Wonderful Traditional Turkish Spa & Bath Experience

This Hamman traditional Turkish bath was an amazing experience. Not something to be passed up! You start off the spa visit sitting in a sauna followed by being led to the Turkish bath and scrub experience where they suds you up then scrub you down from top to bottom including washing your hair. Then you're brought to a massage area where the staff perform magic with their massage technique and lastly they put on a facial mask. You finish up your visit being offered tea, soda, coffee or water. They gave me all 3! You spend time lounging on comfortable lounge chairs and then proceed to a shower area. You can take a dip in their pool. This was an excellent spa visit leaving you feeling refreshed! The staff are wonderful at this spa.

Fabulous experience!!

Highly recommend coming here! Our family split up by gender and both groups loved the experience. We did the bath plus a massage, both were amazing. This was my first Turkish bath & I loved it. For other newbies, FYI no bathing suits or other clothing is worn. Women are given a pair of disposable underwear plus Turkish towels. Men just get Turkish towels. They have a locked changing room for you to leave your clothes & items in. Would love to come back someday!

We opted for the 100-min experience and it was definitely worth it. They used the full time, where certain parts were mixed together like scrubbing/foam bath. I’ve done massages before, but this is a uniquely specific one that I would recommend to try and it’s a great introduction to Turkish bath (hammam) since it’s a more private experience within a hotel spa. Service was wonderful and extremely caring making sure to check in with you throughout.

An excellent performance

It was a fabulous show in terms of music, costumes, and dance performances They stared on time, letting us in about 15 minutes early to walk around and enjoy the displays which were of historical and cultural significance. The show took 1 hour and it was a very pleasant experience. Their directions were clear and it was easy to find the theatre. The performances depicted traditional dances including the swirling dervishes.

Great for first timers. The hammam is in a historic building with a special charm. The service is excellent and caters to tourists unfamiliar with the ritual. You don’t have to worry about bringing anything with you—they’ll give you disposable underwear. You are essentially getting bathed and massaged in a wet room—you will need to be comfortable being mostly naked. Your hair will get wet (there are hair dryers) but you may want to think about planning your service to end the day and not go into another event. It was really lovely and I felt calm, relaxed, and squeaky clean afterwards.

We were greeted and taken to the lovely spa facilities at the hotel. Given tea and a full explanation of our package and what to expect. The pool and sauna areas were lovely and clean and relaxing. The traditional hammam scrub and foam wash exhilarating and then a soothing massage. All in all a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours in Istanbul.

Easy to find, and good comms - confirmed in advance we could bring suitcases etc. We wanted to leave bags early and then return for booking but they were able to accommodate us earlier which was helpful as took longer than expected (about 3hrs total for hammam and 1hr massage). Treatment experience was great, therapists great.

The Aga Hamam was an unforgettable experience for my husband and myself. The staff were very informative of what to do. We both felt comfortable. It is an amazing bath. The hot marble slabs to lay on feel so good! Everything was so relaxing and invigorating! If I lived here I would get one every month!!

Great experience

Experience was just as described + more. A friend and I went with the 30 min massage option. I think maybe they won't quite ready for us so they let us use the pool/sauna/steam room area first. The resting area did feel a little rushed--I just started sipping my tea when I was taken to the massage; the resting area was also hot (I thought they were supposed to be cool--I was afraid I'd sweat again after my bath!). They could also fix a couple of small maintenance issues- ex toilet stall door that doesn't close. The staff was very nice. I would do this again if visiting Istanbul
