What To Expect

Choose to work with either a professional sculptor or a classically-trained painter as your tutor for this small-group art class in Florence. Both morning and afternoon classes are available to fit your schedule.

Meet your artist in his or her inspiring, light-filled private studio for a hands-on lesson in creating your own work of art in oil or clay. Classes include no more than 8 people for plenty of personalized attention.

Get inspired by the art-filled city of Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance and home to some of the most famous artists in the world – Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli, and Donatello among them.

Learn some of the secrets of both ancient and modern techniques from your instructor. Discover your inner artist: work with clay to sculpt the figure of your choice; or paint a still-life or your own copy of a famous painting. All materials and supplies are provided.

Don’t miss this amazing opportunity! My aunt and I attended Laura’s oil painting class and it contained far more practical information, demonstration, and practice that we could have hoped for. Being in the studio was inspiring! Leo scurried around here and there which was adorable! Do not hesitate to book this class.

Hands On Art Fun

My teenage daughter wanted to take an art class while we were in Florence. This studio offers both painting from a picture or clay sculpting from a cast model as short half day classes which met our schedule perfectly. They spoke English and it was an inviting studio. You are left mostly on your own with a few instructions and some advice from the teacher throughout the class. My daughter liked that because she has done a lot of art and wanted independent work. We took our time and enjoyed the class.

A memorable and fun experience with charming instructors in an ideal setting! The artist studio is impressive, and we truly appreciated the focus on color theory. As educators ourselves, we’d suggest "flipping the classroom"—providing a video in advance so participants can learn the theory ahead of time, allowing for more hands-on painting during the session. Laura is a wealth of knowledge and could record a brief intro video to help artists dive straight into mixing colors upon arrival. We also wish we could have left with a completed piece and think a beginner’s studio shopping list would be a great takeaway for those eager to continue at home. That said, the instructors clearly know their craft, and we’d absolutely return. Highly recommended!

The instructors, Frank and Laura, were warm and engaging. Frank was the sculpting instructor. He's incredibly kind, flexible, and patient. I learned a lot during the class and am inspired to do more. Highly recommend it!

We did the painting intro session which teaches you how to combine colours and see the difference between various shades on the painting. It also teaches some basic techniques when working with oils. It was informative and also a lot of fun and I highly recommend it.

Gorgerous little studio in the heart of Florence, I had an amazing day of sculpting where I learned so much! The artists are incredible and I had one on one instruction and advice for the day, I would love to go back and study there for longer! A wonderful way to spend a day in Florence. if you have an extra day in Firenze after the tours of the must see’s, do this class. It is great fun and Laura and Frank are really helpful and kind.You will be surprised by the result and as a beginner I was pretty pleased with my torso sculpture.Thoroughly enjoyed my morning. Had a great time painting with Laura! I do have quite a bit of painting experience, but I've never worked with oils. I think she broke down color mixing and the process easy enough for a beginner, but it was still challenging for . I was thrilled with my final painting! Definitely recommend this class if you enjoy painting!
