What an amazing experience. Beautiful grounds! If you love being completely immersed in nature, this is for you. One of our top things we did around Arenal!
They closed the trail about halfway through , so we only got to cross ply 3 swinging bridges, disappointing, especially after walking all the way up. No refund or discout offered.
It was a beautiful walk and the bridges were fun. We went during rainy season and without a guide so we only saw one monkey, one frog, and some beautiful butterflies. Without a guide I wouldn't expect to see much, especially if you move quickly. We took our time and took everything in. Lots of rain so I am assuming the animals were seeking cover. I still think the views are worth it and you can take your time and enjoy it all.

Mistico is beautiful and very easy walk for all ages and abilities be it self guided or with a guide. We went self guided and although had an amazing time did not see too many animals. This was most likely due to monsoon style rain when we attended. That being said having done guided tours elsewhere there is no doubt that you will see more with a guide and be shown things that you would simply miss unless you are somewhat of a expert spotter for small camouflaged animals.

I visited during the rainy season, which made for a cool, refreshing hike—especially during the uphill sections. There were friendly attendants stationed at each of the hanging bridges who were incredibly helpful and even offered to take photos for me.
Although I didn’t see many animals (mostly the tiny red poison dart frogs), the stunning landscapes and peaceful atmosphere more than made up for it. Overall, it was a relaxing and rejuvenating experience that I’d definitely recommend for anyone looking to enjoy Costa Rica’s natural beauty.

Our family of 3 had a great time here! The hanging bridges definitely added a thrill! The condition of the trails and bridges was very good. We took the dirt trail shortly after the start which added some distance and provided fanatic views of the volcano and lake. This was a bit of a workout due to the elevation gain so be prepared and wear decent hiking footwear. We saw and heard monkeys, one of which posed for 10 minutes in a tree right above our heads! Overall it took us almost 3 hours which was well worth the cost.

Cool hike. We took the long way. We did about 3 miles. It was a good workout but we went early and it was over cast so we didn't see much. We had a had time trying to figure out the map. The park should have the bridges better marked. That caused us to back track a little. The fruit stand out by where you turn off 142 is a must stop for a refreshing coconut water.

This was ok, I'm guessing it really depends what time you go and if you go with a guide. There were some good views but just a normal hike to me.

You probably don’t need the guided tour if you have a sharp eye. We got to see poison dart frogs, baby eyelash vipers, many tamandua and quite a few birds. Do the long trail if you have the energy. Great views and good exercise. Really great experience!

The bridges are neat but this is overall a man made area with hiking and nature all rolled into one. Pack water, wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to be sore if you don’t take the van up. We did the hike up and the long way around the trail. My legs were sore after.
The bridges sway, shake some and they do move! We were nervous at first.
Don’t eat at the restaurant it’s $$ and not great.

My friends and I enjoyed 3 hours at Mistico and weren’t disappointed. The paved walkways would take less than 2 hours, but we chose to add a new loop to our walk, which wasn’t paved. The views were amazing but some parts of the path were steep. We had great views of the lake and mountains. We saw howler monkeys as well as toucans and other colorful birds. The staff were friendly and helpful and the cafe food was delicious. We highly recommend this activity.

Lots of moneys before the hike even really starts! Go at midday if you don't have a reservations. It wasn't that crowded and it's not that hot because you're walking under the canopies the whole time.

We booked weeks in advance and was never given direction that you would need to travel on rocks all the way up so our Uber never made it up. It was too late to get a refund. We had to go to the next excursion. It took over an hour trying to figure out where to go,

This was a really cool experience. We definitely recommend going first thing in the morning and taking the Mirador volcano viewpoint trail (not sure the exact name but it was the dirt trail off the Rufous Garden). We were all alone and walking through cloudy mist was beautiful. My 66 year-old mother and 8 year-old daughter were able to do this with no problems and only minimal complaining :-)
This was a very cool experience and definitely worth it.

Hanging bridges are fun but don’t really put you in the treetops (and animal life remains distant) so it’s an expensive way to walk in the forest. There are better walks around without the hype.

We took our 7 and 8 year old kids on this experience and they loved it. It is beautiful and the bridges are fun. We did self guided, but a guide would have been nice for better animal spotting!

Beautiful tour!!! We saw wild monkeys and a small viper snake. Also went through 3 hanging bridges (impressive). There is lot of uphill and downhill hiking but my 4yr old and 6 yr old were able to handle it with no problems (the 1hr trail). Highly recommend!! We loved it.

This was wonderful, the walk was peaceful moving at your own pace. There are some steep parts but those have stepping stones. Seeing numerous wildlife was truly an amazing experience.

A beautiful way to experience the rainforest. A fair amount of hiking. Crossing the first bridge was a little nerve-racking for someone with height issues, but got over it and really enjoyed myself.

Nice park with cool hanging bridges. But if you come without a guide definitely go before 7:30 to get as few people as possibke. After that it gets too full

This was so much fun. I 100% recommend. The first bridge was the highest so pretty steep walk but sooooo gorgeous on the bridge. Takes about two hours but one of the bridges was closed so took about an hour and half. Overall, amazing.
