Sorry I was quite disappointed with this tour. It is advertised as being around two and a half hours but the reality was one hour forty minutes which is a massive difference. Everything was super rushed and that’s why I’m so disappointed. We paid £120 for two tickets only to spend 15 minutes at St Michael’s Mount and 25 minutes in the tunnels. We spent 10 minutes by a lighthouse/ viewing point which was absolutely fine but the rest of it was rushed. Shame as the guide was informative.

The attractions are great, but the tour company Blands was horrible and disorganized. Found the meeting location no problem with Google Maps, not sure why others had difficulty there. The tour appeared overbooked, as there were no buses/drivers for about 45 of the 60 people waiting.
We started the tour 30 minutes late due to a lack of buses/drivers but were assured by the check in rep that it wouldn’t impact our total tour length or time at each attraction. We finished and were back to the meet up location in less than 2 hours (1:00-2:55pm), very disappointing.
Upon his eventual arrival, the driver shared with us he was “stressed” and complained about his prior group and the state of the world. He had a cynical attitude and sense of humor throughout which detracted from limited bits of information he did choose to share. He drove like crazy and cut our time short at each stop, likely so he could still be off work on time.
St. Michael’s Cave was beautiful but we didn’t even have time to sit and watch the brief light show they do because the driver said to be back at the bus in 15 min. He completely skipped the Ape’s Den and tried to pass off a random pullout as the location instead. The “guided tour” at the WWII tunnels (stated in this tour’s description) is nonexistent. On top of that, the driver told us to stick to the museum and not even venture out to the tunnels because we only had 25 min. This was our last stop so he could have given us at least 45 min and still finished in less than the 2.5 hours we paid for.
The sites/sights are great, but this company doesn’t care about service or providing what you as a customer pay for. The rating on this tour has dropped since I booked it months ago and I can see why. They are clearly taking advantage of the tram closure and overbooking their tours. If no one cancels, the customer suffers while they rake in money.
We booked a tour because we were worried it would be difficult to hire a car/taxi to take us to the top of the rock given the increased demand from the tram closure, but they were all over the place in town. If you’re comfortable going that route, I would recommend it.
This tour was not at all worth what I paid. It started 30 min late, was 20% shorter than advertised, did not include a guided tour of the WWII tunnels or a visit to the Ape’s Den. Our driver had a poor attitude and was unprofessional. I requested a partial refund because of all of the above and was denied within minutes after they “thoroughly reviewed” my comments. Viator should remove this vendor from their site, as it is bad for their reputation.
See these sites, but not with Blands.

Loved all the stops but they were too short. When we booked our ticket said it would last 3 hours and it actually lasted 1hour 45 minutes. Felt rushed and would love to have spent more time in the Churchill tunnels.

Hello, thanks for your review - we appreciate your feedback. Glad you enjoyed the tour.

The beginning of the tour seemed fairly disorganized. The 2 buses needed for our group showed up 30 min after the start time. Therefore our tour was shortened by 30 min to ensure we didn’t miss our ship. (Most of us were on a cruise.) However they still returned us to the port 1.5 hours before all aboard. The places we went were awesome but too short. Our 1st stop was Europa Point. We were given 10 min there which was appropriate. We were given 20 min at St Michael’s Cave where the monkeys also roam. I would have liked 5-10 more min here. We were given 10 min at a photo stop that could easily be shortened or skipped. Then we were given only 25 min at the Great Siege Tunnels. This is a ridiculously short time. We walked thru very quickly, not reading most of the plaques and still saw barely half of what was there. FYI, it is a self guided tour, without time to read 90% of the information available. I’m guessing it would take 1 - 1.5 hours minimum to truly appreciate this historical site. We still don’t really know what the purpose of it was or what happened there. This has the potential to be a great excursion if they gave adequate time. Our guide was awesome and did give us some info about the area as he drove.

Don’t print off your tickets! There is NO mention of Viator wherever you go. Total confusion to try and find your guide and minibus!! It is however a brilliant trip that covers all you need to see in Gibraltar. And if you can have Peter as your guide/driver, even better.

Thanks for your review. Glad you enjoyed the tour.

This is scheduled to be a 2.5 hour tour. 10 minutes at Europa appoint, 20 minutes at St Michael's cave, 25 minutes at world war II cave. It feels very rushed though not the drivers fault.
If you come from a cruise it is a 25 minutes walk from the ship. The meeting place is in the parking garage. The car engine was on while we were waiting so it's full of fumes.
I wish this tour was longer and started earlier.

Even though I felt rushed, this tour was a good experience. Our driver/tour guide took us back to our ship, which we all appreciated.

Tour itself was good. A little rushed so it's very fast paced. Loved the WWll tunnels and St Michaels cave. The monkies were cool too. The problem with the tour company however was very painful. They were not organized at all. They kept everyone waiting for over an hour after our tour was supposed to start, standing in a 2nd floor parking garage. A lot of older people didn't have anywhere to sit. Then when someone finally explained their buses from first tour we're running behind, but didn't mention there wasn't enough buses for how many people were waiting. (Over 100 people) In the end 26 people waited an additional 30 minutes to find out they were not getting on the tour. We were lucky to get the last bus and the driver was kind, efficient and knowledgable. He made sure we got back to our cruise ship just in time by dropping us off right at the port. Great guy!

The tour bus left the Midtown Garage 30 minutes late. Although the highlight of the tour was to be the WWII tunnels, our bus did not stop for this attractions. The many other attractions on the excursion were excellent. Tour guide was helpful. The driver even took us back to the cruise ship directly.

Michael_S, Mar 2026
The bus driver was terrific and did an excellent job getting us to all the important sites safely and efficiently. His professionalism really stood out and was a highlight of the excursion.
Unfortunately, the pre-boarding process was very poorly organized. We waited in a parking garage for about an hour and a half with only two people checking guests in, which caused significant delays and frustration. The lack of coordination at the start took away from what could have been a much more enjoyable experience.

Waited 50 additional minutes before the vans arrived. Because of this the tour was very rushed. Apparently this is a regular occurrence. Peter was a fantastic tour guide/Driver.

Meeting place difficult to find. Tour operators were disorganized and blamed our 25 minute late start on busy roads. We, along with many others, were put on the wrong bus and didn’t get the tour we paid for. A 2 1/2 hr tour ended up being only 1 1/2 hours. Very disappointing!

The meeting circumstances were completely disorganized. When we arrived to the parking garage, there had to be about 100 people there. Apparently, the required number of buses were not available. We were given no formation as to what was happening despite the tour running more than 1/2 late. When we finally got on our bus in a very haphazard and stressful way, our bus and tour guide was excellent. Unfortunately, there was not nearly enough time alotted for the visit to the museum within the caves.

We booked this tour especially to see the WWII tunnels. Bland Travel was totally disorganized. A large group of customers were kept waiting for 30 minutes. We were placed on mini-bus with about 20 other person. Most of whom like us had paid for the tour with the WWII tunnels. We were very disappointed when we were told by our driver Yousef that our tour didn’t include these tunnels as he drove by the entrance.
Viator should remove Bland Travel from their website. This company reflects poorly on Viator as well as themselves.

There were power outages first in Gibraltar which caused us to start 20 minutes late and then at the WW2 tunnels so we weren’t able to enter - not the tour company’s fault but we should have gotten some refund for the tickets and shorter tour. The driver/guide did the best he could but we did not receive what we paid for - this was expensive for 5 people and we should have received at least a partial refund. When a tour is through Viator but they don’t deliver it I have no idea how to get remuneration.

We were so excited about this trip but were left extremely disappointed. We arrived in the meeting point on time, to be told that the bus had already left without us. I messaged and called Viator who said that the bus had left and that they had called me numerous times. They had not done this but actually called Viator. We found this out as a mechanic working for the company, (Blands travel) saw us waiting around in the car park and helped us! He rang the company directly for us to find out what had happened. This guy, Jordan was so amazing. He ended up driving us up the rock instead to meet the driver. This driver had been called by Jordan and asked to wait for us at a point up the rock for us to catch up, but again, still drove off for a second time! We missed at least 45 minutes of the tour and when we finally got to the caves, we only had 30 minutes to look inside.
Donald_P, Mar 2026
We booked this tour expecting it would take roughly two and one half hours. We were dropped off in the city centre (at our request) one hour and forty five minutes after leaving the meeting point. The tour was great as far as it went but more time could have been spent in the WWII tunnels, there is a lot to see here and it seemed rushed. That would have left us satisfied as to the value of the ticket price. Our experience is that the tour operators have a captive market and you are at their mercy.

I loved this tour! So much was crammed into our itinerary - we got to see way more than I ever expected! A stop at a cool lighthouse, WWll tunnels that were amazing, some jaw dropping caves with amazing stalactites that was just breath taking and of course the monkeys! It was a little challenging to figure out where the meeting spot was - it's in a combination office building/parking garage and you go up to the 2nd floor where there are a bunch of buses parked and just stand there until the tour guide arrives. I loved the fact that he immediately assured us that we would be back at the ship in plenty of time and even drove the bus right to the ship at the end of the tour. I wasn't sure what to expect and this tour far exceeded my expectations.

It was a wonderful day exploring Gibraltar, even though the wind was strong at times. Our guide, Angel, did an excellent job bringing the history and landscape of the Rock to life throughout the tour.
We began at Europa Point, standing at the southernmost tip of Gibraltar where the views stretch across the Strait toward Africa. From there we traveled up the Rock to the spectacular St. Michael’s Cave, whose dramatic stalactites and cathedral-like chambers were truly impressive.
One of the highlights was seeing the famous Barbary macaque—the only wild monkeys in Europe—playfully roaming the upper Rock and posing for photos. We also visited the fascinating World War II Tunnels (Gibraltar), an extraordinary underground network carved into the limestone during the war, where Angel provided vivid commentary about how the tunnels were used for military operations and daily life inside the Rock.
Angel’s narration throughout the drive was engaging and informative, giving us a deeper appreciation for Gibraltar’s strategic importance and layered history.
The tour operators were also very thoughtful regarding accessibility. My cousin was not able to bring his walker onto the bus, but the staff kindly stored it safely while we toured. Afterward, they returned us to retrieve the walker and then drove all of us back to the cruise terminal, dropping us right at our ship, the Sapphire Princess. That level of care and service made the day even more enjoyable.
Despite the windy weather, it turned out to be a memorable and very well-organized excursion.

Found it disorganized. Could not hear driver/ guide ( no mic) usb audio sometimes in advance of site and sometimes behind good visit to st Michael’s cave but only allowed 20 mins in Ww2 tunnels and back at start in under the 2.5 hours. Ww2 tunnels need longer than the allotted time

Very nice. Guide was hilarious. Very informative. I stayed at the last stop of our tour to spend more time at the WW 2 tunnels and he gave me great instructions on how to get back to my hotel

We enjoyed the tour very much, and our driver was pleasant. Although we saw everything, we felt rushed, especially at the military caves. We were allotted 25 minutes and it wasn't nearly enough. There is a lot to read & explore but we really had no time. 3 hours would have been much better especially for the cost.

Even though the temperature was in the high teens , you will need a wind breaker as it’s extremely windy. It was a great tour, if you wish to have more time in St Michael’s caves and the WWII tunnels book a longer tour otherwise it was a great tour and we really enjoyed it.

Really good tour, knowledgable and freindly guide. Covered most of the key points with about the right amount of time at each stop - except for the tunnels. Thirty minutes is enough for a taster but really you need much longer there

Amazing trip loved it. Apart from seeing the apes St Michael's cave were amazing. WW2 tunnels were superb if you're interested in WW2 history you will love this. Everything about this tour was fabulous and our guide Tony was brilliant.
The reason I haven't given it 5* is there just wasn't enough time in the WW2 tunnels, 25 minutes is just not long enough I rushed through, didn't read anything and didn't even see it all.

I did the WW2 tunnels and Rock tour, pick up was from a central location in Gib, there were a few Americans on the tour who were from a cruise ship. David our driver informed us of the itinerary for the journey and that he would return the cruise ship passengers to the port for 230 ( tour was meant to be 2.5hrs in length) after the first stop I enquired to David about the short itinerary, he explained he had been told to make it short because of the cruise ship passengers. This was disappointing as the main part of the tour for me was the WW2 tunnels. David told me a little bit later that her would drop me at the tunnels and pick me up later once he has dropped the Americans off so I could spend more time at the tunnels. I later said I would walk back to town as it was a nice walk and a sunny winters day. David was very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Thank you for your feedback, sorry to hear this however David accommodated you and you were able to enjoy the WWII tunnels.
