Route was good. Commentary was sparse and was often "# of stop only"...if at all. When we did have have some description it was often out of sync with what we could actually see....tending to be a couple of minutes before we got to that view.....if at all.

Funchal is beautiful and the sights provided on the bus route are wonderful. There is not much commentary though. I wish there had been more verbal descriptions of the sights.

Didn't stop at some stops shown on the map. Commentary wa inaudible on Red route buses we went on. Blue route bus commentary was slightly better but male voice was inaudible.

My husband and i usually use this transport to hear about the city we are in and fab to be able to get on and off fantastic stops. Only thing i would say is if doing the blue route in Funchal Maderia and go to Monte Topical gardens ask when the bus arrives again as potentially you will have a long wait. But scenery on red and blue routes are fantastic! Steep winding roads, skilled drivers! Fab!

Excellent way to see the city, my only complaint would be the lack of information at the cruise terminal as to where to meet the Red Bus agent or the shuttle from the port to stop number 1 on the route.

The red route offered much more interest. The bus frequency was 20 mins and the journey had multiple stops
The blue route was pretty dull, and althoughh the scenery provided photo ops, the few stops /bus operator didn’t allow it. Time between buses was 1hr 30mins - wouldn’t recommend this route
The earphones in the blue route also didn’t work well

This tour is only way to go from/to Monte to center of Funchal. Does not provide enough information- just few sentences in 10 minutes . Interval of service is 90 min. To reach any attractions you need to take city bus, cable car. We were able to use it only ones. Wasting time and money. Use taxi- faster and cheaper.

Funchal tour was great from ship we were able to see the bus stop, which was 20 min walk courteous staff at stop, completed tour of all stops then it started to rain, otherwise a great day.

We were two days in Funchal. On the first day I took the HO/HO bus tour. It was a great tour and takes you around to
the important sightseeing buildings, etc. And, gives you a good idea to plan your second day here. Definitely, your monies

Had to wait too long for next bus. Audio didn't work had to changes buses, wasn't clear and wasn't very informative. Staff young and absorbed in each other rather than customers. Route not terribly interesting either.

Very useful way of seeing the Island around Funchal- the red bus makes stops at a very pretty fishing port and a lovely viewpoint above the city - only downside is they were not so regular towards the end of the day

Really bad, best is to book in the place. I have done this tours several times in different cities, never a problem. The girl said that our tickets cover only the red line and I have to paid for the blue line! I insist that it wasn't right.

Well priced and a great route around Funchal. Make sure you get off at red stop 11 and see the view!
Also, the employee at stop 16 where we got on Diego was an amazing ambassador for the company. Went totally out of his way to show us the best places, how things worked and just a fantastic guy !

The tour on the was very good. The could do with updating their commentary to say exactly what are the main attractions before each stop! Unfortunately we had heavy rain and the roof was leaking in most places but very luckily not where we were sitting!

The tour was okay.... it rained the whole time we were on the tour. Not Viator's fault that the weather was so bad. What we did see was wonderful and would love to see it in the sunshine. I was amazed at the way the homes are built into the side of the cliffs. And the narrow streets made for an interesting tour.

This Hop-On Hop-Off bus even took us to another small city. You really get a great overview of the port and area. We again hopped off to see a flower market and fruits and vegetables. The vendors gave us samples but were upset when we did not buy their additional products. We walked the street and had lunch at a park where booths were set up displaying local wares.
