The meeting point will be Library Ramp, which is across from the front entrance to the Eliott Hotel in the City centre. I will be at the bottom of Library Ramp, standing under the Library Ramp Street Sign, and be wearing a Gibraltar Official Licenced Guide Badge.

This was a fantastic tour and Stephen was exceptional. While it is a challenging climb up the Rock to the top, as two people in our mid-sixties, we would highly recommend it to others… especially those interested in WWII. The only reason we did not give it 5 stars is because we had a rainy, foggy day which impeded some of our views. Even under those conditions, we would highly recommend this once in a lifetime tour.

It was a fantastic walking tour. Stephen was very friendly and knowledgeable and most importantly had the patience to go at a slower pace to match mine. It was a challenge, but I am so thrilled that we did the Med Steps - the views are truly amazing. I cannot recommend this tour enough.

Loved it! Very strenuous so be honest with yourself especially if you want to take the Mediterranean Steps option, BUT Stephen is extremely flexible and will make it work for any activity level. Knowledgeable, flexible, with an easy going approach - this tour will not disappoint if you want an up close and personal tour of the Rock.

I agree that the Mediterranean Steps can be strenuous, especially in July and August the hottest months in Gibraltar.
Personally I love taking that route to the top, however I do offer people an easier route if people want a less demanding tour.

We had a great tour with Stephen, hiking up to the top of the Rock and visiting a number of the sites within the Nature Reserve, including Skywalk, St. Michael’s cave, the WWII museum, and the Barbary Apes. He was very informative about what we saw and experienced. The views from the top over Gibraltar, over to Spain and Africa, are wonderful. This is a tour for people who want to learn about Gibraltar (and especially its WWII history) while also enjoying the climb and hike. Stephen let us set the pace.

Our guide was knowledgeable, kind and professional. He not only taught us about the history of Gibraltar, but also went out of his way to recommend local experiences while here. It was a tough climb up the hill if you’re not used to walking or running, but he was patient and made it easy for us. This tour was worth it!

Stephen is an excellent guide so knowledgeable.
I was slower than the rest of the group and worried I held everyone up but everyone was so patient and friendly.
Highlight was the monkey helping himself to ice cream from shop freezer and having the decency to close the door after!
Stephen offers which route to take to the top. It is quite a challenge but so worth it when you reach the top.
This was definitely the highlight of our trip and we highly recommend.

The upper rock walking tour is incredible. Stephen our guide met us at Libary Ramp at 1pm. We were accompanied by two lovey American couple's who we chatted to on our walk and were like old friends when we decended back down. St Micheals cave is a must, as are the tunnels it's quite astounding what is in the Rock. Stephen is a great guide, he made sure everyone was okay with the walking and stopped for a rest if we needed it. Take water with you and comfy trainers and go and enjoy the fantastic views....incredible. I'm definitely going again.

Stephen was a great guide, very knowledgable and patient. The views were beautiful.
We had to walk from the Cruise Port because there are no taxis for a simple ride, they all want to be your tour guide for the day. We would have used the shuttle if we had known, but once we figured that out, we didn't have time to wait in line for it.
We probably had one of the hottest days with a few whiney teens (and adults) The 'walk' is mostly up hill, up steps and steep at times. It's really more of a hike and seems like the whole Rock, not just the 'upper'.
It's a vigorous activity, even for those that are moderately fit. But if we knew how difficult it would be, I don't think we would have done it and I would only recommend it if you are in great shape. We tracked 24,000 steps and 110 floors that day, sore calves for day.

I am sorry that you were unable to find a Taxi and that you found the Tour was not as easy as you had expected it to be.
I think it was the hottest day of the year so far in Gibraltar and, although the route we took was probably in the region of 5km, I know it can seem much longer and far harder when its unusually warm.

Our guide Stephen was great. We got to see plenty of monkeys, learned alot about the areas history and saw some great scenery!
We did this tour on a 95F day, it’s a lot of walking up hill, older folks in our group and those with young children had some struggle. If you’re fit, it’s no problem.

Stephen ended up giving us a private walking tour as the other party underestimated the amount of steps. Stephen adjusted the tour to our liking and we saw everything and had a blast. The Med Steps have crazy nice views, the monkeys on the hill were amazing. The stop in the cave was a nice break and was beautiful. He shared so much information - do not hesitate to book this tour he is amazing!

I highly recommend this small group experience as an alternative to driving or the cable car. It provides access to amazing views and hidden gems off the main trek and away from the crowds. Stephen's knowledge of Gibraltar is extensive, which gave us a better understanding and appreciation of its history and insight into its current climate.
When I first set sight on the rock I had concerns about my ability to climb it, as I am no athlete and who has only moderate fitness. But Stephen is so accommodating and understanding of your capabilities and made the walk very enjoyable.
This is an experience not to be missed!
