Bartender was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. We had a really fun time and learned a lot. The three different sangrias we made were very generous. Would recommend to others. Great experience. Enjoyed the tapas and stayed after for dinner, a selection of delicious crepes. This was a good idea (since the drinks are strong.) One of the best things we did in Barcelona.

The favorite part of our trip. Great guy Alvaro. He’s very personable and we had great conversation. He taught us how to make 3 different sangrias. All super delicious! Afterwards, he served us some bread, meats and cheese. Delicious! Cozy bar! Must do while in Barcelona!

This was an amazing experience. Alvaro was an incredible host and explained everything about the Sangria and the history. We will be using our new education in the US for our friends and family to enjoy! Please visit his bar it is something very special. “Chulapio cocktails and Crepes” you won’t be disappointed!

My friend and I booked this amazing Sangria Masterclass and it didn't disappoint. We had a group of five and he provided knowledgeable details on the ratio of ingredients along with the history of Sangria recipes.

Great fun and learned a lot about making Sangria-will definitely allow us to up our game. Alvaro is a great teacher; his bar is a respite in an incredible city--totaly worth finding for tapas, crepes, and drinks.

A must! If you do nothing else in Barcelona do this Sangria class. It was fun, informative and delicious. We learned so much and had a great time. And the food after was amazing!! We made 3 differebt Sangrias and also received the recipes.

The class was fantastic! The bar has so much character and Alvaro was a great host, teacher, and bartender. We stayed for an extra drink after because we were having so much fun, and he gave us a very good dinner recommendation. Tip: he opens the bar right at the time the class starts, so don't be surprised to see it closed down if you show up 5-10 minutes early.

If you are traveling to Barcelona and looking to have a fun date night experience that you can bring home to friends and family, I cannot recommend this enough! Álvaro is so welcoming and easy to talk to. You feel like a friend the moment you walk through the door and you leave feeling like you cannot wait to come back. This experience shows you how to create 3 types of sangria that you make and drink as part of your evening with him. Through some comedy, history lessons, and friendly banter you navigate how to make a REAL sangria unlike anything we have ever tasted. This experience allowed us to learn that a real Sangria is a cocktail not just a fruity wine and we could not wait to get home to share this with friends and family. Álvaro makes you feel like a real friend and is so excited about his craft and sharing his love of real hand made cocktails. His drinks are amazing and the tapas to polish off the evening were excellent. We cannot thank him enough for such a wonderful and personal experience. Our next vist to Barcelona will include a visit to his place again! We cannot recommend this experience enough!

We has essentially a private sangria making class with Alvaro and it was a highlight of our trip. Cozy bar, great information exchanged, and delicious Sangria made. Alvaro is passionate about making great Sangria and shared his method. After the class we relaxed with some tapas and finished our Sangria — tinto, white, and cava. Plan on a cab home!! Will be back to visit on my next Barcelona trip!

This class was so much fun to take! Alvaro was so outgoing and fun and we learned so much! You make 3 different types of sangria and then end with some tapas to enjoy with the sangria you made. The bar is so cute and cozy that it is in, we wanted to stay the whole night! This was one of the most fun activities we did in Barcelona and would recommend it to anyone going!

What a great experience! Alvaro is friendly and knowledgeable and he makes you feel at home, in his beautiful and stylish bar/lounge. We learned about the history of Sangria, as well as the various ways it can be made. We made three Sangrias (red, white, and sparkling), the portions were generous, and the taste was the best we had ever had. We started the evening with a glass of Cava, and finished with a generous serving of meats, cheeses, and bread to enjoy with the Sangrias we had made ourselves.

The class was fascinating! The teacher is also the owner of the adorable bar where the class is held. The bar is a hidden gem! The recipe was delicious - much better than anticipated. We will definitely make sangria - the “real” way back home. It was lots of fun and well worth the price!

This class was absolutely awesome!!!!! We had a group of 8 and the small bar was closed for our sangria making class. We all participated in the preparation of three versions of Sangria- red, white and Cava! All were absolutely fabulous with our group voting for the sangria made with the Spanish Cava as our favorite! Light snacks were offered following the class! I can honestly say that this was the most personable, hands on experience I've had out of the many excursions/classes I've done while in Europe. The owner/bartender was friendly, engaging and knowledgeable!!!!! Would love to do it all over again!!!! Oh! We were all sent home with the sangria recipe to try later on our own!

If you think you know about Sangria, then think again. We have had Sangria in many parts of Spain but thanks to what we learned at this master class, we found out so much more about how to make the most fantastic version imaginable. Our host Alviro was just so very welcoming and the perfect host in every way. We left there with three fantastic recipes for Sangria which we look forward to showing these off to friends and family when we get home but we also look forward to our next visit to Chulapio. The vibe in this bar is just 100% perfect!!! Do not deprive yourself of this experience.

On a narrow side street in Barcelona you will find a gem of a neighborhood bar with its owner, Alvaro, excited to greet you and take you through his Masterclass in Sangria. The experience is limited to a group of 6 due to the space at the bar. Our group of 4 were the only reservation that evening so we felt we had a private event just for us. You will never taste a better Sangria than the one you will learn to make here! Alvaro did an incredible job walking us through the steps as we sliced fruit, learned about all the ingredients and wines, and prepared three different versions of Sangria. At the end of the class, we were treated to local tapas as Alvaro prepared the bar to open to the public. What an incredible experience for our adult family of four. When traveling with kids (early 20’s), it isn’t always easy to keep them engaged museum after museum. This experience was perfect to help make a memory of this trip that will last a lifetime! And for those of you reading this that live in the city, this is a great way to welcome any foreign friends visiting you in Barcelona! Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful evening with Alvero learning so much about Sangria and the basic recipe to make a perfect Sangria irrespective if you like Red wine, White wine of Cava (my favorite). Alvero is welcoming, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his vocation. We encourage all Sangria lovers to take this class.

Our host, Alvaro, was great. We ended up having a private class in the cozy bar. We made three versions of the sangria base - red wine, white wine, and cava. All were delicious. We then enjoyed the sangria with a light tapas and ordered a delicious dessert crepe. Such a fun experience. Highly recommend.

I can't say enough about how much my friend and I enjoyed this class. The evening we had booked he only had the two of us for the class so it was so much fun. His sangria recipes are amazing and powerful...you should eat something before you take the class. Let's just say I was extra jolly leaving after trying all 3 that we made. No way I could finish any of them, but I enjoyed every second of the class. Alvaro makes you feel so welcome from the start and the 3 of us had a blast just laughing and creating our sangrias. I can't wait to make a pitcher for my next party! Thank you Alvaro, you're the best!

This was a highlight of our trip! Alvaro was fantastic in accommodating a mixup in registration and I’m so grateful we were able to do the class. We loved his cosy bar, excellent conversation & insight into visiting Barcelona’s diverse neighbourhoods. The area is very residential. Don’t get there early. But the class was great! I can not wait to impress my friends back home with my new Cava Sangria making skills. The proprietor/instructor was knowledgeable, nice, great English, and easy on the eyes. I not only enjoyed the Sangria, but his Tapas were top notch as well.

Highly recommended. Álvaro was a great instructor and host. The ingredients were all fresh and the ‘off the book’ recipe guidance was extra helpful when I asked about several potential variations. The tapas that came with the experience were also top notch. Salud!
