Board one of the open-top double-decker buses to begin your tour of Genoa at any of the 15 stops along either route. Enjoy wonderful views from the top of the bus of city landmarks like the iconic lighthouse and the huge port, and listen to commentary about Genoa’s history and monuments as you go.
Get off the bus at any point to explore one of the attractions that’s nearby. From the Piazza Caricamento stop, for instance, head for the waterfront to visit the fantastic aquarium or ride the panoramic lift known as ‘Bigo’ for 360-degree views of the city from a dizzying height. On a clear day, you might even see Corsica on the horizon.
Wander the alleys of the UNESCO-listed historic center, including Via Garibaldi’s former palaces, and pay a visit to one of Europe’s oldest confectioneries for a sweet treat. You’re free to discover Genoa at your leisure, knowing you’ve got a ride to the next stop whenever you want it.

The hop on hop off buses have two routes you can take. We took both and didn't really se anything worth while on either route. The buses are old and on several of them, the headphone jacks did not work. We've been on a lot of hop on hop off buses in different places and these are the worst ones we've ever been on.

Alberto was the best host, historian, chef, and teacher. There were a total of 6 of us including a great family from Munich that we met. Alberto made the experience fun for everyone and his humor was very enjoyable. The process was very well laid out and everyone was participating. The location was amazing as it was on the rooftop (5 stories up) in a very traditional/historical building. It was Easter Day, so we got a special sweet dessert the Italians make for Easter Sunday. We are still talking about how the whole experience was fun and making some new friends along the way made it that much better. We highly recommend this experience if you’re even thinking about it. Bravo to Alberto and his helper for treating us like family.

We recommend doing a small group or private tour versus the hop on hop off bus. We have done hop on hop off buses and all the major cities and they have been fine but this one was the exception. No one on the bus really spoke any type of English.
In addition, the app did not work, it crashes on you each time you use it when you go to adjust the screen or zoom in on a particular area.
They are only running one bus on each of the lines and there is a 3260 minute wait for another bus pick up which is too long.

We got off a cruise ship and the bus company had not put on enough buses and there were large crowds waiting to get on. Once we finally got on the bus itself was great.

Great way to are the city. They could so a better Jon with the audio tour. Better technology and maintenance on devices. Once we found seats where audio was stable, tour became more information .

+ This was our first foray into European cruise ports, and it was a consistent way in which we got to know many more cities along our trip.
- The pickup location was unclear when booked online.

Do not take the hop on hop off! This was by far the worst experience! At first I wasn’t going to comment but after talking with several crews ship members everyone had the same experience. We waited 1 hour to an 1 1/2 to board a bus then didn’t jet off for fear of not getting back on in a reasonable amount of time. Then the employees were Extremely rude!! One bus attendant intentionally closed the door in my face I was asking questions.

Each tour had over 50% overlap and wasn't unique. Same roads, sights, and commentary. One tour bus had yellowed, faded, and severely scratched plexiglass over the top deck. Couldn't see anything through them. A few audio jack plugs didn't work. Earbuds provided are short and wouldn't reach if sitting on the aisle. Worst hop on/off bus tour we've taken and we've been on over a dozen. Waste of money.

Overcrowded mess at the port. We were there at the appointed time and it was crowded. They moved our group to another location where we boarded a bus where the we were handed ear phone.s. The system didn’t work. The upper deck plastic cover was scratched that you couldn’t see out of it. But we were lucky. The lines waiting to get a bus the two
Spots near the port were 100 to 150 people long. We left the bus and the entrance/exit
They were still selling tickets. Sadly those people were in for at least an hour wait. Total mess.

I did the hop on/off in Milan, it was great, this was not. This was repetitive, boring and the people running it I found rude. Frail people would get on and they would speed off before they had any chance to sit down, horrible. Many commentary outlets were broken. They have cameras to see if people want to get off which they ignore. You aren't supposed to stand while its driving obviously but if you wait until the stop to get up they just leave without stopping. The owner should read this and make changes.
I suggest visitors walk around Genoa, the small side streets where the bus doesn't and can't go, much more interesting. Lovely polite local people rather than this rude operation!

The first staff member we came in contact with was extremely rude they way he spoke to people. The narrator talked about stuff that we couldn’t even see. At one point we had to sit downstairs and you couldn’t hear a word with the rattle the bus making. We then witnessed a horrible scene at first stop where staff were pushing and shouting at customers as the buses were too full. There appears to be no professional service here I definitely wouldn’t waste my money get a map and walk around you will see much more.

Worth the money and has two options coastal or historic route that intertwines at places so you can see all of both routes . We got on at the cruise terminal however was given no guidance to where to find either of the start points this was very frustrating in 33 degree heat . After some walking we found one if the bus stops clearly marked however not all stops have a dedicated sightseeing stand and can be merged in to other boards .

We had difficulty finding where to be picked up from the port. It was nice to see so many places with the narration. The onboard personnel were nice and helpful. The region was experiencing a heat wave so we only hopped off once.

Easy access to both bus routes from the port. Recommend staying on the bus for most of the route to get a feel for the city and see where you want to get off and explore.

We booked hop-on-hop off for three of the city's we visited. One city id didn't work out. We never got on. It was always full. The next city it worked well and we were happy. The third city was OK .Some busses ran early and spacing was uneven. Once on the bus they were good.

It took us an hour in line in the sun to board the 1st bus. The buses were overcrowded, few and far between, and not made for anyone over 5' 5" tall. I'm 6' 4" and my wife is 5' 7" and her knees were jammed into the seat in front of us. Mine were in the aisle until someone needed through.
Very uncomfortable. The earbuds they provided wouldn't stay in our ears and we didn't bring duct tape so fought with them the whole time. Worst bus ride ever!

Very Cute train ride around the city with narrative. There is not much special things to see but the ride is nice, especially along the water front. Good longb45min ride for such a good price. You can buy the ticket when you get to toulon. You don't have to buy water shuttle $35. from your cruise. You can walk to the blue ferry, about 15min walk and the ferry ridebis only 3euro

I have traveled hop on hop off in other cities, and this was the most confusing experience with unhelpful staff. We were told everyone needed to exit at a stop, to await the next bus in 5 minutes. It was hot & we were in the direct sun in a dirty area. The next bus was full. The next bus transported us one stop and ended. It seemed that there were two tours - coast & historical, but they were the same tour. Staff were uninterested in helping us understand. Terrible experience

Great way to see the city and being divided into historic and coastal was ideal for being able to do a circuit, get some food then do the other. Minimal price difference between 24 & 48 hours made it worth while having extra time to go back and explore what seen from the bus.
