Not worth it. Drive to Troy would not be too bad except our pick up from hotel included picking up other people from other hotels for a total of 1 hour. Drop-off at the end was the same thing so that meant 2 hours of our time was wasted! We were the first to be picked up at 5:50am. Guide was terrible and condescending too!

Thank you for your review. The pick up times from the locations in Istanbul and the tour itinerary with the duration is clearly mentioned on the tour page. The pick up and drop off schedule is organised according to the majority. And most of the travellers prefer to stay in Taksim or Sultanhamet area. 05.50 am is the pick up time for the locations further away from Taksim. The hotels and the locaitons change daily depending on the travellers’ choices joining the tour. And because this is a group tour NOT a PRIVATE one we have a daily route for pick up and drop off. If you prefered the private opiton we could have set an exact time just for you. This is the first time we hear a review about our guide Ibrahim.You can find many good reviews about him on Tripadvisor.

It seemed a bit hectic all the changes of vehicles , but it was actually very well planned, and they were very responsible, carefully checking who went where.
Personally I liked a lot crossing the Dardanelles.
Lunch was good; better yet with close feline companionship ( this is Türkiye!).
At Troy/ Truva/Troia ( you choose ) the guide was very thorough. A little tiresome to stand in the sun, listening, but young people probably didn't care.
Beautiful views of Marmara sea & Dardanelles.

The tour of Troy was informative and enjoyable. The guide was very knowledgable and did a great job explaining the history and the archeologists who uncovered the ruins. The meal was good and the rest stops were at gas stations with hot food service and clean bathrooms. The reason I would not recommend this tour is the length of the drive. The tour operator offers overnight tours with additional stops which would make the drive More Tolerable and might be a better option.

Tour and guide was great. Enjoyed seeing and learning about the 9 cities of Troy. Also got to see modern day Troy. Trip is about 4.5 hours from Istanbul. Lunch was delicious. Recommend this trip especially if you enjoy history.

Our guide was very knowledgeable. However, the trip was a bit rushed. We started Troy in reverse chronological order (im.assumong to save time) and then at the end, I had to choose between using the restroom and buying Souvenirs. I chose the restroom and then I only had time to grab the first magnet that I saw. I wanted to get a tshirt but there was no time to look at options or decide on sizes. Other than that, the drive was smooth (a bit long but that's out of the tour's control) but it was comfortable. Would definitely recommend. I'd like to suggest to mgmt to cut breakfast break a bit shorter so that the tour doesn't have to rush to catch the ferry back.

Once we arrived at Troy the tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the visit interesting. However, the trip itself is very chaotic with multiple bus changes, the lunch was disappointing and not of a good standard, additionally we had this at 1130. We didn’t get back to Istanbul until 940pm with no other opportunity to get food, as whilst we stopped on the way back (30minutes) at the same place we had lunch, they had stopped serving food. With a little better planning it would be quite simple to incorporate dinner into this tour. Overall I’m glad we went however wouldn’t recommend unless some changes were made to make the trip more pleasurable for guests rather than just a money making excrcise.

Thank you for your kind review. We give a break around 09:00 am for breakfast for 30 minutes where travellers can buy breakfast. And give a lunch break around 11:30 which is part of the tour. And on the way back to Istanbul we depart around 17:00 and give a break for dinner on the half way where travellers can buy dinner around 19:00 . The timings have been like this for many years for the breaks.There are not many options on the way for stop from / to Istanbul So the lunch and the dinner places are not the same. And depending on the traffic the arrival time might change and the durations are mentioned in the itinerary. The Gallipoli and Troy groups are using the same transport from / to Istanbul and after the lunch the groups seperate that is why there are a couple of bus changes

It’s a little difficult for me to find it interesting to look at ancient ruins, but I believe our tour guide did a decent job in doing this. I got the gist of the flow of events and I appreciated the numerous references to the 2004 movie to help with the understanding.
I believe the language barrier was a bit significant to be overlooked since there were some parts where our tour guide was mentioning singular words and I had to guess their corresponding meaning.
The tour logistics was well organized - the operators reached out to me days beforehand to confirm information, the driver shared that we would be having stopovers, and the tour office receptionist double confirmed each of our tours and transit arrangements to and from.
I’m not sure if this is a good offering for people staying in Istanbul since it would basically be 5-7 hours of transit to Troy, 2 hours in the archaeological site itself, then 5-7 hours of transit to Troy. Part of me thinks that this should be offered strictly as an overnight package, or limited to those staying in the Canekkele area.

Troy is amazing. The depth of history is something to behold. BUT. Probably avoid my mistake of doing this as a day trip from Istanbul. It is 5-6hrs there, and maybe 1-2hrs tour around the site, then 5-6hrs back. I advise to stay in the region overnight - there are other things to do, Gallipoli etc..
The tour operator were great though, pick up and drop off no problem and very well organised with transfers.
This is not a slight on the operator, but dont do Troya as a single daytrip from Istanbul. Make the most of your time. Unless you are OK to spend 12 hrs on a bus and ferries.

We did Troy from Istanbul. It is an extremely long day. We were picked up at 6:45 AM and didn’t get back to our hotel room until 10:30 PM. You only spend about one hour visiting Troy itself and the rest of the time is in transfer and a short period for Lunch. Our guide at Troy was very good and entertaining. The lunch was good. Overall, the trip was educational and it was interesting to see Troy, but be prepared for an extremely long day.

My partner and I were based out of Istanbul with no rented card, so this was definitely the best way to experience Troy! It was a very long ride in the van (I get motion sickness, so... Glad I made it!). I agree it's kind of unavoidable, but there is a ferry that goes from Istanbul direct to the location. Surprised we don't use that...?
However, the guide was wonderful and it was nice to get extra flavor text on the ruins and the area's history. This trip included a stop for souvineers, which was much appreciated. For the money and time, this is definitely worth it, specifically when you don't have many other options like we did.

The ride there was terrifying, with the driver driving entirely too fast, and the food served for lunch was sub par. Everyone was nice, though, and the actual guided tour of Troy and the history of Gallipoli provided on the ferry over were wonderful, though. Our guide explained things well and always answered our questions.

Had a fantastic time touring around Ancient Troy. Without a knowledgeable guide, it just looks like random rubble of various stone walls. Our guide Simke or Cindy was excellent at bringing the history to life with context and archaeological evidence of what likely happened. As an expert on the Iliad, it was great to hear her connect the dots from the Iliad to the actual structures on site.
Your company was very efficient in picking up, providing breaks and meals, driving and ferrying us to Ancient Troy. There’s a very high ratio of transit time to touring time, but this company managed it quite well. Def download some music or videos because you’ll be in transit for at least 8-10 hrs….

The walk around the ruins of Troy, to be able to sense the ancient city as it might have been, and the interweaving of the history and the myth made it come alive. I had known about Troy and the stories associated with it. the displays were informative and interesting.

Wonderful experience. The pick up was right on time. We travelled in a very comfortable minibus to the breakfast stop where you can buy a full meal or just snacks. It's then onto the lunch stop at a traditional Turkish Restaurant in the Gallipoli area. Our lovely guide Simge then took us across the Dardanelles by ferry. Our first stop was the Wooden Horse used in the 2004 film Troy. It was then onto Troy itself. As someone who loves the works of Homer and Ancient Greece it was wonderful to be in the ancient city. Simge is a great guide and told us so much about the different layers of the city as she took us around the entire site. It was then back to the ferry then onto an evening stop for food or snacks in the same place as breakfast. We were then dropped back to our hotel in Istanbul. The drivers were extremely good, our guide was fantastic, and we highly recommend this tour and the tour company.

Loved the day tour to Troy and was amazed at the ruins and the history connected with this site.
Visited the Troy Museum as well which was an added bonus. Highly recommend.

Hotel pickup went smoothly. The drive was fine, with restroom and food stops along the way. Our guide was great at explaining the history of the city and the significance of the different layers. The site itself is fairly compact with a raised boardwalk and numerous stairs giving visitors a view of various structures. There are restrooms and also a small souvenir shop. The horse replica was being reconstructed at the time of our visit. The tour did stop for a photo opportunity at the the horse replica from the Troy movie so if you absolutely must have a horse picture, that's your best bet for now. The drive back into istanbul and hotel drop off was pretty much the reverse of the morning. The driver was kind enough to drop me off at a different location that was closer to my final destination.
