Kai was our tour guide and he was AWESOME! The big animals weren't out, but we learned so much about plants, insects, and life in the forest. Highly recommend!

It was an amazing experience seeing animals in nature. A word of caution is you’ll never know what you’ll see but I still recommend it if you want to see something that will wow you.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for your kind recommendation! We really like how you described the experience—every night in the rainforest is different, and that sense of discovery is part of what makes each walk unique. We're delighted you enjoyed observing wildlife in its natural environment, and we hope to welcome you back for another adventure someday.
Shawnah_M, Jul 2026
It was great. Our guide was Lucas and he was very knowledgeable. He and the other guides worked really hard to find things for us to see and the vibe was very positive. We saw mostly frogs and insects, but one owl. Would do again!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for your great review! We're delighted you enjoyed the experience and appreciated the effort our guides put into finding wildlife throughout the walk. Every night in the rainforest is different, so we're happy you were able to observe a variety of frogs, insects, and even an owl. We hope to welcome you back for another adventure in the future!

Had the best time with Lyan as our guide doing the La fortuna night life tour. Lyan was incredible kind, knowledgeable, and fun to be around for our 2 hour tour. Time went by so quick as we were having so much fun. We’d reccomend this experience (and Lyan!!!!) to anyone!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you, Kaitlyn, for sharing your experience! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your tour with Lyan and found it both fun and informative. Your kind words inspire us to continuously provide exceptional experiences!

Such an amazing tour! My sister and I booked this last minute and so happy we did! We booked a 8pm slot and it was magical. Lucas and his dad took us through the property and we were able to see all types of creatures, even a sleeping sloth!! You can tell they genuinely care about the animals and loved being able to show them to us, even if they’ve seen the same animal 100 times! I would 1000% recommend this tour to anyone. A must do!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for choosing our tour! We're so happy your last-minute booking turned into such a memorable adventure. Encounters like a sleeping sloth make every night unique, and we're glad you got to experience that magic with us.

Great to watch frogs and nighttime bugs and fauna. Had a great experience . The guide was very helpful and helped us get pics
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for your thoughtful review! We're glad you enjoyed exploring the rainforest after dark and that your guide helped you capture great photos along the way. We hope to welcome you back for another wildlife adventure in the future.

Night tour in the jungle sounds fun, right? But it wasn't. Totally not worth the price. I get that you can't control wild life but the only thing we saw were a couple of frogs, ants, and a couple of small spiders. The path you walk on is a well maintained trail. I felt bad for a tour guide. He really tried to make the most out of nothing. Tour was a long drive from La Fortuna also. Truthfully they should be ashamed to charge so much. It really should be free.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for taking the time to share your opinion. We genuinely appreciate that you recognized our guide's effort and professionalism, as our guides work extremely hard to provide every guest with the best possible experience.
As you mentioned, wildlife is completely wild, and no ethical operator can guarantee specific sightings or a certain number of animals on any given night. The value of this experience is not determined by the number of animals observed.
Our pricing reflects much more than wildlife sightings. It includes access to a privately owned and carefully maintained rainforest reserve, professional bilingual naturalist guides, high-quality spotting equipment, operating costs, mandatory insurance, and the 13% Costa Rican sales tax already included in the price. In addition, booking platforms retain significant commissions on every reservation.
We respectfully disagree with the statement that this experience "should be free." Conservation areas, private reserves, trained guides, and responsible tourism require continuous investment and provide employment for local families. None of these services are free, nor should the professionals behind them be expected to work without fair compensation.
We understand that every traveler has a different perception of value, and we're sorry the experience did not meet your expectations. However, we remain proud of offering an ethical, professionally operated wildlife tour that supports conservation and responsible tourism in Costa Rica.

We questioned the drive to the location, but so glad we didn’t turn around. It was neat to see the jungle at night. Lucas was a great tour guide!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for sharing your experience! We're happy you decided to continue the journey and discovered what makes this rainforest so special after dark. The location is a bit outside La Fortuna, but that's exactly what allows us to explore a quieter and more natural environment. We'll be sure to share your kind words with Lucas!
Julia_R, Jun 2026
Enjoyed this tour, it was interesting learning about the different wildlife at night in Costa Rica, and we spotted many frogs and bugs. Would recommend. Definitely wear long clothes or bug spray.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for your recommendation! We're glad you enjoyed learning about Costa Rica's incredible nocturnal wildlife and that you had the chance to spot so many fascinating creatures. Great tip about wearing long sleeves or bringing insect repellent, it can definitely make the experience even more comfortable. We appreciate your support and hope to see you again!

Lucas was the absolute best and so educational! We found a 3 toed sloth and I’ll never forget how excited he was you can really tell how much love he has for animals!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for your wonderful review! We're thrilled that Lucas made such a lasting impression and that you were able to see a three-toed sloth. His passion for wildlife is contagious, and we're happy it helped make your evening so memorable. We hope to see you again in Costa Rica!

We had a fantastic time on our tour with Lucas! He was friendly and enthusiastic about pointing out all of the animals and insects and teaching us about them. Definitely recommend this tour. :)

Upon arrival our group of 6 were not on the private tour list despite booking over a month ago with Viator. The staff quickly arranged a tour guide and it was great.
Leah_D, Apr 2026
We really enjoyed this tour!! Our guide spotted so many things that we never would have on our own. Recommend!
Jason_M, Apr 2026
Saw lots of animals, tour guide was great! Only issue was their flashlights last about 30 min. They bring backup flashlights but we went through all of those as well. Definitely frustrating when you’re there to spot animals and you can only rely on the guide. Would recommend bringing your own if they allow it.
Tim_V, Mar 2026
This activity rating in probably highly dependent on how much wildlife that you happen to see and unfortunately we did not see much. Frogs were about the only thing we saw that we hadn't seen during the day. Our guide was fine - the group had 8 people and it was sometimes difficult to hear and see what he was referring because we were the group in the back of the line.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Tim. We're sorry to hear the experience didn't fully meet expectations. Please contact our customer service to discuss your experience further and address your concerns. We greatly value your feedback.
Grace_B, Mar 2026
Very cool to experience the jungle at night! We unfortunately didn’t see a wide variety species but the person leading the tour was looking so hard for things for us to see and was extremely knowledgeable.
Daria_K, Mar 2026
This tour was so informative! I learned so much and had so much fun. The guide was great and made sure everyone saw everything
Jeanine_S, Feb 2026
Guide was very knowledgeable and never rushed us. We saw so many different frogs, some lizards, a sloth and her baby, spiders, insects and birds. It was my husband's favorite thing we did in La Fortuna.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you, Jeanine, for sharing your experience! We're thrilled you enjoyed the tour and appreciated the knowledgeable guidance. Seeing such incredible wildlife must have been amazing, and we're especially happy your husband loved it too!
Benedikt_W, Dec 2025
The tour was excellent, we saw so many animals and learned a lot. Our guide, Aderma, was incredibly enthusiastic and passionate about what he does, which made the experience even more special.
Although the night tour was in English, he took extra time to simplify the information and explain it in Spanish to my 5yo daughter, so she could understand and enjoy it too. That personal touch really meant a lot to us.
We highly recommend this tour!
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Ademar’s enthusiasm is real and comes from years in the forest. We’re glad his energy and passion made the night feel special and that the wildlife delivered along the way.

Ademar has a special way of connecting people with the forest, especially on a first visit to Costa Rica. We’re glad the night felt educational, immersive, and memorable. Thanks for the strong recommendation.
Michelle_S, Dec 2025
We were a party of 6 on the 8 pm tour. Guide provided flashlights and safety briefing we were expecting to see more than ants and frogs, but it was an interesting experience to be walking in the jungle at night.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Night walks are unpredictable by nature, and wildlife activity varies each evening. Frogs are among the most common nocturnal species, and every sighting matters as each species plays a role in the ecosystem. The experience is about observing the forest as it is, not guaranteed sightings. We’re glad your group still found the night walk interesting.
Jim_B, Sep 2025
IT may have been better if not for the rain. However, the site was very hard to find. Kind of a hidden side road between a couple of house, then down through a gulley and a field. The tour was not particularly professional and polished. The guide did his best to find wildlife (mostly some insects and a few frogs), but was very limited with the rain. We didn;t go for into a forest, maybe 50 yards when it got fairly muddy and a rushing river we had to traverse. Better luck to others.
Liam_N, Aug 2025
Our tour guide Ademar was extremely knowledgeable and made the experience entertaining and fun! We saw lots of cool creatures (frogs, snake, sloth, spiders, etc.)! It felt really authentic, as the location was in a more secluded forest area. Would recommend to anyone looking to see more of the flora and fauna of La Fortuna!
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Thank you, Liam! We're thrilled you enjoyed the hike and Ademar's guidance. Experiencing the diverse wildlife in such a secluded area is truly special. We hope you'll join us for another adventure in the future!
