The Lima For Foodies tour was a great kick-off to our Peruvian adventure. We had the amazing pleasure of hanging out with Arturo who was not only personable but funny and EXTREMELY knowledgeable about Peru's history. His passion for the story behind the cultural scene made the tasting experience even more meaningful. We tried a variety of fruits/veggies, a total of four traditional dishes, and learned A LOT about staple food items in Peru. I loved that we stepped out of the tourist section and actually walked the streets of Barranco as real members of the community. Arturo was so attentive and went out of his way to ensure we had a great time and felt comfortable. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who'd like to have an authentic tasting experience.

The pickup spot and time differed than what was on the voucher. Other people who were on the tour were picked up from their hotel, and I was never offered that. Luckily my hotel was only a 8 min walk to the meeting spot on the voucher. I tried to chalk up the lack of food to covid, but going back and seeing reviews from only a few months ago, we did not get anywhere near the amount of food people are speaking about. A spoonful of soup, A coffee, a smoothie, a couple of plantain chips and salsa, a little piece of chocolate, some of the items in banana? leaves that are in the pictures and pieces of some local fruits, not even a whole one. I didn’t eat breakfast, and left the tour hungry. The guide was very knowledgeable and informative but did spend a decent amount of time on his cell phone. I was hoping to taste more flavors of Lima but that did not happen.
