I was spoilt that i was the only person on the tour so I got a 1:1 experience, which was incredible. The guide (Alex) was top level with his knowledge, his super powers to find the smallest animals in the dark and best of all, he found me a sloth that was on the move and was about 2mtrs away from me. His knowledge on the plants and animals around the farm was expert level and loved learning how chocolate is made. Highly recommend this to anyone!

Good hiking experience with enthusiastic, knowledgeable guides who are experts in spotting animals and help you to see them well

Everyone is nice, the chocolate making was nice. The rating is based on value, it’s not at all what was expected. It’s basically just walking around an area we could have easily done ourselves. For this reason we are not satisfied with the overall price we paid, not worth it

Booked a last minute chocolate night tour for my family- two adults and three kids. Our guide, Alex was super knowledgeable and funny. We toured the dark property and received an education on the chocolate making process and history while we scoured the grounds for wildlife…. And he delivered! We saw (with close up scope views) lizards, frogs, birds, insects, bats, many different fruits, sampled cacao straight from the fruit, and hit the jackpot with a super close up view just feet away of a juvenile sloth slowly moving his way across the tented roof of the plantation. Awesome! We capped the night off by making our own chocolate- from grinding to mixing our own ingredients into a chocolate bar. A great worthwhile informative adventure.

This experience was awesome! It was one of our top highlights during our time in Costa Rica. My daughter and I were the only people in the tour that night , so it felt like a private tour. Our guide, Alex, was friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. He has an incredible gift for spotting wild life in the dark. We saw a sloth, several varieties of frogs and lizards, birds, a turtle, and a possum. The chocolate making was fun and the taste testing was yummy. It was an educational and entertaining night. The walking path is fully covered so you don’t have to worry about sun or rain.

I hadn’t planned to book it initially but this tour ended up being the highlight of our trip! We were offered coffee and cocoa varieties before the tour and at the end. Our guide (Yen) was fantastic and not only pointed out toads and colorful frogs, a basilisk, multiple sloths and birds, but he helped me get some amazing pictures (national geographic quality). He was full of facts and we had fun making our own chocolate at the end. Highly recommend - we all enjoyed it, from my 6 year old to the preteens and the adults!

We loved the tour. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and made the walk really fun. He showed us many animals on the night walk and helped us take amazing pictures. The chocolate making was fun too. It was great to experiment with flavors.

Night tour involves chocolate only no coffee. Full process for chocolate making and each gets to actually hand make their own chocolate treat.
The night tour is on solid paths. We saw sloths, leaf cutter ant colony, a large tarantula, frogs, etc.

Wonderful tour. We saw several types of frogs , a mama and baby sloths, lizards and birds. We learned a lot about plants and trees of Costa Rica. Our guide was amazing at finding the wildlife and very patient, making sure everyone saw things through his telescope and got pictures. It was fun tasting raw cocoa beans and making our own chocolate. Our guide was very enthusiastic. You could tell he loved his job and was proud of his country.

This tour was absolutely incredible! Our guide was fantastic—so knowledgeable and passionate, making the experience both fun and educational. We saw an amazing variety of wildlife, from colorful frogs to exotic birds, and walking through the jungle at night was pure magic.
The highlight was making our own chocolate—it was fascinating to learn the process and even better to taste it! Everyone at the farm was incredibly kind and welcoming, making the entire experience unforgettable. If you’re in Costa Rica, this is a must-do!
10/10—highly recommended!

An amazing experience! Alex was a fantastic tour guide—engaging, knowledgeable, and full of enthusiasm. We spotted a variety of wildlife and had a blast making chocolate. The shop was filled with delicious treats and even offered free coffee tastings. Plus, the receptionist was incredibly warm and welcoming. Highly recommend!

The tour was amazing! Learning from start to finish of how chocolate is made and getting to make our own bar was so fun. Yen was the best guide and spotted many frogs to show us as well as three sloths. Would definitely recommend!

we kind of did this last minute because we wanted to see some nocturnal creatures. It was way beyond our expectations, we would highly recommend! We got to see some really cool, frogs, etc., through the telescope, and even had a sloth go right over our heads holding its baby, amazing! We also loved our guide who knew so much about agriculture and vegetation. Making our own chocolate bars was a fun bonus.

The guide honestly made the trip more fun. He was incredible and you can tell he really enjoys his job as he shares his expertise and charisma with others.

This was so much fun.amf we got so lucky with the sloth sightings!! Both kinds of sloths and two together, one soooo close!! Such a good night!!
Learning about the cocoa process and that I can't hate mosquitos anymore was so interesting and my nephew (and i) loved coming up with our own chocolate recipe. I highly recommend!!

You get to make your work chocolate and learn about the process along the way while spotting wildlife. We got to see three sloths and lots of frogs!

Our guide was very informative and pointed out a lot of really neat things on this walk both animals and plants. We brought out 3 yo with us and he had an absolute blast. He loved seeing all the animals especially the mama and baby sloth. He enjoyed making his own chocolate and getting to sample the rest. We would definitely do this tour again.

It's a night tour, so they lend me a flashlight. There is a promenade, but the waterside is muddy, so you should watch your shoes. They also walk where there is no roof. In case of rain, a camera and a flashlight block your hands, so you should have a kappa rather than an umbrella.
