Very well organised, pick up and drop off in Istanbul went smoothly. We definitely scored the jackpot with our tour guide, Burak, he was amazing. His mix of knowledge and humour made the day thoroughly entertaining. It was a very moving experience and he explained it all so well. We learnt so much more and felt privileged and honoured to walk where the Anzacs did before us. Highly recommend this tour, it’s something we will never forget.

Long way to drive there but worth it. Started 06.30 from Istanbul. Back 22.00. Inbound drive 06.30-11.15. Outbound drive 17.00-22.00.

This tour is a wonderful experience we have been wanting to do for many years. It is solemn and emotional and also very interesting. The only real negative is the 4hrs drive to Gallipoli from Istanbul and the return 4 hrs. Not that easy especially with everyone crammed into a van filling up every seat. The operators need to be aware that this is very uncomfortable for some. We had a comfort stop on each leg and the opportunity for a meal break at this stop. At Gallipoli we were shown around by a very knowledgeable and capable guide in Cindy. The best 4hr tour we could have hoped for. She was 1st class and made the day informative, interesting all with a guide sense of humour and reverence. A very long day but worth every minute of it.

Hassan tour guide was great. More of a historian than a tour guide knew everything. Was a long day but worth it

It is a bit of a way to get there but it is worth it! One of the best tours I’ve been on. Chuck was our guide and had so much knowledge of the history. He takes you on the journey from beginning to end! Highly recommend.

This one full day trip to the Gallipoli peninsula is very comfortable and we were back in Istanbul by 9:30. Mercedes Sprinter 15 seater vans were very comfortable The lunch was basic and tasty. The organisation and coordination of the various trips by CrowdedHouseTours was brilliant. The guide was very good and knew his stuff.

Well organised and ran smoothly. Watch the weather, you may need to rug up and prepare for rain. The guide was excellent and his information interesting, but not overwhelming. The lunch was very nice, almost home cooking.

Great tour! tour was very fun and informattive! It was a long day so I would recommend packing snacks and water, though you will have breaks twice to get them at a gas station if you forget. I went when it was raining but it stopped on an off so not bad. Would recommend booking in March-October to get the best tour.

Make sure to check any messages from the activity provider so as not to miss any change of pick-up point.
It was a very long but also wonderful experience providing a much greater insight into the struggles faced by both sides of the conflict.

A comprehensive narrative and viewing of various different sites of landing and combat taken by the ANZACs during 1915.
The tour takes in the monuments to the Turkish forces and provides insight into the difficulties endured by both sides during the fighting.
Our guide was highly educated and provided in depth information about the number of men and women who ultimately died trying to execute a military attack that was poorly planned and even more poorly executed.
The tour underscores the friendship between the ANZACs and the Turkish people while also again highlighting the futility of war.
Beyond all this the Gallipoli peninsula is a really beautiful area and the views from the hills are spectacular.

We had a knowledgeable, passionate guide who vividly brought the action to life and dispelled previous falsehoods concerning the campaign. What we saw was excellent but they left out some quick wonderful sites to enhance the experience such as the metal trenches and statues that could have easily been included in under 20 minutes. Luckily, I had spotted it as we headed to lunch and walked back and did it on my own during our lunch break.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Thank you for your kind review 😊 It is a park located in the town of Eceabat. We prefer to spend the time in the sites of the battlefield. It can be visited independently during the lucnh time
Safe travels

We loved the tour of Galipolli. Barek our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, funny and friendly. His imitation Aussie accent and sayings were hilarious. A truly enlightening tour of this significant part of Australian, New Zealand and Turkish history.
It is a very very long day. We were picked up from our hotel at 06:30am and did not return until 9:30pm.
You will get a break about 2.5 hours into the journey for about 30 minutes at a service station. When you arrive in the area you are taken for lunch at a local restaurant for about 1.5 hours. This could be cut down in time to allow you to get back to Istanbul maybe 30 minutes early. Trust me after 11 hours on a mini van you will appreciate that small bit of time back.
You get about 4 hours on the battlefields and visit so many historic sites. Only down side was our driver spoke absolutely no English and when we were picked up we had no idea where we were heading. We wrongly assumed we weee being shuttled to a coach for the long trip to Galipolli but after an hour resigned ourselves to the cramped hard seats of the Mercedes Sprinter.
Overall a great but very very long.day.

The shuttle picked us up right on time. The vehicle was very clean. The leg room isn't the best so if you have long legs I would suggest taking the aisle seat to stretch out. The front seat was also available for someone to sit in. They drive very fast with the speed limit in some sections 130km but I'm sure they were going faster.
The morning rest stop was ok with the toilets clean. The rest stop on the way home wasn't the best. We were given 20 minutes so not enough time to order in the restaurant at the petrol station so most people just bought a bag of chips. As we arrived back in Istanbul at 9.30pm after a very long day this would be our dinner. The included lunch when you arrive was ok.
The actual tour of Gallipoli was amazing. To get an understanding of the terrain and the challenging conditions that the soldiers fought in was staggering. Our guide was very knowledgeable and was able to provide information from all perspectives. He also helped one tour member find the particular grave of a soldier ao they could lay a poppy. I highly recommend this tour to anyone, its truly worth it.

Great tour. There was good communication with the tour company who agreed to facilitate me by picking me up near my hotel when I informed them my hotel was too far from their listed pick up points. Transport was a Mercedes minivan with a great driver " Jack " ( who was possibly a formula 1 driver in a past life 😃 ). Out tour guide Bulant was witty , very knowledgeable about the Gallipoli campaign and an all round good guy. I managed to visit all the places, cemeteries I always wanted to and although it was a long day, we were back in Instanbul shortly after 10pm. There were 2 breaks outbound, 1 as a toilet break and breakfast at the halfway point and another near the destination for lunch and where we were assigned our tour guide. There was one break on the return journey near the halfway point. The food available at the halfway point is minimal because it's more like a service station but then again nearly all the journey is out in the countryside where towns are limited and the new road system skirts around most of the towns. Overall, a very worthwhile trip especially for history enthusiasts.

Long emotional day. The driver & tour guide were excellent. The changeover drive on return was the worst. Driving 118kmph in a 50 zone. Instead of tsking me to my hotel he put me off in an area zi didnt know on a 2 lane tramline. At 9.15 pm me 81 yo using a walker. Oh its only 100 metres down there. NO! I jade to ask after walking 200mts. Shop keeperc told me another 10p mts turn left & there was hotel another 100 mts. Not happy.

Our tour guide Hussain, spoke good English, and his knowledge about Gallipoli was so extensive. Long day but well worth it, come away with a deep history of the area, plus some sadness of the lives lost that day on both sides. Our driver also was excelleny.

This was an informative, detailed tour of the sites of Gallipoli. Our guide, Hasan, had photographs showing the battlefields and we stood in the same places they had been taken. It was a moving experience and I would highly recommend this tour.

I booked this tour for my husband (Australian) and a week later he is still talking about it :) it was the highlight of our Istanbul trip for him and he was lucky to get a guide who was right into history and has shown lots of facts unknown before. Great tour, I can definitely recommend!
