What an incredible time! I didn't want to just visit the standard 'tourist' locations and instead wanted to learn and see more of what the 'real Istanbul' was like and wanted to be able to capture that in my photos. Karem was knowledgeable and kind and not only helped me to take some incredible pictures but also helped me to understand the context and history behind the pictures. Coming to Istanbul is a 'once in a lifetime' adventure and I simply don't have enough time to figure out all of the amazing places and understand the history behind everything. Thankfully, I had a fantastic guide in Karem and I didn't have to as he took care of everything. Walking through the city with him and going through some of the neighborhoods is something that I could never have done by myself but I am so grateful to have been able to see it. I feel like I have a small understanding of what the life in Istanbul is really like, a unique mixture of old and new, of centuries and tomorrow and a blend of many cultures. To be able to capture even a small amount of that in my pictures is a gift and one that I can't recommend enough.

I booked a sunset photo session with Elmir during my trip to Istanbul, and it honestly ended up being one of the highlights of my visit. I take a lot of photos when I travel, and I have worked with photographers in different countries, but this experience was on another level. Everything from the communication to the final photos felt smooth, easy, and extremely well done. Before the shoot even began, Elmir was great at communicating on WhatsApp. He responded quickly, gave clear instructions, and made it simple to find him in the busy Sultanahmet area. When we met, he explained how the session would go and instantly made me feel comfortable. He is very calm, friendly, and professional, which makes a huge difference when you are being photographed in a busy public space. We shot for about 90 minutes around the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia terrace, and nearby streets. Sunset in this area is absolutely beautiful, and Elmir knows exactly how to take advantage of that light. What surprised me most was how well he handled the crowds. These locations are packed with people, but he knows how to time his shots, shift angles, and position you so that the photos look clean and uncluttered. Several of my pictures look like we had the whole place to ourselves, which is impressive considering how busy it actually was. He is also great at giving directions. He helped correct my posture, fixed my clothing when needed, adjusted my positioning, and suggested poses that felt natural. He regularly showed me previews on the camera so I could see how things were turning out. That gave me a lot of confidence and helped us make small improvements along the way. It honestly felt like a collaboration… not just a photographer snapping pictures. The photos turned out absolutely beautiful. The lighting looks natural, the colors are warm and flattering, and the backgrounds are stunning. He sends a ton of photos, so be prepared to spend time choosing because almost everything is a good option. When I narrowed down my selections and sent him the file numbers, he replied almost immediately. The edited versions also came back very fast and looked fantastic… clean, natural, and professional. Overall, this is an experience I would recommend to anyone visiting Istanbul. Whether you are traveling solo, with friends, or with family, you will walk away with photos you are genuinely proud of. It is an amazing value for what you receive… the time, the expertise, the quality, and the final images.
