Day 1: Istanbul – Gallipoli – Çanakkale (L)Early in the morning, meet your guide in central Istanbul and hop aboard your comfy coach for a voyage to Gallipoli’s historic battlefields. Along the way stop briefly for a quick bite to eat (own expense).
After about a four hour journey, arrive in Gallipoli and learn about the long and dreadful WWI campaign fought here between the Ottoman Turks and Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC). ANZAC, who was a member of the Allies, followed orders to sack Constantinople, but were met by a surprisingly determined Ottoman Turk army who battled them to a standstill. Hear about the thousands who fell in Gallipoli during nearly eight months of fighting as you walk with your guide through this historic site.
Begin your walking tour exploring the most interesting battlefields and observing quaint memorials which are visited by many foreigners every year. See the most poignant Australian memorial site - Lone Pine. Then stroll to the trenches of the Nek while learning about the soldiers who attacked from the nearby forest.
Next, head to Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial and discover a rare battleground where Allied troops were triumphant, but only for a short period. Continue to ANZAC Cove, where most battles were fought, and pay your heartfelt respects to the troops who died here. Then, stroll through Ari Burnu Cemetery and see where 200 servicemen lay forever. Observe more memorials at Beach Cemetery, Brighton Beach, and the somber trenches at Johnson’s Jolly.
Stop for lunch about midway through your tour and enjoy plenty of opportunities for leisure time to continue sightseeing on your own. Then, meet your guide at a predetermined time and drive to your accommodation in central Çanakkale where you will have more free time.

Day 2: Çanakkale – Troy – Istanbul (B, L)After breakfast depart from your hotel with your guide and head to Nusrat minelayer and Cimenlik Castle. Start the day with a walking tour and learn how Troy evolved from a series of small villages and became a Bronze Age dwelling only to fall as a Byzantine town. With your guide, hear about the ancient history of Troy and the Greek mythology of the Trojan War, a 10-year war started by the Trojan prince (Paris) who took off with Zeus’ daughter (Helen). Admire these historical ruins and then see the timber built Trojan Horse, the town’s icon. Afterward, spend some free time snapping photos and walking around.
Next, head to lunch at a restaurant nearby, before continuing through one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world, the 4,000 year old ancient city of Troy. Learn how Troy is thought to be the first place where people connected from the Mediterranean region and Anatolia (ancient Asia). Finally, hop back on your coach and return to your Istanbul lodging where your tour ends in the late evening.

Both days had very knowledgeable and experienced guides. Highly recommend you do the two day tour; many of my fellow group members signed up for only one day and lamented the 4.5 hour drive from Istanbul, the 4 hour tour (Gallipoli or Troy) then 4.5 hours back to Istanbul on the bus. Go for the two day tour and see both! Plan for windy weather in Troy (on average 280 days per year).
Gallipoli was amazing and well worth the trip down! We also enjoyed our night over at Canakkale, what a nice town, and the accommodation was fine. The trip was very long and wouldn’t recommend it for a one day trip, however with the night stop over was very manageable. The Troy tour was quite short in time and not as well put together as the Gallipoli tour, I don’t think we would have been happy had we only booked for the one tour, but Gallipoli really saved it. All tour guides were great. Overall would recommend
Great trip with Noursedah (spelling?) and driver Mustapha. We had a smooth trip to Gallipoli and learnt a lot while there. The maritime museum in Canakkale was very interesting and well laid out. This morning we explored Troy, which was amazing. Excellent meals, guide and driver.
Great trip. Guide was very knowledgable and informative, was always very pleasant and friendly and spoke very good English.
Meal breaks were very good (especially lunch on the 2nd day) and the accommodation at the overnight stop in Çanakkale was Of a high standard.
Disconcerting never given an itinerary for an advertised tour or direct email contact. I think the added Troy tour was tacked together. Gallipoli is a must. Quite well done. Being pushed out the bus and the hotel direction pointed out, mmmmm. Cannikale an unexpected gem. Tour in city great. Troy don't
I read the Iliad and the Odyssey more than a hundred years ago, when I was still a kid and I used to daydream of visiting these places which at that time seemed unreal and out of reach. I put them on my bucket list. I am happy to report that I am glad I visited those places. I wish I would have done it when I was younger so that I could tell stories at work and during my presentations. This is a must see.
Guide was knowledgeable. Great to be part of a small group tour. Thoroughly recommended.
Worthwhile for those interested history. Guides were excellent. Hotel accommodation excellent. Transportation system and punctuality could be improved. Like the Hotel pick-up.

This was an excellent tour. Going for two days with an overnight was rewarding and less exhausting than a one day tour. The guide was thorough and respectful of each travellers needs. We appreciated the respect Turkey has given to the ANZAC concept. Being from Australia this is very important to us. We also appreciated the knowledge we gained of the Turkish point of view.

Excellent guide who had a lot of knowledge about both Troy and Gallipoli. Itinerary was very good. Only gripes were our hotel too noisy lunch on second day same as first day but inferior and choice of dinner stop not good at all. Still would thoroughly recommend the tour though, especially to Anzacs. Great value for money.

The trip went exactly as planned and timeliness were respected. We could have spent more time at ANZAC and Turk monuments and cemeteries as some were skipped. The two day trip we took has is an abundant amount of free time in Çanakkale, which really wasn't advertised, but turned out to be fun.
Tour went exactly as advertised,with ontime pickup and departures. Our guide,Hamide,was very informative and obviously loves her job as she went out of her way to deal with any issues or questions that arose. It would be a very long day if doing the one day tour so would recommend the two day tour instead. Accomodation and meals that were included were good.
The guides were wonderful throughout, very knowledgeable and engaging. The trip from Istanbul to the sites and to all the places in between were done with great precision and the food given along the way was delicious! Highly recommend these guys.

I went on this tour by myself on a weekend.Stayed at the Sultan Hostel the night before and the return night. All worked out very well. The tour guide, Mr G, was entertaining, informative and helpful. The stay in Canakkale was really nice, great city with night markets and restaurants! Amazing time!
It was a perfect organised trip from beginning till end!
Pick-up from Hotel in time. Tourguides on the rides and scenes spoke English very well and were very informative. Drop-off also in time.
In the evening I stayed in an hotel in Canakkele very nice hotel!.
This was a good decision to make because I think in Canakkele there are more bars and restaurants than on the island and this is closer to Troje so my hotel pick-up was at 11:30.

Gallipoli was very impressive especially because I was ther at March 18th 2015.
Troje was also very interesting because of the importance place in historical writing.
I can recommend this trip to everyone!
This tour is spectacular.
The driver and guide were superb. Dyugu ,our guide , was very knowledgable and great company
The tour was well organised and accomodation more than satisfactory. Our downside was unfortunately the guide, as she didnt get out of the vehicle at each site in Gallipoli to tell us the importance of each area, and give us the opportunity to ask questions as we walked around. She gave us information while still in the vehicle, then left us to it. We all felt her approach as a guide was less than satisfactory.
Tour guide was the best!! For a bunch of history nerds, this was like two days of perfection!!!
The tour was very nice. Our tour driver and our guide were fabulous. I advice anyone to try this trip. The only problem was the hotel. It was 3 star and we couldn't sleep because the room next to us was watching TV from 8 pm to 5am. We hear all the films that he watched. The hotel should be changed.
