What an amazing tour. So so many different species of frogs, and a few toads. The tour guide was amazing, so knowledgeable about the land and animals. They also made me an empanada at the end of the tour which was absolutely delicious. We saw a possum and sloth as well. The sloth sticked his head out for us. Truly amazing.

Young Joshua who led us through this small sliver of jungle paradise was on point. His ability to locate even the smallest and most hidden of creatures was truly astounding. From the poison dart frog practically invisible under a leaf to a slot who came down from the upper reaches of the canopy stop right in front of us, it was one amazing experience after another. Great hospitality before and after and a truly memorable evening for all of us!

Tour was on a plot of family land kept as an ecological preserve. Jose was a good guide, able to spot several species of frog and even a young sloth. We saw a few varieties of birds, a young caiman, a large snake and some lizards. Hoped to see more sloths, but just never spotted them. Jose gave us plenty of great information on what we were seeing, and was engaging. Tour lasted about 90 minutes and then ended with a small snack. Not a bad tour overall, but a bit on the pricey side.

We did not actually get to take the tour since it was raining heavily during the time, and I assumed that I had lost my $120 (for two people). But they responded and credited me with a full refund. I loved that attention to customer service - could have just ignored me - and so I was moved to make this information public here. Good people, that want to do the right thing.

Ecogarden Experience

The tropical rainforest ecogarden really brought the unique flora and fauna of Costa Rica to life. Up close and personal we saw sloths, butterflies, toads, frogs, leaf-cutting ants, caimans, lizards, spiders all under a dense canopy of foliage. Great experience, interesting and educational.

Exiting night tour

I had the vip experience. I was the only one that had booked that day. So a bit creepy only me and the guide in the dark forrest, but after finding the first frog, it gets cool and exiting. We found several different frogs, caimans and caiman babies, birds asleep in the trees and a lot of other stuff. The guide was really kind and new a lot about the nature and was very passionate about his place. Really enjoyed the trip.

Nice sanctuary with the fantastic guides, they were very knowledgeable about the animals on the property and did a great job make it fun for our kids. We saw many toads, frogs, small snakes, caymans, sloths, insects, and identified interesting plants and fungi. It was exciting exploring the “forest” at night with a flash light. But this area is safe for families.

The only frogs we found where spotted by the visitors. The guide was mostly busy having a "party and chatting" with the american visitors instead of searching for animals or explaining other stuff of thw forest.

Night Walk

This is a family project, Jose is very knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. We saw red eyed tree frogs, glass frogs, red poison dart (blue jean) frog, puma frogs, sloths, cayman, costa rican bull frog, king fisher bird, other species of birds and much fauna. The tour ends with a short drive to a soda to enjoy a homemade empanada with a cup of warm sugarcane and ginger tree.
