What To Expect
Discover the lavish spaces where the notorious Henry VIII once resided, indulged and—occasionally—terrorized his court, particularly his six unfortunate wives. Make your own way to Hampton Court Palace and use your pre-booked admission ticket to enter.
Once inside, explore independently or join a guided tour to learn about the extravagant palace that evolved from humble beginnings as a grange in the 13th century. Acquired by capricious King Henry in the 1520s, the estate grew in size and grandeur, replete with fine tapestries, furnishings, and art. Along the tour, see the Great Hall, the State Apartments, and the enormous royal kitchens. Built to feed the indulgent king and his court of 600 people twice daily, these kitchens were the largest of Tutor England.
Families may enjoy the Family Trails tour, a kid-focused palace walk, and a visit to Hampton’s Family Room, a designated space for children to rest and play.
After your tour through the magnificent palace interior, head outside to the surrounding gardens. Wander through the unique Privy Gardens, the Great Vine and the Hampton Court Maze—touted as the most famous maze in the world. Fortunately, with no tangental paths to stump you, you won’t get lost within it!

all fine! No glitches. When we showed up, Hampton court entry ticket was immediate +no need for a special guide/ each room view is well described, do allow extra time for manicured gardens!
BTW, boarded train in London/ bot R/T tickets-a short trip each way. The park was straight ahead/easy, nothing to figure out.

We loved seeing Hampton Court Palace. The audio tour worked well. Come prepares for a lot of walking but well worth the visit. It was very convenient to have tickets in hand and walk right in. It was easy to ride the tube and a train to Hampton station.

I did a self-guided tour of this wonderful palace, although audio tours are available. From the 16th century through the later additions, the palace gives a great insight into the reining ruling who lived there.
The gardens and maze are both beautiful and fun. The train ride from London was pleasant. The large cafe on the grounds is worth a visit and quite good because a proper tour will take several hours.

Hampton Palace was amazing!! We had the best day exploring the palace and the grounds an even took a horse carriage ride. This is a must see when visiting London!!

Do not purchase tickets through Viator for this tour. I never was able to access my tickets and ended up repurchasing at the castle. Because it was a third party transaction, the confirmation number was useless. I am working on getting a refund for my purchase through Viator. This will determine whether I use them again for future tours

We had no issues using Viator tickets and grabbing our headsets. Prices were slightly cheaper than the website.

Peter is a very experienced tour guide. He knows everything about when to go for each activity. Recommend.

Incredible! The grounds were beautiful and the rooms were so interesting to learn about. I especially liked the Tudor kitchens.

Hampton Court was very nice . The Viator digital passes could not be scanned. Recommend buying directly from Hampton Court.

Loved this self guided tour along with the various guides provided by Hampton Court. Rich in English history.

It was fabulous. David did a fabulous job educating us on the history, art and culture Hampton Court. The drive was lovely and the trip was delightful as David continued to educate us about the areas we traversed. A bonus was getting to see Eton College.

It was a great day, take the train out and that is fun also. go to the Mute Swan across the road for lunch very nice ..... Henry's Castle is just amazing so much to see, so much history. having your ticket first saves lots of time lining up.

We really enjoyed Hampton Court Palace. It was lower season, so a great experience because
it wasn't crowded. We appreciated having all travel information on our voucher as to how to get out there We opted to take the train which was easy and only 30 min. Again thanks to the specific
info.

We used our Oyster card to take the tube to Wimbledon then again to board a national railway train to Hampton Court.
After about a 3' walk we entered the grounds.
We just should our ticket which we had printed off at home and went right in.

Wow! What a marvelous place to visit! So much history here. We happened to be here on the hottest day on record in London. It was so hot! The palace was almost deserted, giving us plenty of photo opportunities with no people in the pictures. The brochure is laid out well, so you can see what interests you by time periods. There were employees in every room to answer your questions. Would definitely go back to spend more time! Well worth the ticket price.

Lovely day out, very interesting. Our grandson enjoyed looking for the dragon. We all enjoyed the Maze. We also liked the Tudor Kitchen.

We did not know a lot about Hampton Court Palace prior to our visit. I was great! Full of so much history. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes as it is quite large.
Julio_G, Jun 2019
A great Palace with a lot to see. Actually I recommend those who want to visit it to take 2 days to do it, since the gardens are absolutely majestic. One day for the Palace another for the garden
Allesandra_T, Jun 2019
There is no such thing as priority entry to Hampton Court Palace, so don't be conned into paying more than the standard ticket price. Buy directly from Historic Royal Palaces for family discounts too.

Hampton Court is one of my favorite spots to visit just outside London. It is well worth the day to enjoy stepping back in time. The exhibits are well done and they are constantly updating and adding to this attraction.
Michelle G, May 2018
Loved Hampton Court Palace. We took ourselves there on the train and didnt really need a priority ticket as there were almost no people when arrived.
Mark B, Feb 2018
We purchased the entry tickets before hand but found it really didn't make a difference even if we had purchased the tickets on-site. The audio guide was good but make sure you block several hours to see everything. We didn't get to see everything and we got there at 1230 and thought we had enough time. The attraction is worth the visit, lots of history to see.

I loved this tour! It was better than expected. Of course I love history, period. My favorite part was the skit by the actors in the great hall and the kitchens! Just amazing to walk where Henry VIII walked. Since it was cold, we missed a lot of the outdoors areas, but will definitely come back.
Emily S, Dec 2017
Amazing. I can't recommend this enough. Absolutely would go back if I get the chance.
Paula N, Dec 2017
Absolutely incredible, something ticked off my bucket list
William_P, Oct 2017
Easy access via the train. We enjoyed moving through the rooms at our own speed.
margandgreg, Oct 2017
Fantastic tour. Skipped the queues! Caught the impromptu actors - made the trip all the more interesting.
DeAnn J, Oct 2017
Wonderful and full of history! Hampton Court is a great place to visit for Henry VIII buffs! :)
Kathleen B, Oct 2017
What an amazing place to see. We wondered throughout the palace and gardens and it was very enjoyable.
Sandi C, Oct 2017
This tour was good but not as easy to get in as some of the other tours we’ve taken. We didn’t realize that we needed to go to the regular ticket window first which slows the admission process.
