- Most travelers can participate
- It is recommended to book transport to the departure point in advance. Please also allow extra time to get to the departure point for check-in. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the tour departure to allow time to check-in for the tour. Unfortunately, we are unable to hold the bus or refund for any late arrivals.
- Return times are approximate and subject to road conditions and weather. Please ensure you allocate sufficient time for any onward travel plans, allowing at least 3 hours after the scheduled return time for connections or activities.
- This tour may run in conjunction with our sister company, Highland Explorer Tours.
- Collapsible wheelchairs with removable wheels can be accommodated providing the passenger is accompanied by someone who can assist them to board and disembark.
- Minimum age to travel is 5 years old, while anyone aged 5-17 must be accompanied by an adult.
- There are days when a castle may be closed for filming or other reasons. There will be replacement locations included instead.
- Please note that itinerary order may change.
- Travel insurance is recommended.
- If you are using an audio guide, please bring your headset.
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 16 travelers

Ryan was absolutely outstanding. He was incredibly knowledgeable—not just about Outlander, but also about many other important places around Edinburgh. He was funny, engaging, and did a fantastic job keeping everyone’s attention while also making sure the group stayed on schedule.
The tour itself was phenomenal. We got to visit all the stops we were hoping to see, and everything was very well organized. Overall, it was an absolutely fantastic experience.

An excellent experience! Perfect for the solo traveler. Saw all of the Outlander sites listed and our amazing guide Rich commentator the history of the area -such a knowledgeable, fun and friendly guide. I also stopped in the office for a min and the office staff was amazingly helpful and friendly too. Vehicle was exceptional, comfortable. The whole thing was effortless for me, I just showed up, had a wonderful time and made new friends!

This was a perfect day tour! My friend I went with is an Outlander fan, but I have only seen a few episodes. Even if you know nothing about Outlander, it is an extremely interesting and well planned day! I picked it because it had the most stops when comparing Outlander day trips from Edinburgh, and I thought the time at each stop was perfect (not too long, not too short). We had Dusty as our driver and guide and he was amazing (at both)!! He did the perfect amount of narration while driving and knew so much Scottish history it was very impressive. He also knew a lot about Outlander and other facts related to the stops and the towns/spots we drove by. He was fantastic!

The tour guide Ryan P was fantastic! He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable of the history of Scotland and knew so many unique facts about the filming of Outlander. There was soooo much information covered and it was an all day trip. There can was comfortable and Ryan continually gave tips and advice on how to use the time wisely. 10/10 was an amazing experience!!!

If you’re not a fan of outlander, this tour is definitely worth it for Blackness castle alone!! Our tour guide was amazing, Graeme gave us a variety of Outlander tid bits, as well as sharing some history and tales as we travelled from stop to stop. Such an amazing experience!!

Charlie was an EPIC guide. So funny, knowledgeable, and lovely! We loved seeing all the filming locations, especially the spots we wouldn’t have seen otherwise (eg Falkland, Culross)

Dusty did an incredible job getting us from place to place and using his behind the wheel time to share the fascinating stories of Scotland’s history. It was pretty amazing to see the sites from Outlander with my own eyes (why did I imagine all the castles to be so much bigger?) :-) The tour was well worth the money spent, and we appreciated Dusty’s wit and wisdom along the way.

Conflicting info online. Will never use ye again. Booked a tour no problem. Got the app it stated no under 18s. Tried to contract support. No refund even when nowhere on the site does it state no under 18s. Went to the tour office got on the tour had a great time. Your website is WRONG. Incompetent unhelpful staff too

The Outlander tour has a good mix of historical and whimsically entertaining information about Scotland’s history and the filming of Outlander. Our guides Teagan and Laurie (sp?) were informative, fun and kept us on time, ensuring we had adequate time at all stops. Blackness castle is a neat location but not sure we needed the full time there(it was also very rainy and windy more so than the other stops). Falkland and Culross were delightful and I could have spent more time walking around these delightful little villages. Lallybroch is a gem and we spent just enough time for a walk around and photos.

The tour was great. We only saw the outside of Lallybroch because the building is condemned but the other sites we could go inside. Be aware that Viator does not give good direction on where to take the bus. If you are in Edinburgh, 26 Elder IS the bus station gate j or K formal departure for tour bus (rabies and Highland tours) and if you are in Inverness, the tour buses do not leave from the bus station but behind it in an alley.
I would recommend booking with Rabbie’s tours, the driver/guide are very entertaining and are smaller groups/smaller buses.
