Huge shout out to Aldimar! He was such an amazing guide!! We learned and saw so much! This is our first time in Costa Rica but Aldimar left me feeling like a local with all he taught us about Costa Rica’s nature and wildlife! 5 stars for the tour and highly recommend requesting Aldimar, you will not be disappointed!

This activity rating in probably highly dependent on how much wildlife that you happen to see and unfortunately we did not see much. Frogs were about the only thing we saw that we hadn't seen during the day. Our guide was fine - the group had 8 people and it was sometimes difficult to hear and see what he was referring because we were the group in the back of the line.

Very cool to experience the jungle at night! We unfortunately didn’t see a wide variety species but the person leading the tour was looking so hard for things for us to see and was extremely knowledgeable.

Guide was very knowledgeable and never rushed us. We saw so many different frogs, some lizards, a sloth and her baby, spiders, insects and birds. It was my husband's favorite thing we did in La Fortuna.

The tour was excellent, we saw so many animals and learned a lot. Our guide, Aderma, was incredibly enthusiastic and passionate about what he does, which made the experience even more special.
Although the night tour was in English, he took extra time to simplify the information and explain it in Spanish to my 5yo daughter, so she could understand and enjoy it too. That personal touch really meant a lot to us.
We highly recommend this tour!

We were a party of 6 on the 8 pm tour. Guide provided flashlights and safety briefing we were expecting to see more than ants and frogs, but it was an interesting experience to be walking in the jungle at night.

Night walks are unpredictable by nature, and wildlife activity varies each evening. Frogs are among the most common nocturnal species, and every sighting matters as each species plays a role in the ecosystem. The experience is about observing the forest as it is, not guaranteed sightings. We’re glad your group still found the night walk interesting.

IT may have been better if not for the rain. However, the site was very hard to find. Kind of a hidden side road between a couple of house, then down through a gulley and a field. The tour was not particularly professional and polished. The guide did his best to find wildlife (mostly some insects and a few frogs), but was very limited with the rain. We didn;t go for into a forest, maybe 50 yards when it got fairly muddy and a rushing river we had to traverse. Better luck to others.

Our tour guide Ademar was extremely knowledgeable and made the experience entertaining and fun! We saw lots of cool creatures (frogs, snake, sloth, spiders, etc.)! It felt really authentic, as the location was in a more secluded forest area. Would recommend to anyone looking to see more of the flora and fauna of La Fortuna!

We did the 6pm hike. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we were able to see so many frogs and insects. This is a night hike through the muddy forest- wear running shoes or hiking shoes. This was also a bit of a drive outside of La Fortuna.

Staff was very transparent, accommodating, and knowledgeable. They definitely were looking throughly to show us everything they could. Walking around the property wasn’t difficult even with some inclines. Recommend arriving with your own vehicle, others had difficulty getting dropped off with Uber.

We had a great time on this tour! Would absolutely do it again. Ademar was really nice and was clearly very passionate about not only his job but the planet and all of its creatures. We saw so many super cool insects and animals on this tour and would recommend 100%.

Great guide, very helpful and informative. He knew about all the plants and animals and shared a lot of great information. You could tell he loved his job and what he did. It is very dark and if you don’t like bugs or the dark and jungle, this isn’t for you, but if you are adventurous, it is great. Very flat path and easy walking.

Liam was a great guide! We spotted many frogs and insects, and a few small snakes. Our guide was aware of the couple who stayed in front and blocked others from getting a photo, or hearing what he said. Liam made sure to repeat and have us get a good look also. The two hours was not a difficult walk and the bit of rain did not bother us. It’s a different forest at night so worth getting out after dark!

Our guide, Adamara, was fantastic. He waited out the rain to still lead us on a memorable experience. He spotted a sloth and knew where to find the frogs and other animals. He explained about the animals in a way even our teenagers enjoyed and had a great sense of humor. It truly was a unique and memorable experience. Thank you Adamara.

We got there a little early and the tour guide spotted some Howler monkeys in the trees! It was so cool to see all the night creatures! From poisonous ants to a Toucan in the trees and of course a lot of frogs! Very cool and educational!

One of the best parts of this jungle night tour in La Fortuna was when we turned off our flashlights and listened to the rainforest in complete darkness such a unique and peaceful experience. We saw frogs, insects, and more, but what stood out was how real and non touristy it felt. A must do for nature lovers!

The tour is over hyped. We spent 2 hrs in the jungle spotting only frogs that we have seen in past and one scorpion. Not worth it. Day tours are much better

This was the best excursion of our entire trip! Our guide Ademar was very friendly, knowledgeable, and has an amazing eye for spotting the wildlife in the area. We spotted creatures we would not have spotted without Ademar's guidance. We did the later 8 p.m. tour. Ademar began the tour with a safety briefing and went over expectations of the tour. The highlight of the trip was seeing a Caiman. "Looks somewhat like an alligator". In addition we spotted sloths, large bull frogs, a Tucan, various insects, cintapeads, millipeads, various ants, spiders, frogs, toads, snakes, praying mantis, scorpions, fish, crabs, and a massive blue moth! This was a true jungle experiance! You are already here for adventure this is the tour that will satisfy anyone's thirst for adventure. Checks all the boxes.

Wow! Hands down one of our favorite experiences while on our trip to Costa Rica. I was a little unsure about how the night walk through the jungle was going to go, but our guides made it a great time. We were able to spot many different species (frogs, snakes, arachnoids, birds, mammals). It was an easy walk. They provide flashlights to help you spot wildlife. The group was divided into two so it didn’t feel too big. The tour took about 2-3 hrs. Our guide took some amazing photos of the various wildlife and then shared with us at the end! Such an amazing experience. 10/10 would recommend.

We booked this night tour last minute and we are so glad we did! The 6:00pm tour got dark quickly and we had such a great time walking with our guide through the jungle and spotting different bugs, birds, spiders, frogs, possum, baby bats and a kinkajou! Our guide was so great about answering all of our kids questions. He was knowledgeable and patient!

This was a fun experience, group size was small and the property only had one other group, so it wasn't overly crowded like you see on reviews for other night tours. Saw lots of little frogs, some venomous spiders, sleeping birds and a sleeping howler monkey. I was hoping for some snakes and a kinkajou, but you can't control the wild :-) The guide was very knowledgeable about the species and the forest. Once off the main road out of La Fortuna, the roads are a bit dicey, but there are lots of signs and we were able to do it without a 4x4 in the dry season.

The owner of this company was very friendly and helpful. We booked through Viator whose policy is no refunds within 24 hours. Our daughter got sick the night of the walk. The owner let us postpone our tour to the next evening.
The location is about 30 minutes out of town. It feels like the middle of nowhere but is easy to find with Google maps.
We were a group of 9, plus our guide Kai. He gave us a briefing and gave us each a flashlight. Despite having us all check our lights before leaving, 2 of ours stopped working mid hike. Kai had extras for us to swap out. The hike was just under 2 hours. We saw a lot of frogs, spiders, and centipedes.
The hike had a few climbs and descents. Nothing too strenuous. We primarily wanted to see the frogs, of which we saw a lot. It’s nature. You never know what you’re going to get.
We left happy with what we saw. Kai was very patient and made sure everyone got a chance to hear what he had to say and see all the creatures that we found. He was very knowledgeable and explained about all the different bugs and frogs that we saw.
If you have a few hours open in an evening, this is a worthwhile tour. The owner contacted us the next day to make sure we were happy and to ask for feedback on what he could do to improve the experience. I was happy and felt like we got our money’s worth.

Fantastic tour! It was very cool being in the jungle at night. Our guide, Lyan, was friendly and informative and did an amazing job spotting frogs, snakes, and insects. (tarantula, various spiders, leaf cutter and bullet ants). That he could spot ANYTHING blew me away. It was impressive.. He was extremely patient in helping us find the animals when we couldn't see them, and took many up close cell phone pictures, sending us home with pictures we never would have captured on our own. Thanks Lyan.
Regarding directions: This is the one time Waze did us dirty. Waze sends you to a private reserve/sanctuary that does not do tours. The very nice biologist there gave us the correct directions, but using Google Maps gives you the correct route.
