Paid for 4 VIP tickets, but when we showed up to collect tickets we were given back row deluxe tickets. No heads up/communication from tour operator. View was poor from row L. You won’t see much from the back, especially if you have kids.

Very quirky and traditional. Really enjoyed it. Worth understanding what will happen beforehand or getting audio guide. It does sell out so worth getting tickets before. Unless you get front row tickets it doesn’t really make much difference where you sit.

Overrated tourist trap experience

Despite being listed everywhere as a 'must do' in Hanoi, this experience was very disappointing: tiny seats with no leg room (and I am not a large person); poor performance quality; sweltering temperature inside the theater (on a cold day). Save your money and time for something else.

The water puppet show is definitely worth seeing! My experience with the ticket provider went smoothly. I was able to pick up the tickets directly at the ticket office at the theater. I appreciate that I didn't have to go to a different location for the tickets like I saw for other ticket providers. I purchased the skip the line option. Would recommend.

Since it was a holiday weekend with Reunification Day and Labor Day weekend. Many of the roads were closed to get to the theater on time. I arrived 10 minutes late and the ushers were so kind to let me in and guide to my seat without a fuss. Thank you so much. The show itself was amazing 👏.

Very traditional and nice show, though a bit touristy. We were amazed by the performance. Though it is in Vietnamese, there is not so much dialogue and you can understand what is going on from the context of the show. Excellent live music on traditional Vietnamese instruments is performed during the show.

When you arrive at the theatre, the person you will pickup your ticket from is to the side of the ticket booth. Don't stand in the regular line to pickup your tickets.

The puppet show was fun and like nothing I’ve seen before. Definitely would recommend going! Having a ticket in advance made it easier. The only challenge was finding the person I was meeting to get the ticket. Was standing in an inconspicuous place with no sign or anything to indicate she was the contact and didn’t seem to be actively watching for people looking for her.

Had a lovely night -the theatre is set beautiful area worth taking your time to walk around before and after. The show itself was quite amazing to see - and hear as the musicians are all quite amazing too. Also worth getting the unit that explains what is happening in your own language for you too- think it was about $3. Only negative the night was the number of tourists being inconsiderate and filming on their blocking the view of others.

I remember watching a Vietnamese water puppet show when I was a child in London over 25 years ago, it was wonderful seeing the show. Wonderful singing and music, not to mention the mesmerising but funny puppetry.

The Show was great though we didn't get English translation still we enjoyed it. However this company Viator charged 100% more than actual charge . i fully understand they need to have some cut on the charges . The charge is only 200K in VND so 4 tickets it costs only 48 dollar where the company charged me 108 dollars. Pl book directly and enjoy the show

I want to start this off by saying this review is exclusively about the services of the "skip the line" part of the package - not the Water Puppet Show itself which was great. I bought this package to try and simplify our scheduling and to ensure that we got great seats however what we got would have been the same as if we just showed up and purchased the lowest tiered tickets ourselves. We received no instructions on how to retrieve our tickets in advance and when we were showed up we were put into the general admissions line when we were expecting to be able to skip the line as is guaranteed in this purchase - I mean it's even in the name. After at least a 15 minute wait when we finally got to the box office there were no tickets reserved for us. I purchased a tier to get the best seats available and instead was given the lowest tiered tickets. Basically I paid $51 USD for two tickets that amounted to under $10 total and I did not receive any of the services laid out in this booking. They also won't give me a refund because apparently it's my fault for not retrieving the tickets even though I received no instructions and was never contacted by the seller at all. Do not pay for these, just get the tickets yourself and save the money since in this case spending extra money does not seem to save any time or effort. I feel scammed.
