Itinerary

Meet your local guide and small group of up to 15 people in central Florence. Set out to explore the city on foot, starting with a visit to the magnificent Church of Santa Croce, where Michelangelo, Rossini, and Machiavelli are buried.

Continue to Piazza dei Peruzzi to see the Bargello Palace, a striking medieval building often overlooked by visitors to Florence. Next, pass through the lively Porcellino market and stop to pose for photos on the Ponte Vecchio, as your guide fills you in on the history of the renowned 14th-century bridge.

The next stop is Piazza della Signoria, the political heart of Florence, where highlights include the grand Palazzo Vecchio, and the legendary Uffizi Gallery (entrance not included), home to masterpieces by Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael.

Finally, arrive at the spectacular centerpiece of Florence – Piazza Duomo, where you can marvel at the stunning Florence Cathedral and admire other architectural wonders, including Brunelleschi’s Dome, Giotto’s bell tower, and the Baptistery.

After a morning taking in the city highlights, your tour ends by the Church of San Lorenzo, where you can continue exploring the nearby markets or stop for lunch (own expense) at one of the many restaurants.

Our guide Aurora was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and encouraged questions with a friendly attitude

Great tour and guide

Rick_M, Oct 2022
Giuilo was our tour guide. Because this was later in October, we were the only two people on this tour. Giulio adjusted the pace of the tour slightly to fit our pace and tendency to wander off course taking photos. He took his time showing us around the major attractions in Florence, making sure we watched our step with curbs and traffic while explaining the history of Florence. He patiently answered all of our questions and made suggestions for what to see in our extra days in Florence. This was an excellent tour to begin our vacation in Florence. Would highly recommend this tour.

Excellent!

This is a must do for the first time traveler to Florence. Our guide went over historical facts about the Medici Family, Dante, Machiavelli and the statue of David. It goes beyond the great shopping and dining.

MaryAnn_G, Apr 2022
Glenda did an amazing job. Her knowledge of the history of Florence is fantastic. Since no one else signed up for the tour at the time, I had a private tour with her. She pointed out sites that I would have never noticed on my own. I would highly recommend Glenda and this tour. She also gave recommendations on shopping for leather and gold. She also pointed out her favorite coffee bar, Gilli. Grazie Mille, Glenda!

Highly recommend

Think our fab guide was called Giulio - he changed the walk depending on how far/fast we wanted and his knowledge and passion for history was contagious. Made for the best possible first day and would recommend as he has so much to help you get maximum benefit out of your stay depending on your preferences. Thank you!

A very informative tour. Our group was only 4 which I think made it easier. The guide was lovely, I don't know how she remembers it all.

Rainy night fun

Scott_H, Mar 2020
This tour better then we could have imagined! The weather was horrible but our tour guide Glenda still gave us the best tour we could ask for. She was very knowledgeable and answered many of our questions!!

A perfect introduction to beautiful Florence...

Mary_P, Feb 2020
This tour was exactly what we were looking for. A perfect opportunity to get our bearings in Florence and to get a sense of what we might like to revisit in subsequent days. Our guide, Daniel, was great -- with lots of wonderful suggestions of what a person might want to do and see in Florence. We took several of his suggestions in the days that followed and -- in so doing -- found our way to some really special Florence experiences.

Good tour

Tanya_B, Dec 2019
Had a nice tour with our guide. Very detailed and gave a thorough explanation of everything we were looking at. Saw pretty much all the highlights. She kept checking in with us to ensure we were good. Solid tour!

Tour for two!

Jean W, Oct 2019
Our guide Daniel met us at the station and tailored our walk to our specific wants. Two hours probably wasn’t long enough but we were ready for a rest and enjoyed our lunch at a restaurant recommended by Daniel. An excellent and interesting tour.

Great Way to See the City Before venturing out

Nomad09928443777, Oct 2019
This was amazing- exactly what we wanted. We did this tour shortly after we arrived in Florence. This gave us the opportunity to see how truly Florence is a walking city and what to expect and to make sure we didn't miss. We loved our tour guide, Alicea, she was very knowledge and fun! Thank you!

Walking tour of Florence

khf1963, Oct 2019
We had a wonderful time in Florence, although very hot, we had a guide to ourselves who shared many stories about the architecture and history of Florence on a morning walking tour. The shops, food and scenery were amazing - only wish we had more time to explore - we had to be back on a bus to the cruise port by 3:30 which does cut the day short - we'll have to return to see more.

Undoubtedly recommended

Fadi S, Aug 2019

GERALDINE C, Jul 2019
Guide was very good. All main sites covered at a good pace. Lots of interesting bits, you would not get in the guide book Small group so no issue hearing the guide or asking questions.

Martina was incredible. There wasn't a single question the group threw at her that she didn't respond in a detailed manner. We loved her. Would highly recommend.

Vickie_S, Sep 2017
Our tour guide was Mario. We had only 4 in our tour group so it was very nice. Mario was animated and energetic and a native of Florence. He enlightened us on various architectural aspects of the city. We even danced to street musicians that actually played at his wedding! This was a good tour!
