The EBike-Gibraltar: Rock To The Top Tour was an absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. Our guide, Ian, was truly exceptional—he was informative, enthusiastic, and thoroughly entertaining. The bikes were in excellent condition and perfectly equipped to handle the steep hills of The Rock, allowing us to easily reach all the high points. We visited stunning sites, taking in magnificent panoramic views and exploring important historical locations. I especially appreciated the detailed safety briefing at the start and the fact that we never felt rushed. I highly recommend this experience!

Great adventure

Teresa_S, Jun 2026
It’s not easy going up the hills even with an electric motor. I am in my 70’s but we did it! It was great fun! I was proud that we could accomplish this!

We enjoyed the E-bike...

We enjoyed the E-bike tour-it was an adventure and our body is feeling it!! Our guide took great care of us!! We enjoyed the beautiful city

Excellent e-bike tour of th Rock of Gibraltar

croninfamily, Jun 2026
We really enjoyed this e-bike tour with our excellent guide, Nabil. The route took us from the airport adjacent to the Spanish border along the coast to the southern tip of Gibraltar before heading up the rock, with stops at the stunning St Michael’s Cave, gun emplacements and World War Two tunnels. Also seeing the legendary macaques up close. The e-bikes took most of the work out of what would have been at the very least a strenuous climb (and our 64 year old legs could not have done it on ordinary bikes), and I think we had a lot more fun than the multitudes who were on bus tours - especially on the downhill hill run! However this is not the tour to try and use an e-bike for the first time! It’s worth knowing that this tour allowed only a rather brief visit to the WW2 tunnels- if you really want to explore them you will need to plan a separate visit.

Top of the Rock

Leanne_H, Jun 2026
This was a great ride to (nearly) the top of the Rock. What I really liked was that we had a "tail end Charlie" and also a leader, which kept our group together. Nabil was our leader and he knew his history! He was also a very personable guide. Loved the caves, and the views from the Rock were fabulous. We could see all the way to Africa! The tunnels were also a highlight. If you enjoy the outdoors and fresh air, this is a must do while in Gibraltar.

Ride the Rock on e-bikes!!

HI Laura! very pleased you enjoyed your tour and we thank you for taking the time to reveiw. We suggest that no previous experience is required for the premium pedal-assist bikes we use, we give a very thorough briefing on how the bikes work pre-tour and the guide is available throughout the ride if there are any questions. Thanks again and wishing you safe travels! Stuart

So much fun!!!

sharischillerdc, May 2026
This was my groups favorite tour of our 2 weeks in Spain and Portugal. Ian, our guide, was great and knowledgeable, and gave us a lot of information without over talking, like some of our other tour guides had. The biking was so much fun, challenging (because some areas were pretty crowded). He taught us how to make the biking easy to navigate, yet still exciting and brought us to many historical sites, teaching us about Gibraltars role in history. I highly recommend it. My husband and I are 67 and 66, my Daughter and Daughter in law are 40 and 31 and we all loved it!

Response from Host, May 2026

Broken e-bikes

Sandra_M, Apr 2026
Tour guide starts off extremely fast with not much consideration for your safety. I guess the faster he goes the more you see. If you can hold on to take in the view. Vehicles going by very close to you while riding through the tunnel. Tour guide said to tell him if you needed to rest but at the end he commented that our group was the slowest group ever encountered. I had to drop out because my e-bike wouldn’t go into turbo and gear shifter visual indicators didn’t work. Another lady’s e-bike broke and she had to push it up the nature preserve road. I had already refused to go further and was taken back by a young man to the e-bike store. No refund was offered I was just told they would checkout the e-bike. My friend did enjoy the tour because her e-bike worked fine. The young man was very polite but the main guide said quit a few rude comments about how slow the group was.

Response from Host, May 2026

HI Sandra, many thanks for taking the time to review, we are very sorry to hear that we did not achieve a 5 star experience for you which is our goal for every guest. We are using premium pedal assist eBikes from Riese&Muller on all of our tours and it is very unusual for us to have any issue with them, but obviously not impossible. Your guide informs me that although there was an initial issue with changing between power modes this was remedied when brought to his attention and was not the cause of your retirement from the tour. If there had been an issue we could not have solved on tour we would have swapped your bike for a replacement as soon as possible which is our usual policy. There is a lot to see throughout the tour. The guides do their best to include as much as possible but in a mixed group we can only proceed as fast as our slowest rider. We are trying to achieve a balance between delivering as much as we can without our guests feeling rushed. We do advise that moderate fitness and proficient cycling skills are required for this route which ascends some steep gradients into the Reserve. When Mateo escorted you back to the shop you advised you retired because you were tired and stressed which is why no compensation was offered. Best wishes, Stuart

Rock to the Half Way Tour

Dale_L, Apr 2026
First the good, I had a great time on the bike ride and thoroughly enjoyed the ride around and up the Rock. Guides did a good job of handling the group. The e-bikes did all the heavy lifting. I am 70 in decent shape and probably hadn't been on a bike for 30 years (but was a bike nut when I was a teenager.) I had no problem climbing the elevations. Now two negatives. First, we did not go to the top. We got halfway up with the final stop at the Siege Tunnels. (We had 25 minutes in the Siege Tunnels which were not even listed as a stop on the itinerary.) We were not told of this until we were about an hour into the ride. I don't know when and why there was this change to the itinerary, but one of the other riders told me Ian said there was too much traffic on the narrow higher roads due to the shutdown of the cable cars. I don't believe it was because of time as I heard Ian say the group was doing very well. (I don't know how much longer it would have taken to get from the Siege Tunnels to the Top, but as I said previously, we had a 25 minute stop that wasn't scheduled.) Second, my wife and I were the last two to get bikes. My wife is 5'6" and they didn't have enough of the smaller bikes. Ian made a comment that there were a lot of short riders in the group. Ian started to grab one of the white bikes and another guest said it was hers. Then he got a black bike which was too tall. They changed out the seat had it as low as it could go, but that still left my wife on her tippy toes to stand with the bike. He told her that is what it should be. But, when I had previously asked about the height of my seat, he saw that I could just stand flat footed and said that was what it should be. Two minutes into the ride, my wife gave up feeling she was not safe. The second guide rode up to me and asked why she bailed out so quick. When I said she felt unsafe on the bike he said he noticed she was on her toes and he could have lowered the seat. So, even though riders gave their heights as part of the booking, they didn't have enough of the smaller bikes for the group. In summary, if they had a bike for my wife and if we had gone to the Top, I would rate this 5 stars - Awesome. For equipment / safety concerns, I would rate this 1 star. Therefore, 3 stars. (I said I would recommend this tour, but that is only if you get the full experience.) I really was looking forward to this tour.

Response from Host, May 2026

Hi Dale, I am sorry to hear that we did not achieve a 5 star rating from you and your wife on this occasion. We are using premium eBikes from Riese&Muller and have 3 sizes of frame. We are very careful to ensure that each guest is on the correct size for safety and comfort and very sorry to hear that this was not your experience. Even on the eBIke it is most efficient if the rider is as high on the seat as possible with still being able to touch toes on both sides. When your wife returned I was not informed that she had safety concerns caused by the size of her bike, we are happy to compensate the booking if this is the case. During the briefing that is read verbatim at the beginning of each tour, to ensure nothing gets missed and everyone is aware, the group is informed that there is a lot to see during the tour and we endeavour to get all guests at least to St Michael's Cave which is about half way up the Rock. After the Cave we present options depending on the time left. If there are guests who want to climb further to the top then this request is never denied, we can split the group when we have an assistant guide like we did on the occasion of your tour. We just need to be informed at the time. I am sorry that I was unaware of your feelings at the time so we could have attempted to make amends. The final stop on your tour was the World War II tunnels which is on the schedule and widely received as one of the Rock's premium attractions. If is for this reason that we try to afford as much time as possible at this location. There is a lot to see and a limited amount of time, the guides do their best to present and deliver the options requested by the group. Please let us know if you are every revisiting. Best wishes, Stuart

The Rock

Kim_C, Apr 2026
Be sure to know the basics of how a e-bike works and in good riding shape. The guide Ian was great and did a wonderful job of educating us on the history.

Literally incredible !!!

Gibraltar e bike

Stephen_A, Apr 2026
Excellent tour , very fun. Helps to be comfortable on a bike as there are times you travel near traffic and some hills, but the e bikes make it very easy. Guides are excellent.

Top Notch - the bees knees

Milinda_S, Apr 2026
It was an amazing ride. The views were spectacular and the guides were spot on. We had time for the siege tunnels. I stood where the queen stood when visiting Gibraltar. It was the best way to see the rock and it was freeing to ride up and down was euphoric. The bikes were well maintained and we had one seat issue that was fixed immediately. I ride a pedal assist e-bike regularly at 150lbs so no problem for me. My husband weighs 230lbs and rides his e-bike occasionally; no issues. My friend is about 140 and rarely rides and loved it. Now there were a couple of girls who struggled but it was more like they had not ridden in a long while. One said she would quit vaping when she got home. I would recommend you at least try a pedal assist bike before doing.

Such a fun tour!

Loretta_L, Mar 2026
Yusuf was a wonderful guide and we loved the e-bike tour. I was a little nervous about whether it would be too challenging but it's exactly as the website states- if you are in reasonable shape and can ride a bike it's fine. The assisted bikes work really well. They are of a higher quality than I've rented elsewhere which is a big plus for the inclines. The tour and stops were spectacular and we recommend this tour highly. It has been the highlight of our trip so far.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

thank you Loretta! i will pass on to Yousef, best wishes and safe travels. Stuart

Great Ride

DON_B, Mar 2026
Not a bad ride. Climb was easy for 60 year old man to do. Guides were knowledge and easy to get along with.

Our tour with Yousef was...

Zydrune_B, Mar 2026
Our tour with Yousef was great, an experienced enthusiastic guide with lots of local knowledge. The ebikes were modern and in great condition. With safety briefing and kit provided. The tour starts easy around the coast, but then after Europa Point the climb starts! The ebikes made it easy and enjoyable for us both, with our guide ensuring we don't miss any of the views.

Great tour!

Charles_R, Jan 2026
Amazing way to see the rock, there is some serious peddling even with the e part of the bike. Great guides, great tour…highly recommend.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thanks Charles, great to meet you guys, we wish you safe onward travels, Stuart

The Rock tour

dgeansjay, Jan 2026
This was a great tour, educational, active, a little strenuous, and fun. It takes additional effort to get up that rock, don't just count on the eBike, so you definitely get plenty of exercise. The views are amazing. And the cave was awesome. Our guide made sure we were informed and safe on the roads. And, he walked us to the best fish and chips spot after the tour, Roy's.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Many thanks for your review, I am very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your tour so much and your guide went the extra mile! I am sorry we were unable to achieve a 5 star experience for you, we will try harder. Safe travels, Stuart

Great but if over 200 pounds bike won’t take you up

Brian_B, Dec 2025
Our guide Frankie was great. We made several stops and heard about the history and geography. Unfortunately my assigned bike with my weight of 220 pounds would not get me all the way up even though I’m pretty fit The guide was as big as me and he brought his own bike as these don’t have enough power Everyone else made it up there The st Micheal’s cave was awesome too

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Hi Brian, many thanks for your review. The bikes have a rider weight limit of 140kg (308 pounds). Frankie was on the same bike as everyone else and despite is 60+years he is a very fit guy so dont feel too bad! Best wishes and safe travels, Stuart

Great way to see Gibraltar

Dan_P, Nov 2025
This was an amazing excursion and a great way to see Gibraltar. Our guide made sure everyone was able to keep up and had lots of history to tell us along the way. Make sure you are in average shape to do this. Still a physical activity.

E-bike to the historic inner earth!

Belkis_J, Nov 2025
Definitely a “must-do” activity for first time visitors to this historic Mount of Gibraltar. The guides Ian and Nabil were wonderful…both informative and cautious with our large group of riders. The e-bikes were excellent and very helpful to make it up those inclines. All the stops were interesting but our favorites were St. Michael’s caves, the entertaining monkeys and the WWII tunnels tour. Thank you again for a lovely ride!

Fun but not easy peesy ride up the rock!

Jane_B, Nov 2025
Jimmy was a great guide! This was very fun but it was work - hills are very steep. Make sure your quads are good. Got tons of history along the way. Would highly recommend this!

Do this tour when you're in Gibraltar!

Leslie_L, Nov 2025
The guides and bikes are top notch. The historical commentary wasn't expected, but it was very much appreciated. Really took the tour to the next level!

Great guides, beautiful tour, Be strong (in case)

CaroleD, Oct 2025
While this was an excellent tour with extremely friendly and helpful guides, you won’t know whether your bike works well going up steep hills until you’re on them and possibly failing. My husband switched bikes with me so I could make the last leg and his bike was so much more easy to ride!

A must do in Gibraltar

Toni_P, Oct 2025
Absolutely amazing way to see the island if you are able to handle the ride up the hills. Not extremely difficult but if not in shape wouldn’t recommend. Totally recommend. Our tour guide Dave was the best. He knew a lot of the history of Gibraltar and was very helpful with the bikes.

Beware of steep hills.

Craig_G, Oct 2025
Too strenuous for most people. My wife decided not to go after the guide gave his instructions. Did not offer refund or credit. It is a long and steep climb up the rock. Need to be in top shape.

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Hi Craig, we welcome all reviews but you have submitted a review on a tour that you decided not to participate in so I am not sure of its relevance. However, thank you for giving us the opportunity to clarify the tour description. I think we make it quite clear what to expect in the description that we assume people read before making their booking. We are climbing by eBike to the top of the Rock of Gibraltar which stands 424m above sea level. We have had 80 year old guests achieve this with us and I am sorry that your wife did not want to attempt to try. Moderate fitness is specified as being required as our premium eBikes do take most of the strain, you do not have to be in 'top shape'. During the pre tour briefing we explain that we attempt to get everyone at least to St Michael's Cave which is about half way up the Rock, and we then offer different options depending on how people are feeling. There is the choice to either climb further to the top or to visit alternative attractions in the reserve at lower levels. We also explained that we cannot provide a refund if you turn up on the day and then decide not to go. We were fully booked on the day of your tour and unable to resell your spaces with zero notice. Considering the lengths that we go to communicate clearly and comprehensively, and the hundreds of five star reviews we have received for this tour, I believe your 1 star is misguided. If you had spoken with me before your departure we would have tried our best to reschedule your booking to our alternative route around the Rock which is flatter and accessible to all. I am sorry we were not given the chance to present this to you on the day. Best wishes and safe travels, Stuart

Great ride and history tour

Donald_B, Oct 2025
Great e-bike tour led by Damien. Ride all over Gibraltar including up! Excellent e-bikes so easy to ride on flats and up the “Rock”. Damien gave excellent insight on Gibraltar history and current political issues with EU, England and Spain

Response from Host, Oct 2025

thanks Don, it was a pleasure to meet you all and we are very pleased that you enjoyed your experience with us. vbest, Stuart

E-bike fan to tour Gibraltar!

David_G, Oct 2025
This was definitely the best way to see Gibraltar! Fresh air, scenery and a little effort with the pedal assist bikes. Our guide, Stuart, also did a great job setting the pace, watching for our safety and sharing Gibraltar’s history!
