Fabulous tour. Loved the train and ferry ride. Hotel was great, centrally located

Excellent support by staff assisting us. Met at the station, picked up from the ferry and brought back to the ferry. The free tickets for the hop-on hop-off bus were great. Really enjoyed the tour of Dublin. Hotel was excellent. Nice room and friendly staff. Only complaint was that the seats on the train weren't reserved for us and the train was quite booked. ended up in the last carriage.

The rate is definitely 5 stars. The guide who met us on Euston station was amazing. He showed and explained us everything we needed to know, found the best seats on the train. The taxi drivers in Dublin were really communicative and helpful as well. The way through Wales and Irish sea was a little bit long but it was a good experience, especially if you want to see a big ferry and like trains. The Ashling hotel has a good location, the room is one of a great quality. The Dublin itself is the city of a dream! Just advise you to plan what you want to visit there in advance, especially if you haven't got enough time. It wasn't the first time when we use Viator Tours and it is a company of a great quality and we will definitely use it again in future.

Enjoyed for the most part. Train booking did not give assigned seats even though most seats where reserved which caused us to have to change seats as people arrived...I checked to reserve seats for return and was told that our tickets where not changeable. Hotel needs to be upgradeable, we where placed in an converted extension to the hotel over an Irish Pub on a Saturday night with no air conditioning windows open, so you can see where this is going. Elevator to floor then up and down stairs to get to the room with luggage. Not fun!

If people loves the train and ferry, this is a good option. Two days of that seem a bit wasteful of time out of five days. Dublin itself is a really great city. Our hotel is very well located but unfortunately a bit tired and not ready for hot summer days.

Everything was OK, except the fact that we had no reserved seats on the train and it was very crowded on the way back.

Pros: The booking through Viator was easy, the tour company were professional and knowledgeable, the travel from London to Dublin via rail and ferry was fun and relaxing, and the hotel in Dublin was clean and in a good location. Cons: We expected to be traveling with other people but we were on our own; the travel time was long; once we got to the hotel we had to come up with our own itinerary on what to do in Dublin. This is a great tour for people who only have a few days of travel, like a relaxing journey, and want to get a quick taste of Dublin. I recommend the Hop-on/Hop-off day tour in Dublin once you get there to get a overview of the city. Everyone we met in Dublin was very friendly and helpful so ask around for local adventures. We really enjoyed this tour because we were able to set our own pace and agenda while using the travel time to relax.

Loved the train ride and the Ferry was amazing. The only down side was the location of the hotel, next to the bus station made for a little bit of noise at night, other than that the hotel was nice.. Overall, railtours was helpful, polite and went out of their way to make our trip enjoyable.

The train ride and ferry ride were a really cool way to see the English and Welsh countryside. However, it's a 7 hour journey. It doesn't leave for enough time to enjoy Dublin. Dublin is a must see for sure - it's magical! My hotel was far from city center (20 min walk) but it was really nice!

Excellent short excursion from London! Ride on the 50,000 tons Irish Ferry Ulysses alone is worth the trip. Dublin hop-on-hop-off bus is a great way to see the city. Gunness store house is a must visit stop. Walking tour is great and is free with bus ticket. Only draw back is the train ride from London to Holyhead - little too long and crowded. Train seats are not so comfortable comparing to Asia's modern trains.
