- Tickets will be at the office 31 Lo Su str, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi. Late ticket exchange before show time 20 minutes would be applied as No Show and Non-refundable

The show itself was great! Entertaining and fun. Yes touristy, but we are tourists here and loved it. I suspect Charming Vietnam oversells the tickets as we paid using the Viator app then almost immediately got a WhatsApp message from Charming asking if we could change the time of our booking; we could not, so we attended the next day instead. Getting the tickets at the theatre was also somewhat confusing but it all worked out and we enjoyed the show! I removed one star for the ticketing issues.

The puppetry is very skillful and the stage is very unique with well-played traditional instruments and singing techniques. The audio explanations (extra cost) are well worth it to understand what each story is about.

I enjoyed the show, especially the musicians with their unique Vietnamese instruments. Puppets were were done. We sat in 4th row which I recommend. Well worth the extra dollars. Mixed feelings about audio. It was hard to hear over music but the narrative did explain the situations. A must to experience all of Vietnam.

This was delightful for all ages. The puppeteers were amazing and the musicians were exceptional. A short 50 minute escape from the crowds in Hanoi. Get your tickets early as many performances sell out.

We got 2 row seats at the end of the row and had a very close up view of the event. Do recommend this for an hassle free booking.

Water puppet show Experience was good but Viator experience wasn’t good .
We went to the theater 30 min early as indicated but the Viator person with the tickets didn’t show up 5 min before the show and they didn’t have the tickets for us for the time we booked. We were changed to a different time slot in the last minute and we had to change our plans to make the new time slot happen.

We had this show booked for 8 PM on Sep 2. Around 2 PM on the day of the show, the operator says the 8 PM show was cancelled by the theater and that they would offer alternate times. I was on my flight to Hanoi and didn't see this message until I landed at 4PM. I chose the 6:30 PM because I could not have seen this show on any other day during my trip. Sep 2 is a very busy day because it is the Vietnamese independence day and the Old Quarter area is overcrowded and gridlocked with many street closures. The operator should have shared these details with us so that we could plan accordingly. They did not. They claim to offer convenient ticket pickup but it is anything but convenient on days like Sep 2. It is impossible for tourists to get to the theater on time because of the crowd. The operator left our tickets with the security guard and left. We wasted 30 mins or more within one block of the theater and got to the show late even though we were only a 5 min walk away from the theater. Overall this was a great show and worth it but this operator is not very helpful or responsive to the needs of tourists who come from other countries and may not necessarily know how things might be in the main areas on important days such as the Vietnamese Independence Day.

I paid. The ticket was waiting for me when I arrived at my hotel. Went to the theatre. Skipped the queue. Went straight upstairs. Was directed to take my seat in the front row. Couldn’t have been easier.

Came to see the water puppets as it’s a Hanoi tradition. 45 min show. Spoken words are not in English so opt for an audio guide otherwise you won’t know what’s going on.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the water puppet show in Hanoi really impressed me! The performance was full of charm and creativity. The live music and singing added so much atmosphere and authenticity – it was a beautiful blend of traditional instruments and vocals.
The puppets themselves were funny, expressive, and incredibly entertaining. I was amazed by the technique behind the scenes – how they moved so smoothly and told stories with such humor and heart. The puppeteers did a fantastic job bringing everything to life.
It’s a unique cultural experience you shouldn’t miss. Great for all ages and truly one of the highlights of my visit to Hanoi. Highly recommended!

If you're unable to climb stairs this tour is not for you, collection of tickets was easy enough but when we arrived at the venue there was no way in apart from 20 step staircase. Can't comment on the show

Tickets didn’t arrive until 5 mins before entry even though we were told to be there 20 mins before for collection. There is no need to go to the ticket counter as this is a third party activity. A waiting area should be given. This needs to be clearly indicated to avoid panic
