Where do I start? Renato is a natural. Probably the best tour guide you will ever come across. Professional, courteous, jovial, knowledgeable and patient. He is Madeira bottled. From kestrels and starlings to local fauna and farming, he knows EVERYTHING! His jokes interspersed with local knowledge made the day immensely more rewarding. One of the best tour I have ever been on and recommended without hesitation

We expected it to be cold in the mountains it wasn't. Lot of great photo opportunities. Never felt we were pushed for time. Renato was an excellent guide, certainly knew everything about Maderia, very very informative. The mini bus was new and very clean, but a bit cramped if you had long legs.

We were picked up at the arranged time. Unfortunately the sound system wasn’t working properly so it was virtually impossible to hear the commentary. We were recommended a lovely restaurant for lunch was great value. The guide and driver were very nice. We saw all the advertised places and had enough time to explore them.

Most memorable: When it was over. The guide didn't engage with guests, didn't introduce himself or encourage interaction. It was a lot of driving and mostly short stops. The seats were uncomfortable and air conditioning didn't work well. It was so unpleasant that we cancelled our tour for the next day fearing it would be more of the same. The driver was skilled at handling the roads but we had the feeling he didn't like his job.

Beautiful scenery and great to swim in seawaters! Lovely guide Rodriguez but his facts differed to another guide especially in regards to Madeira wine! Kept us chuckling !
Tip after swimming: go to cafe near the drop off much better value than those at the top of the hill and free loos!!

A good tour of Madeira's West. Sadly not via Encumeada despite the description on the website, but the tour guide was friendly, enthusiastic and cheerful. Fantastic fellow passengers made this tour a joy to partake in - and of course the destinations. Porto Moniz with its waves and rock pools is a stunning highlight on Madeira and one of my favourite places on this planet. Sao Vicente is beautiful, Ribeira Brava a great coffee stop, and the waterfalls are always delightful to behold. A brief stroll by a banana plantation was an unexpected addition to the tour (perhaps because we did not go up to Encumeada?), but it didn't add much to the experience to be honest. Not sure why the tour deviated from the description - maybe roadworks? The high road looking down on Encumeada is definitely an exciting experience, with fantastic views when the weather plays along. Poncha in Camara do Lobos was a suitably sweet way to end the tour. Value for money was absolutely incredible, as always with minibus tours in Madeira - you pay more for stressful, impersonal crowded coach tours in most places than you do for a relaxed, jovial small group minibus tour in Madeira.
All in all, a good day!

Great to have a two hour lunch break at the seaside pools as allowed time to lunch at restaurant and swim / enjoy the pools. Driver was very punctual but could be a little abrupt at times in his interpersonal manner. Covered a lot of places though more information and history about each place would have been good.

My daughter and I really enjoyed this small group tour and our driver Charlotte was brilliant. Felt very safe with her driving and her commentary was very informative. The highlight was spending time in Porto Moniz and swimming in the volcanic seawater pools and then ending with the Skywalk at Cabo Girau.

This was a well planned tour that showed many beautiful areas. We had some complications due to miscommunication with our required completion time and the company worked with us to solve issues and enjoy as much of the tour as we could. I would recommend this company as an exceptional representative of their home with both the experience and their professionalism.

Wonderful tour around the west side of Madeira. Perfect amount of time on each stop, you could really enjoy all the places. On the way to each stop the tour-guide/car driver provided with very interesting information in Portuguese and perfect English about all the places where were headed to, as well as things we passed on the way. He also offered to help couples take selfies. The different places were really beautiful and each had its charm. But Cabo Cirao and swimming in Porto Moniz was definitely the best ones!

I really would NOT recommend this tour to anyone. The guide kept repeating himself and going on forever about plants and about unkept plots of land. Absolutely no fun facts about Madeira, just repetitively pointing where the crops were. His commentary also gave the idea that everything in Madeira apart from Funchal was essentially a wasteland. So gloomy and boring!
The views were nice and the north west is definitely the most beautiful part of the island but the experience was tarnished by the frankly bad guide who although nice, did make the experience feel endless (in a bad way).
If you choose to do this tour anyway, just for the Porto Moniz natural pools, make sure to pack your lunch because all the restaurants and cafes are extremely crowded and expensive, leaving you with no time to experience the pools (like maybe 30 minutes).
The pools are 3 euro and you have to wait in line for like 15 minutes.
The bus we took was full and one of those really old ones, which is fine but got extremely hot and is VERY slow.
I would personally pay more to have a 4x4 tour or a private one and avoid this one unless you’re very passionate about plants and crops.

Great tour, we saw a lot of sights and some things we hadn't seen before.
As it was out of season, the main pools were closed in Porto Moniz but the old natural pools were open. Great views of the valleys and small villages.

Great tour! Our guide was Renato. He gave us lots of interesting info on the island and its history, explained the different plants and flowers on our way and was overall very fun. All the spots on the tour were beautiful and we fully recommend it. 😃

Our guide was very informative, telling a lot of details along the way. The driving from Ribeira Brava to Porto Moniz on the small mountain roads was an experience itself, the views were breathtaking and we also did some stops to take photos. At Porto Moniz there was enough time to enjoy the amazing pools with no rush. We did not visit the natural pools of Seixal that were in the tour plan, that was a disappointment. All in all I would say this tour is value for money, if you want to visit the natural Pools in Porto Moniz and also see how does the northern coast look like.

Really well paced tour and our host/driver, Renato, struck a great balance of information and easy humour. We chose this trip because the itinerary promised a longer stopover at Porto Moniz and we really wanted a decent amount of time to swim and enjoy the lava pools there. In the event, we had nearly two and a half hours there which was just perfect. All in all, I would thoroughly recommend this tour.

The west tour was nice. It was really cloudy so we drove by a lot of cool views without stopping :( it was nice overall but really tourist focussed. We missed the local warmness we got from other tours.

We really enjoyed most of the tour and exploring the beautiful island of Madeira. We saw some amazing views and places.
Our tour guide and driver Denis was nice but a lot of the information he gave was about the plants and after few hours it got really boring. We would have appreciated more details about the natural pools (where to go, what we need, cost), economy, culture,etc rather than only plants and trees.
Also, there were a lot of small stops for photos which was nice but there were few that were not needed. The last stop of the tour in S. Vicente was not necessary -nothing to see there.
We were told that we will be in Funchal at 5.30 but we didn't get back to our hotel until 6.30pm which was inconvenient as we had plans and we were late.
