Thank you so much for your nice review! I’m really happy to hear that you had such a fun time at the Hungarian Cooking Class. It was a pleasure to cook together and share not only the recipes, but also stories about Hungarian food, traditions, and culture. It means a lot to me that you found the experience both enjoyable and informative. Preparing and tasting classic Hungarian dishes together—like Chicken Paprikas with homemade dumplings—is always a special part of the experience. Thank you for your recommendation, and I truly hope to welcome you again in Budapest for another hands-on culinary experience!

Sharing the stories behind Hungarian home cooking is a core part of my cooking class.

My Hungarian mother taught me to cook...

Judi M, Jun 2017
My Hungarian mother taught me to cook the foods of Hungary, but I was thrilled to learn new methods and new recipes in this class. We were able to choose our menu and we picked foods that were unfamiliar. The class was totally private - just my daughter and myself. We were picked up and driven to an elegant apartment converted to a cooking class location with a master chef kitchen and a comfortable dining room. We were greeted with wine and snacks as the cooking started. It was definitely hands-on for all steps. The menu can be adjusted for some food restrictions such as vegetarian and Kosher, but be aware that a lot of butter was used in our standard menu. We were given printed versions of all the recipes we prepared. Everything tasted delicious and I cannot wait to try out the recipes at home.

This day was great!! Marta picked us up at our hotel on time. We drove to the flat where our private cooking and dining experience. Not only was Marta patient with us, she shared so much information with us, both about cooking and her personal life. We had a blast. We would highly recommend this program!!

We had a great time in the Pixie Kitchen Marti and Gabor could not have been nicer to us. We learned how to cook Hungarian and took our skills back home to cook for our friends. We also got a glimpse into life in Budapest through a local's perspective, invaluable. A great evening of cooking, talking and, oh yes, eating delicious food we helped prepare. The highlight of our stay in Budapest!!!!

Superleuke en lekkere workshop

Martina_V, Apr 2025

Thank you so much for your lovely message! It was such a pleasure to have you both in the class, and I’m so happy you enjoyed the experience. I’m especially glad to hear that you’re already planning to cook the chicken paprikash at home—your kids are in for a treat! Wishing you all the best and hope to see you again someday in Budapest!
