred dollars.

Hi. Thank you for the review. I understand your points. You were sent a email. Mentioning that the driver guide we had was not avaliable through illness. We offered this person has a driver only. Not a driver guide. We gave the option of cancelling the tour.. We never received a reply. So understood this was fine. We have used this driver many times.he has always given people a very good time. I understood they had a great day.stopped at a nice country pub. Windsor and stonehenge both have guides. This was explained. I have mentioned this to the client. He told me I was a liar. Terrible comment. What a rude person. I have also offered a free tour the next time they are back in London. I apologise for the tour was not up to your standard. I'm always surprised that they didn't stop the tour before they got to Windsor. By this time they never even gave the guy a chance. He said they would not let him talk and talked over him. This is why he stopped talking at certain points. We have fantastic 5 star reviews.

We spent a long day with David who was on time, polite and knowledgeable. He picked us up from our flat and filled us with history and pointed out sights along the way to Windsor and Stonehenge. He reserved us a table at a very nice pub/restaurant along the way and got us back to London exactly at the time promised. There were 8 of us and we all slept the entire ride home. We would do it all again with this service.
