Luisa, our tour guide, introduced us to places we would not have been able to find on our own. The narrower street in Europe or Vico in Genovese, a beautiful elevated park, built on top of a catacomb, with a gorgeous view of the city and the mountains. A very beautiful and peaceful place! And lots more!!
She obviously loves her city and her enthusiasm was contagious.
She told us about a very pleasant and out of the was Restaurant where we enjoyed an authentic Genovese lunch and the most delicious apple crumble we have ever tasted! Yum!
Thank you Luisa for a truly unforgettable experience.

Good tour with Davide, our guide who was very friendly, he adapted the tour to our wishes and gave us a nice overview of the city. He also gave us good advice and adresses for our stay.

Davide was an excellent local guide. He met us at our hotel and walked us through the old town, and down by the water before showing us a few of his favourite spots.
He provided a thoughtful history of the city and region as we walked and it was great to get to see Genoa through the eyes of a local. Highly recommend Davide as a guide!

We really enjoyed our tour of Genova with Davide. He had an extensive knowledge of the history of Genova and tailored the tour to our interests. To top it off he recommended an excellent restaurant for lunch.

Davide gave us both a excellent overview of the physical and historical essence of the city, as well as visits to several of the specific highlight locations. He also recommended an exceptional restaurant Le Rune and even called to make a reservation for us.

It was wonderful to walk around in Genoa with Davide, who was amiable, friendly, and very knowledgeable. We learned so much about general was history, people, and architecture. He was in tune, with with what interested us, and was an excellent conversationalist. It was the best part of our time in Genoa.

Our tour guide Pier was a bit eccentric. He was a substitute guide. The first guide cancelled. He was very robotic and slow. Lots of awkward pauses. He was good at turning what seemed to be his usual 2 hour tour into our three hour tour. He also could not go by a cafe without stopping in for an espresso. We had one with him but then there were three others he did on his own - very strange for a tour guide with clients in tow. Lots of wasted time and we ended up only hitting the first 3 of our Request List:
1 - See the Port
2 - Walk the old part of Genoa and see historic places
3 - Wander alleyways that show the changing Genoa
4 - See the seaside neighborhood of Boccadasse
5 - Do some shopping
6 - Visit the candy shop from the 1700's,
7 - Finish w/ lunch restaurant w/ a table overlooking the beach

Mike was a wonderful guide! He took us on a customized 2 hour tour of Genoa. The pace and areas he took us to where just perfect. He even helped us get on the train to Portofino at the end of our tour. Would not hesitate to use them again!

This was our first trip to Genoa. We met Valeria at a cafe since it was a very rainy day. She was delightful to work with, knew Genoa very well, and was wonderful at adapting the walking tour to the weather at the moment. When it was not raining, we saw the major piazzas, palazzos, churches and monuments of Genoa from the outside. When it rained, she walked us under the porticos along the main shopping streets and into the food markets. All the while sharing the history, culture and personality of the city. She also showed us the best pastry shops, gelato and other epicurean delights in the old town as we walked.
Old Town Genoa is unique in that so many of the alleys are so narrow and very dark on raining days. Easy to get lost, even with GPS. Valeria gave us a good understanding of how the area was laid out and how to find things.
When the tour ended, she followed up with suggestions for restaurants (which we tried) , other things to see(which we did) and even some research she did on questions we asked that she didn't have an immediate answer. Amazing experience from a friendly and knowledgeable local guide!

Our guide was local genoan valerie gave us a real taste of the city and was very engaging focusing on our own interests of food and history of the town.
She even recommended some specialist restaurants which we duly enjoyed!!
Overall Genoa is a much underrated northern italian town with its own local character.
