Itinerary
Make your own way to the central meeting location in the morning. Traveling aboard an air-conditioned coach, head west into the Scottish countryside to discover the dramatic scenery that served as the backdrop to the "Outlander" TV series.
Stop to visit Midhope Castle, the filming location for Lallybroch, Jamie Fraser's home. Next, head to Doune Castle, which doubles up as Castle Leoch on-screen. Then, continue to the county of Fife to see the village of Culross, better known as "Cranesmuir," the village where Claire was accused of witchcraft.
After lunch (own expense), spend time exploring Falkland, where the show’s Inverness scenes were shot, before continuing to other key Outlander sites, including Blackness Castle, or Fort William.
After an Outlander-inspired day, return to Edinburgh, where your tour ends back on the Royal Mile.

We had an amazing time with Charlie. She talked a lot about our tour and gave us great info. The locations were amazing. Which we could have had more time but understand it would be very long then!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolute MUST for Outlander Fans!
This Outlander Tour was everything a fan could ask for and more! From beginning to end, it was an absolutely fantastic experience.
Our tour guide, Ryan, was excellent. He was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much interesting history, behind-the-scenes information, and fun facts throughout the day. One of my favorite touches was that when he wasn’t sharing stories with us, he played music from Outlander while we drove between locations. It made the whole experience feel even more special and completely immersed us in the world of Outlander.
If you’re a die-hard Outlander fan, this is the tour for you! Seeing the actual filming locations in person was incredible, and I highly recommend purchasing the option that allows you to go inside the castles. It is absolutely worth it and adds so much to the experience.
This was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Scotland. We loved every minute of it and would highly recommend this tour — and Ryan — to any Outlander fan! 🏴
We had an amazing time. Charlie was the best guide. We could have spent so much time at all locations. Obviously not possible but…..will go back!
Very good insight and knowledge with loads of upbeat personality. Made the trip very enjoyable. Would highly recommend Charlie as your tour guide.
If you want a great Tour Guide and see the Best of the Best Outlander Movie Sets this tour is a must!!
I had been looking forward to this tour for 9 months and was extremely disappointed. It was advertised as 9+ hours long and ended up being around 8 hours. I felt like I had to rush through the castles. Blackness castle which was supposed to be 55 minutes ended up only 30 minutes. I was literally running up and down the castle stairs so that I could see it all, not relaxing at all. Midhope castle was only 30 minutes....we did not have nearly enough time for all the audio recordings. Though our driver was friendly and talked much about history, this was after all, an "Outlander" tour and we expected more Outlander information. Our driver dumped us at the sites with no real instructions on where to go for the filming locations, not an Outlander fan I'm sure. A guided walking map of where to find specific filming locations would have made a world of difference. I had to scramble on my phone to look for directions for filming sites, wasting precious time. Also, don't expect a lunch stop or time, as there was NO time for lunch because we spent our time exploring the castles. I have booked several Viator tours and been very pleased but this one really let me down. I am awaiting on whether I will be refunded at least partially as I hope Viator stands by their commitment that we can book with confidence in the future.
We had a great tour to all the Outlander sites and out tour guide was extremely fun and knowledgeable about all things Outlander . My favorite stop was the location of Lollybrock in the show.
Our guide Tiegen was exceptional. Very knowledgeable on history of our tour. Enjoyed her job and was very enthusiastic
This experience was fantastic. Really got to see the places up close and explore the areas. Our Guide Fiona were great too, and made the tour even better. She was funny and knew tons about Outlander and about the history of Scotland.
This trip was fantastic. It was a last-minute decision, and I'm so glad I did it. Even if you're not a huge Outlander fan, it's worth it because you get to see several castles and some beautiful parts of the countryside. If you are an Outlander fan (as I am) it was truly awesome. Our guide, Esme, was fantastic. She was funny, earthy (but still respectful of the fact that there were children onboard), had plenty of comfort breaks, gave suggestions on where to go, and even walked us into the towns. One of the best guides I've had- and I've taken lots of these types of trips!
Loved Paul! Great fun and lots to see and learn. Highly recommend this tour. Very knowledgeable about all things Scotland.
It was a wonderful trip! We’ve seen many interesting places from the Outlander Series and that’s what we aspected, but the best was our Tour Guide Paul, who told us so many stories about the Scottish History, Habits and Culture, accompanied by Scottish music and Scottish sayings, those nine hours flew by in a flash. Absolutly fantastic!!!

Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are so delighted that you had a wonderful trip and that you enjoyed not just seeing the Outlander locations but had the chance to learn more in depth about Scotland from Paul and enjoy some Scottish music too. So happy that the day whizzed by and it was so fantastic. Kind regards, Louise
I had an absolutely fantastic time on the Haggis Adventures Outlander Filming Locations Tour! As an Outlander fan, this was one of the highlights of my trip to Scotland.
I have been on tours before where the guide was essentially just a driver getting you from one stop to the next, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised! Our guides, Allie (who was in training) and her fellow guide, made the day exceptional. The lead guide was a fabulous storyteller, and she shared so much about events and the history behind the filming locations, Scottish folklore, and fascinating local stories that brought each destination to life. Allie did a wonderful job as well, and together they created a fun, welcoming atmosphere.
The scenery was stunning, the itinerary was well planned, and there was a perfect balance of information, humor, and time to explore and take photos. It never felt rushed, and the passion the guides had for Scotland and its history really shone through.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Scotland. Whether you're a devoted Outlander fan or simply interested in Scottish history and beautiful landscapes, you'll have a memorable experience. This was so much more than a bus ride—it was a day of storytelling, history, and adventure, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it!
If you are an Outlander fan, and an History lover, you will not be disapointed. Steve our guide was great. He had a lot of cool informations about the places we went and was really interactive with us. I had a wonderful day 💙
Loved this tour and our guide! She was funny and knowledgeable. I learned so much history on this tour.
Great tour for Outlander fans. Our guide Wendy was great, she gave us lots of information about Scottish history and the places we visited. Definitely worth doing again if we should return to Scotland.
Laurie was great and funny. Highly recommend this day tour for Outlander fans and to see a bit of Scottish history
Wonderful for Outlander fans and non fans alike. The tour guide was exceptional. Kept us entertained and provided a great history of the country as we drove to each location. Ample time to wander around at each location. We even got a glimpse into Scottish music as we drove.
If you’re an “Outlander” fan, you’re going to LOVE this experience. Charlie was an amazing guide. Highly recommend.
It was a great experience , you see everything from Outlander . Our tour guide Allister was excellent .

Hello, we appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. We are very pleased that you had a great experience on the Outlander tour and enjoyed all that Alistair brought to the tour. Kind regards, Louise
Tour took us to 5 Outlander film sites. Laurie, our tour guide and driver was excellent - very informative and entertaining and kept us in time.
Great driver/guide, full of information and overall was a great experience. Got to see great pieces of pistory and locations that were used in Outlander
A must have for anyone who is obsessed about Outlander or Monty Python Holy Grail, an amazing all day experience, with an epic tour guide and driver (thanks Laurie!). Educational and fun at the same time. Paid for castle entrance, trust me it is worth doing. Saw and did so much more than we expected, now having to rest up. Thank you once again Laurie x
Laurie is an excellent tour guide for our Outlander Tour!! We had the best time at all the locations. She also shared some Scottish history, which was very informative. I would definitely recommend having her as your tour guide.
It's not a guided tour but our driver Cliff gave us such a lot of information as we travelled to the various places
We had a great day! Ryan P was so much fun. He was knowledgeable and entertaining. I was not an Outlander fan and went on the tour with friends that watch Outlander. I enjoyed the history about the locations.
We as a family really enjoyed this tour. For those who don’t know the Outlander story it’s still a great tour. Because you get to see historical Scottish landmarks and Castle ruins, and if you are an Outlander fan it’s fun to see some of the areas used in filming. Our guide Charlie was fun. She was knowledgeable and told great stories. The only thing I would suggest is perhaps a little more time for the lunch break. The local eateries in Culross can’t really handle the volume of people coming from the tours and it’s really hard to eat in the time provided.
We had a fantastic day! All of the locations were amazing, and our tour guide, Torva, was exceptional. He had a great deal of knowledge and was a great storyteller, and we loved the Outlander music during the ride!

Hello, thank you for your 5 star review for the Outlander tour. We are so glad you had a fun experience and that you found Torva to be exceptional, he really is the Outlander expert and the music played along the way adds to the experience. So happy that you enjoyed your day. Kind regards, Louise
Cliff was a wonderful guide and driver who was very up to date on Outlander trivia and told us tons of fun facts about the filming and the locations. As one location was being used currently for filming he took us to a very cool secret location not on the list that features heavily in Blood of my Blood which the production had just stopped using a week ago!
Recommend wearing hiking boots and dressing appropriately for weather. You will spend thirty minutes to an hour at each location and a good bit of that is outside. Bus/shuttle had USB port chargers and space overhead for a backpack. Try not to sit in the far back if you're prone to motion sickness!

Very interesting commentaries by Wendi on this tour and learned so much about Scottish history. Overall a lovely tour out and into various filming locations. Highly recommend especially if you’re an Outlander fan.
