This is an excellent way to start your visit of Genoa. The tour guide was very friendly and professional. They reached before our trip to understand our interests and helped with recommendations for dining before we arrived in the city. Our tour was for 3 hours and was very well paced by our guide Matteo. He did a great job and the tour helped us in how we toured around the city during our remaining time in Genoa. Highly recommended!!

Our guide Fulvio was great. He walked us up and down the hills of Genoa at a great pace and explained the rich history and culture of the city. He was great with questions and explained what to watch for in the city’s many special churches and basilicas. We got to enjoy a wonderful walk steeped in history with a great guide who loves the city. He gave us three recommendations for lunch away from the tourists and crowds. We picked his first recommendation (Rosmarino) and it did not disappoint. The lunch and wine there may have been our favorite on our vacation.

Francesca our guide for the duration was great ! She was warm and personable and showed a real pride of Genoa and gave us a good overview of the city ! She took us to a local Trattoria and then to the top of the hill to see the layout of the city !

I am not sure if you were informed of the incident that occurred on our private walking tour yesterday?
Our guide took us up an elevator in Genoa and we were supposed to have paid for ticket but nobody informed us, note guide was with us. When we got to the top we were stopped by administrative police and had an extremely bad experience with the police (very rude and hostile towards us, refused to even attempt to explain anything to us), was extremely embarrassing and humiliating situation for us to be treated like criminals in a public forum, with many people walking past us to the lifts. Note we are both senior professional people and have never experienced this before in 25 years of traveling. Because of not having tickets, that we should have bought downstairs for €1,50, to each pay a fine of €42 (total €84) to get the police to stop harassing us so we could get out of this situation. We have the reciepts as proof of this. We are upset that we had to pay this as this is was not our fault and police were extremely hostile towards us, we will be lodging a complaint against them (have got their badge details). We would like to know what you as operator going to do to assist/refund us for this as not our fault as we at no time were told to buy tickets, all information at ticket purchases is in Italian, which we don’t speak. We also believe you as an operator should lodge a complaint because this is not the way innocent tourists should be treated. We have already advised two family members who are suppose to visit Genoa next month to rather go to another city because Genoa seems to be a police state.
Please advise how you propose to resolve this situation?

Note guide Amal était super. Elle connaît très bien Gênes et nous a fait profiter de ses recoins. Nous serions passé devant sans même se rendre compte de ce qu'on ratait. La partie historique était super et ses connaissances appréciables.

Arrivée avec du retard sans prévenir, la guide parlait très doucement et en marchant si bien que seule une personne sur deux (nous étions un couple) pouvait bénéficier des informations. Nous n’avons pas appris grand chose car la guide était très axée sur les palais en parlant quasiment jamais de l’histoire marchande de Gênes. On a quasiment couru pendant 2h. Nous sommes dynamiques mais nous n’avions qu’une envie c’est que la visite soit finie. Franchement nous regrettons de ne pas avoir pris une excursion moins chère avec écouteurs par exemple où nous n’aurions pas couru et où nous aurions appris sans doute plus de choses.
