There’s no better time to learn to surf than during your vacation in Portugal. Visit one of the city’s two best beaches for surfing—Guincho or Carcavelos—and get the basics down or improve your skills. If you’re new, learn to paddle out to sea, how to get up on your board, and how to balance, before catching some waves. For more experienced surfers, your instructor provides feedback on how to improve.

If you are coming from Lisbon, head to Cais do Sodré and take a beautiful train ride along the ocean. we decide were the waves are better only one or two before(when we can see the forecast): if Guincho beach,exit in Cascais, uber or bus to guincho if Carcavelos beach,exit at carcavelos station.

My teenager had an incredible surfing lesson in Cascais! The instructors were patient, knowledgeable, and made learning to surf a lot of fun. The waves were perfect for beginners, and she caught a few waves herself! She felt safe and supported throughout the experience. Highly recommend this lesson!

Highly recommend! Gustavo and Ricardo were so friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the whole experience. The beach was beautiful, and I was so happy to be riding the waves pretty consistently after learning from Gustavo in the small group setting. Would definitely love to go back!

Antonio was a great instructor who made it feel easy going. Everyone in the lesson got up on the surf board atleast a few times. I would recommend this surf lesson to all beginners looking to have some fun in the sun and learn to catch their first few waves!
