I recommend the Hop On Hop Off bus experience for any city you visit. I have used it in 4 different European cities. The bus gives you a great orientation to the city, historical information and anecdotes, through ear buds, as you travel by the location. If you get the 48 hour ticket, it’s helpful for traveling to sights you may want to get off, visit and then hop back on to another location.

Ask about the additional route. It costs a little more to do both. We didn’t have time to do the other route by the time we found out about it but we definitely would have if we knew ahead of time. Great way to see the area. Sitting in the top area of the bus is recommended. Depending on weather of course.

The brochure at the front of the bus listed stops ending at #11 but the bus continued to #14 stops. It was confusing and made it hard to plan your trip. Although the bus driver did leave ample time for getting on and off and the recorded narration was very good besides being easy to use.

The hop on hop off bus was a great way to see the city and take a much needed walking break. We recommend booking the 24 hr pass which we didn’t do, but wished we did because the buses are a great way to get around the city at a low cost. You can plug into the guided tour and hear all about the landmarks as you pass them. It helps us get our bearings so we knew what we wanted to visit later. We loved this experience and would do it again.

Easy way to find some attractions in Edinburgh . We came off a cruise ship at Queensferry and took a bus to town . The hoho stop was convenient and staff extremely helpful . We took a round , walked the Golden mile and had lunch off Victoria street . Good value and no fuss

I was checking the app to see if the credit I had from a previous purchase would be deducted before purchasing and during this process the payment was taken from my card linked to the account. There are 3 different bus routes, each one traveling to see some different places, so over 2 days, we went on all 3 routes, and we loved it. On 2 of the busses, there was pre-recorded commentary and on one, we had a very interesting and entertaining Scottish man telling us about everything we were seeing. He had some funny stories to tell and really made for an educational ride. We loved the overview of Edinburgh so we knew what we wanted to go back to later and explore.

This is is a fabulous tour. Our tour guide and driver, Gary, was amazing and entertained us all day with his vast knowledge of Scottish history whilst also making it fun. By the end of the tour we felt like we had known Gary for years as he was just so friendly and helpful.
The Kelpies are just amazing as was our trip on Loch Lomond, which met all our expectations and more. We were delighted to meet the Hairy Coos and our stop for lunch in Callandar was really enjoyable before we went on to visit Stirling Castle.
We had a fabulous day out in the countryside and would highly recommend it.

We loved the Hop on/Hop off tour - a great way to get around to a bigger area without having to walk or take other transportation. Bonus getting to learn more about the areas we saw. The staff were all very helpful and the drivers friendly. The ear buds they provided were really comfortable (we used them on the flight home!). All in all, highly recommend as an option!
