Good tour of Rock.

Royal_K, Apr 2026
Not sure what we paid for. The minibus tour was great and our guide was very good. Cave was very colorful and pretty and we got entrance to that with tour. Seemed like most of the rest they didn't charge for, we just walked in. Enjoyed our time, but as I said, other than the 2 hour minibus tour and cave, not sure what we paid for. Also, tried to take bus from town to border/airport and couldn't find stops for bus. So much construction going on, many stops are in different places than maps show.

CharLotte_V, Mar 2026
It was a fun experience, some of the activities on the rock was closed, but was still worth the visit 😊

Needed another ticket other than the one supplied by Viator. .

Angelique_C, Nov 2025
After purchasing your tickets and clicking “get your tickets” you get a barcoded ticket. Then you receive an email that says to put your email address in again to get your ticket?? I thought it was a scam until I reached the bus only to discover I needed to follow the instructions on the second email to resend my email to receive the correct ticket. This delayed our experience by 30-45”.

Only try walking to...

Iain_S, Nov 2025
Only try walking to everything on the rock if you are reasonably fit. The caves take a lot more time than you might think.

Saddened due to traffic and congestion

Joy_W, Oct 2025
If you are in a time crunch at all, please do not go. We waited for two hours to get through border patrol due to construction!!! We were very saddened for all the things that we missed and very disappointed that there was such a delay to even get through the line due to traffic and hectic environment. We never even made it to scan our tickets in for an activity.

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Sorry to hear about your experience at the border queue and the traffic. Nevertheless, this has nothing to do with the GibraltarPass product itself.

Plan Your Visit Carefully!

Orlando_D, Aug 2025
The cable car is separate from the other activities. It’s best to use a cab or an agent if you are interested in the other activities.

Rip-off

Majid_M, Apr 2025
This experience was a complete rip-off. First of all, the tour operator failed to clearly inform us that there were two separate options for getting to the top: 1. By car 2. By cable car The way it was explained made it seem like we could use both options. When we arrived at the meeting point, I asked when we would be using the cable car, only to be told that we could choose just one. Since we had already paid for the cable car, we stuck with it—big mistake. The cable car was a total disaster. We ended up waiting over three hours due to poor management. People who hadn’t pre-paid were just allowed to merge into the line, making the wait unbearable. It absolutely wasn’t worth it. My advice: skip this ticket entirely. Just go directly to the cable car station, and for around 10 euros extra, you can join a minibus tour there. Don’t waste 100 euros on this tour when you can do something better for half the price. Avoid this scam.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Dear Majid, Sorry to hear that this was your experience but you have contacted our support team the day before your visit asking to clarify how the Pass works and we have specifically wrote to you that you have the choice of reaching the attractions either by cable-car or by minibus Rock Tour, but not both. Moreover, at short notice we were able to secure places for you on the minibus Rock Tour and even after you made a mistake and booked just 1 place on the minibus tour instead of 4 places we were able to correct this for you and reserve 4 places for you on the minibus Rock Tour. You then showed up on the day of the tour and after arguing with the staff there you decided not take the minibus tour and do the cable-car instead, which means we have lost 4 places on the tour which could have been used by other visitors. On the date of your visit there were two cruise liners in port which meant there was a big volume of visitors to the cable car in a short space of time which resulted in long queues. The GibraltarPass does not operate the cable-car and we have no idea how the cable-car staff managed the queue that it caused such a long delay for you. Again, the GibraltarPass offered you everything that it proposes to provide - but you chose to ignore the instructions provided and not board a tour for which we have already reserved places for you. Every coin has two sides...

Disappointed and had no way to use pass

Joanne_B, Apr 2025
The Bus drivers did not accept out city pass and they said they never knew anything about them. We both have mobility problems and our shuttle from the ship dropped us right in the town centre where the buses start their route. It was a waste of our money. We spoke to 3 drivers and they said they didn’t have any idea of the pass. We called the shuttle and returned to the ship losing the money we spent. We reported it to the Gilbratar tourist information in the cruise ship terminal and he said they should have known about it and he apologized and pass the information on to his boss. I. Would request a refund as this was their error not ours.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Hi Joanne, Apologies for your experience. It seems that the drivers you spoke to were not from the included bus routes 5&10 and hence the pass was not accepted there. There are full instructions on our website on where to find the bus stop for routes 5&10 when coming from the cruise terminal, and indeed many passengers from your cruise were able to make full use of their GibraltarPass. Anyway, we are happy for full refund to be issued to you by Viator.

Amazing day on Gibraltar

Linda_S, Mar 2025
A LOT of walking. If possible, stay overnight and spend one day up on the rock, and the other enjoying the city. It was really too much for one day. We ended up walking g a the way down the mountain and through a lot of the city to get back to the bottom of the cable car. That was a really neat, if tiring, experience. Remember, if you have this pass, vto ask for discounts on food and purchases. we forgot.

Good value with included perks

ALAN_I, Nov 2024
A little complicated to get started with need for more than one download but once started it was useful.

Gibraltar

nadine_l, Oct 2024
The cable car was awesome and of course the whole visit but for the 1st time disappointed with Viator as we wasted over an hour to find the address red sands street which is a building not where to exchange the tickets. It would have been clear to say at Cable car prepaid tickets. Once the woman at cashier helped us she had to call your office to confirm all went smoothly.

Unclear instructions

Pierre_B, Oct 2024
First time disappointed with Viator. Unclear instructions caused us to lose valuable time trying to find the point of exchange for our vouchers. Thanks to a very helpful lady at the exchange counter we were able to get our tickets. Hopefully this will not happen again.

No Tram

Kris_K, Oct 2024
Because the tram was not running the day we had tickets… We were unable to enjoy the highlights of the pass!

Pay attention to instructions! Need to download same day prior to attraction

Deborah_S, Aug 2024
Once we figured out how to get the email to download( after paying for cable car again) we had access to the attractions up on the rock. It was an amazing experience. Sweaty, happy memorable day!!

Best of Gibraltar

Trevor_C, Aug 2024
Easy to book on line with Viator. Get there early to avoid the queues. We did just that and got there 20 minutes before opening time and 2nd in line. By the time it opened the queue enormous. Enjoyed the cable car ride up to the top. Fantastic views over Gibraltar and across the sea. One up there there is a cafe and rest rooms. Its very steep so wear shoes you are comfortable walking in. Enjoyed all the sights, Skywalk, The Angel of St Michael's cave, not to be missed. Also the Ape Den and Windsor Suspension Bridge. The reserve itself is lovely. We walked down back into town. Took it slowly as it was a moderate not easy walk but we got to see lots more of the park.

A workout in Gibraltar

Anne_S, Oct 2023
We walked off our cruise ship to the bus stop (#5/10) which was included in the ticket. It took us to the cable car stop where we redeemed our tickets and got the wristbands. Easy peasy! Then up to the top. One BIG recommendation would be to walk to the War Tunnels first, as the pedestrian path is steep and would be more easily done in this direction; we came back this way and had a very long, hot walk uphill. St Michael's Cave is marvelous. The roadside signs are pretty poor, and lacking in proper updates as to the distance left to the attractions. Good walking shoes and lots of water required to do this on foot.

Downloaded tickets did not work.

Connie_D, May 2023
We got the confirmation email with link to download and save tickets to Apple Wallet. I did not bring the printout with me. Mistake to expect technology to work. At the window, they would not give me tickets. Said they do not work with Viator. Did not speak good English. Had to call supervisor a d hold up line for 10 minutes so we missed taking cable car with the rest of our party. It would have been easier to buy tickets there as they feed everyone into the same line. They really wanted to make me pay again. Be careful with this one.

Response from Host, May 2023

Dear Connie, Thanks for your feedback. However, the problem was that you DID NOT show them the actual Passes but instead just the email confirmation from Viator which is not the actual pass- hence it was not possible to scan it! The actual Passes were sent to your email on 23rd May. If you had them with you on your mobile there wouldn't have been any issue. Instead we actually had to issue you with new ones and were able to do so within few minutes from the moment our support team was contacted by the cable car ticket office, so you should actually be grateful of the quick service you received rather than complain about something which was not our fault.

Will do more research before ordering.

Lois_C, May 2023
We didn’t fully understand about the transportation options. Walking around was very difficult so we weren’t able to fully utilize the pass.

Response from Host, May 2023

Dear Lois, Sorry to hear about your experience. Our website actually provides suggested itineraries which give detail of the transport arrangements included in each itinerary.

Good pass if you have a whole day and evening to spend in Gibraltar

David_F, Apr 2023
We really enjoyed our day in Gibraltar, but we were on a cruise and would say that the Discount Pass is more suited to people who have the whole day and evening to utilise it. The buses included in the Pass didn't run from the port and hence we walked to the cable car. Even with the pass, we had to queue for 30 mins to get on the cable car, as the attendants gave priority to customers on an excursion from the cruise ship. Once at the top, we thoroughly enjoyed St Michaels Caves and were able to walk on the Sky Walk, but the tunnels were closed. We didn't have time to visit any other places included in the pass as the ship was sailing at 4.30pm.

Response from Host, Apr 2023

Dear David, thank you for your review. In fact you could have taken bus routes 5&10 from the stop near the cruise port gates to the cable-car as that is included in the Pass. Also when you have the Pass you don't need to wait at the queue for the cable-car tickets and just go to the pre-paid line, so should be quicker. Glad you enjoyed the attractions you visited and pity that your cruise was leaving early so you couldn't make more use of all the benefits of the GibraltarPass.

12 hour total only 4 hours in Morocco, not worth it

Carmella_M, Mar 2023
The total trip lasted 12 hours. However, we were only in Morocco for 4 hours. I was picked up a little after 7. We boarded the speed ferry around 9:15. We arrived in Morocco at 10:30. The tour bus was entirely too fast to get good pictures. The food was not high quality Moroccan food. It was like cafeteria food with hints of Moroccan flavor. We only had 15 mins at the bazaar. Then back to the ferry at 14:30. Spent a couple hours on speed ferry and going through checkpoints. Then back on bus and reached my drop off spot at 19:30.

Response from Host, Mar 2023

Good morning Carmella, Your Review is not of the GibraltarPass experience but of an excursion to Morocco probably done with another tour company. You did not take the GibraltarPass as we only tour Gibraltar. Please change your Review to the correct company you did the trip with. Kind regards The GibraltarPass Team www.GibraltarPass.com

Pass on the Gibraltar Pass

Davette_J, Dec 2022
We received poor instructions stating that it was necessary to go to the Cable Car to get tickets...which we did. Only to be told at the Cable Car that we had to go back to the location to get the Mini Rock Tour which we had signed up for. It took us over an hour and half to walk there and back. When we arrived at the location to take the rock tour, they took our printed paper tickets. On the trip, we only had 3 stops (not the 4 shown on the description) and when we were dropped off - we had no ability to go to any additional attractions as they had taken out tickets. We were left with no way to get to the other attractions as they had taken our printed tickets. The public transportation/buses are so slow and infrequent that we would have spent more time waiting for them. In short, we were extremely disappointed to have spent more than $110 for a simple 'van drive' at 3 stops for an 1 hour and 45 minute trip. To come that far, and not to have the full experience was truly a very, very poor excursion option.

Fantastic

Rabiu_M, Dec 2022
St Michael's cave was inspiring. It was nice to see yhe world war 2 mountain tunnels. Overall, a pleasant experience

Need better customer service and support.

Kyle_K, Sep 2022
Obtaining the overall pass was great. The primary issue was with the transportation that we thought were included. The bus and taxi drivers were unwilling to accept the Viator pass according to them the pass not valid for any transportation. The drivers were only available for tours. Our only option was to walk to our destination or pay the fare for a bus pass. Totally unacceptable by the operator’s. Beautiful scenery but sadly lacking in customer service. Clearly only wanted tours since the cruise ship was in.

Response from Host, Sep 2022

Dear Kyle, As specified on the Pass and on our website, the Pass is valid for routes 10 & 5 only, so not sure why you tried to use them at the taxis? Moreover, from your comment it looks like you tried to use the Viator booking confirmation that was sent to you rather than the actual GibraltarPasses that were emailed to you in advance, which are the actual tickets to be used. This may have caused the confusion with the bus driver as they are instructed only to accept the GibraltarPass tickets with the QR code and logo. A Rock Tour is included in the GibraltarPass, but as stated on our website, you have to reserve your place at least 1 day in advance. Otherwise, you could have taken the buses from near the Cruise Port gate to the Cable Car as recommended in the Itineraries on the GibraltarPass website, rather than having to walk. Glad to hear you enjoyed the scenery and the Pass was easy to obtain, but sorry to hear the experience with the transport operators was not as expected.
