Showed up for the tour only to find out it was oversold and we were not able to go. Unfortunately, it was too late to book another tour. I could not contact the vendor, My Holiday Online, nor did they contact me. Unbelievable Viator would still issue tickets for a sold out tour!
This was a very historical and interesting tour.
Ash our guide, was very intelligent and knowledgeable both of the history and guiding us through the tour. His driver Lori was also very good. This was a worthwhile and memorable experience.
While the tour itself was fine, the chaos of getting 70-80 people on three vans was a nightmare. Larger groups were split apart, people were fighting over getting seats, one of the tour guides was prepared to leave people if they wouldn’t fill up seats. In the future, I would recommend they assign vans to avoid this chaos.
We unfortunately had a very foggy day and couldn’t see much, which also made the experience less than ideal but obviously not controllable.
That being said, our guide was great. Very knowledgeable and WOW could she drive that van in some crazy spaces.
A lot of fun. Erik was informative and funny. Got to see around the Rock. St Micheals cave was spectacular
Got to see many monkeys on the way down the mtn.
The tour was advertised as a two and a half hour event; however, it wasn't quite two hours. The tour seemed very rushed with the driver explaining the highlights of the area while negotiating the tough driving conditions which didn't allow time to ask questions. The tour did cover the spots that were advertised in the Viator information.
Was a great trip as driver got us close to the entrance and exit of st Michael’s cave
We opted to be dropped off in the city and got clear instructions throughout
Gorgeous place is worth going our guide Clive was very helpful knowledgeable and friendly made the excursion funny
Our tour of the Rock of Gibraltar and St. Michael’s Cave was unforgettable. From the top of the Rock, you can see the meeting point of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, the coastline of Spain, and even Morocco across the water on a clear day
it honestly feels like standing at the edge of two continents. Inside St. Michael’s Cave, the huge limestone formations and glowing chambers were absolutely breathtaking and unlike anything we’ve ever seen. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip! Just a word of caution - Walking inside the cave is dark in places and a little slippery
The tour company did not communicate basic information about the tour such as start time. I made numerous attempts to communicate with no response. The day of the tour the guide showed up late a travelers were left wondering if the tour they paid for was a scam. The tour guide was not prepared with a list of passengers. The rock of Gibraltar is worth experiencing but with another tour company. Having used Viator many times with positive experiences was surprised they would contract with such a bad tour company.
St. Michael's cave was incredibly beautiful, know that you will be walking around a damp, dark area but it was so worth if. Found some of the monkeys, listen to your guide they definitely know where to find them and the things you should do to stay safe. Our guide let us off at the old city so we could explore some and before walking back to the ship
The tour guide Peter was great, however the tour seemed quite rushed and was only about 1 1/2 hours as we left about 30 min late and got back at 2:25.
The tour was longer than planned, but not in a bad way, as we got to see the tunnels in the rock of Gibraltar, which were not listed in the description. Good value for seeing the main features of the rock, though I would have liked to see more of the monkeys. Great value compared to an equivalent sure excursions.
Very quick tour of the main sites.
Professional driver with excellent knowledge of Gibraltar and some humor thrown in.
Nice tour but a bit hasty with little to no time. Parking availability for tours are Extremely limited.
Great tour overall. Driver was 20 minutes late for our 1.5 hour tour which made it much shorter. He did not make up the time because he had another tour after ours. Driver was very informative. On a clear day you can see Africa but the clouds were very low so we didn't get to see it.
The overall experience was excellent. The commentary by our driver was so informative and humorous. Gibraltar was an excellent place to go and a great tour. Started a little unorganized but once the shuttle arrived, it only got better.
The whole tour was a bit rushed and disorganized. The lady that was at the meeting point did a poor job of separating and instructing the separate groups to the buses for the different vans. We were late getting started because our bus was late. That put us behind the rest of the trip and cut the stops short. The tour was still worth taking, but could have been better done with better results.
Great tour. Lots of laughs. Tour guide Gary was great. Says i need to add more characters to enter this?
Our tour guide was David. He was very thorough and knowledgeable about Gibraltar. He moved at a pace that was good for everyone. He knew a lot about the history and the Barbary Apes. Very enjoyable. The pick up from the cruise ship needs to be better. The actual pick up location was not made clear or well organized once you arrived.
After getting to the assigned meeting spot and waiting while everyone gathered, we were instructed to relocate to a different location. Then we were told to move again. Once the shuttle arrived 30min late, and they tried checking everyone off the list and organizing us into 2 different groups we boarded the shuttle's, only to wait some more. Once on the way up the "Rock" we enjoyed Brian our driver, he was informative and funny at the same time. We only had 20min to walk through the cave and not stop to wait on a show the had every 7min. We did get to see monkeys that were out by the road. Then we thought there would be a stop for shopping, but surprisingly not in town, but only the duty free shops, probably supported by the cruise lines. Then 20min walk back to the ship...We enjoyed what we were dealt with.
What stopped me from giving it a five star was the attitude and the rudeness of the women who met us at the bus stop. Asked question and got a bluntl .sarcastic answer.
The guide and driver were excellent, I learnt a lot from our guide who was very knowledgeable
Our guide was informative, funny and laid out the ground rules so that the tour met expectations. Would recommend. After tour gave recommendations on how to spend out time prior to leaving the port and how to get back to the ship with clear directions.
I liked that this was a small tour with a comfortable mini bus. We loved St. Michael's cave, it was definitely the highlight. We only saw a few monkeys which was a bit disappointing. 2 people on our tour were very late coming back from the cave, so we only did a drive by of the tunnels. The bus took us to the little town for time on our own and that was very enjoyable.
This tour operator never showed up. A number of other people from our cruise ship were in the same situation. We received no notification that the tour was canceled. We tried calling the operator’s number – no answer.
DO NOT RISK YOUR VISIT TOO GIBRALTAR With this tour operator.
We ended up having to hire an independent driver outside our ship. Fortunately, we were able to see the sites.
These people are unreliable and disc courteous. They could have ruined our visit here. Fortunately, we were able to salvage it.
Don’t make the same mistake we did!
Prompt pickup and very informative guide and great driver. Photo opportunities. Great value for money
Good experience for short time period- but expensive for 2hrs but convenient. Location meeting point had many confused and start time was delayed. There was no one with a sign as was indicated ini instructions. Guide was knowledgeable and driver navigated some tricky roads. Cable car was cancelled for others that day due to winds so glad we had booked excursion in the end via mini-van. Would be perfect if they added WW2 tunnel tour in.
Very rushed we left late waiting for the buses that were tge same bus as the cruise ship were using to shuttle people for free
This meant our tour was very rushed drove by heaps of places that would have been great to stop and look at except no time which was very disappointing especially for the money
Our driver was excellent he was funny but as far as the tour goes better value else where especially because we were back within 90 mins not the 2 hours as expected
We had a wonderful time. Tessa was a marvelous guide and gracious host. Jesus was kind, courteous and professional.
Great tour guide, very knowledgeable about the peninsula, the infrastructure, commerce and history. I would highly recommend this tour.
Our tour guide is Angel and he is very good and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this tour to friends.
