Guide was very knowledgeable about Lima , its history and food culture. She made accomodations for my niece, who is a vegan. Good sampling of food culture with tamales, causa, chicha morada, chocolates, ceviche, Chifas, and fruits and spices of Central Market.

We hit the jackpot with Ivonne, we had an immediate connection, she was knowledgeable and very interesting.
Food was so much fun, la good variety of starters, coffee, fruit, desserts and of course Ceviche.
We listened to her stories about history and culture.

This is a scam. No one ever contacts you. We showed up and no one was there. We called. We emailed. We never saw anyone. Most locals use what's app and this person never even tried to. Viator was also zero help in getting in touch with this person. Would not waste your money on this "tour scam"

We booked (and paid significantly more) for a private tasting tour. We met our guide at the meeting point and were told that there would be 5 other people joining us on tour. I sent a message to the tour company asking why we were not informed that our tour was no longer private. Still have not received a response from the company With Locals about why we were not informed of the change and have not been refunded for the difference in price from a private tour to a group tour. We felt completely duped and without options. It’s deeply unfortunate because our guide choji was excellent and the tour was deeply authentic.
Unfortunately the companys lack of communication and their decision to not inform us (or refund the price difference) of our tour change leaves me unable to recommend this company for a private Lima food tour.

Choji led a relaxed tour, and was super accommodating to our requests. He was more than welcome to share his own unique experience, which made the tour even more interesting and special. We often found ourselves on the edge of our proverbial seats, waiting for his next words about the food, Peru’s colorful history, or his own life.

Tourist trap!
The tour started out great! Our guide Ivonne was very accommodating, and took is to many interesting places and gave a quick history lesson with places we passed.
The reason the star rating and low recommendation is for our last stop: they price gouged us five times the regular price, when we bought additional items and Ivonne assured it was the right price. We didn't realize until after the tour was over and we happened to see these items listed for a much lower price. For example :Paying 90 PEN vs 18 PEN ( another store).
Viator should look into this and remove this tour guide who makes extra commision on the side by looting the tourists that help the tourism and economy.

This tour was absolutely amazing! It exceeded our expectations by offering much more than just tasting 10 local foods. Our guide, Ivonne, took us on a captivating journey through multiple landmarks, historical buildings, and unique food experiences.

We loved every minute of our food tour with Choji. We scheduled the food tour on our first day in Lima and now that we are home, still think it was the most interesting and delicious adventure we experienced on our 10 day trip, besides the natural beauty of Machu Pichu. The tour was well worth the price! We tasted more than what was listed in the description, learned so much about Peru and saw so many interesting places that aren’t on the usual tours. Go on the tour with an empty stomach as the tastes were many and were delicious.Thank you Choji for giving us a day we won’t forget.

She was lovely we went on a great walk and had wonderful food choices. We really enjoyed it. Only very small thing as we walked by a church by the catacomb which was closed if the schedule was adjusted maybe we could squeeze that in too !!

Choji was a fantastic and very knowledgeable guide, with excellent English! Got to see many things that we would have never looked at on our own. Also helped us get our bag back for our Uber driver that we forgot! Highly recommended!
One note- the tour was longer than advertised. Which isn’t a bad thing! Unfortunately, we just didn't have the time to see everything Choji wanted to show us. We had a great time though, and it was fully worth the money.

Lorena was great. We loved the variety of food that we got to try. I love trying new fruits so I especially enjoyed that we went to the market for fruit. She also gave us other recommendations for after the tour.

Lorena was the best guide! We ran into traffic issues and she was so accommodating! She took us to several locations where we could have tastes of many popular Peruvian eats. Along the way, Lorena gave us great historical insight into all the places along our route. We had a great time! Thanx, Lorena!

A unique local perspective of popular foods and culture in downtown Lima. Ivonne was a wonderful tour guide taking us to the central market, Chinatown, and other key sites downtown. The tastings along the way were all different. We tried some things we never would have tried otherwise. Never knew a fruit could taste like lucuma.

Claudia combined a bit of history in the walking tour with a scrumptious tasting tour to fill our afternoon in Lima.
From cheese and olives to dumplings to ceviche and arroz chaufa, our tastebuds were delighted. My favorite taste of the day was a lucuma shake; I hope to find some lucuma in a local market at home.
In addition to the wonderful afternoon, Claudia made some welcome recommendations for trying Lomo Saltado.

This tour was just "okay" but not what we expected. Usually, a food tour is about tasting local food and putting it into historical or cultural context. None of this was done here. For example, we went into a market and were given a slice of cheese and some olives - what kind of cheese was it, why was it unique to Peru, what was special about the olives? None of this was shared. The venues where we stopped were very noisy which made it hard to understand the guide. Overall, probably the poorest food tour we've taken.

Our guide Karen was soooooo fantastic! She helped me and organized this tour(my gift to my husband) like it was my husband’s birthday tour and at the final stop we had cocktales and Peruvian traditional birthday cake and a song! It was so lovely!
The tour itsef was very interesting while we wouldn’t have gone to these places without Karen. She showed us not only traditional and very tasty dishes, but also the city.
Fantastic experience with excellent outcome!
P.s. She recommended us the Munich Piano bar to continue our evening and there we met this charming old pianist who played so armospheric, we made friends with him and came two evenings in a row. My husband even played piano himself later 😎
