This was a fun and informative tour. Simon our driver/guide provided information about New Zealand and what we would see along the drive. Hobbiton was amazing, it boosted the memories of LOR movies - so much that we have started to re-watch. Te Puia cultural park was informative about Māori cultural plus there’s a huge geyser and we saw 2 kiwi birds. Long by great day!

Love that Hobbiton sent you back to rewatch the films, that’s usually a good sign the visit hit the mark. And Te Puia offers something quite different again, from the geothermal activity to learning more about Māori culture. Seeing kiwi birds is always a bonus too.

We enjoyed our tour with Michael to Hobbiton. We have seen sets for movies before but you really feel like you are there when visiting. We also went to Te Puia which we enjoyed, but Hobbiton was the highlight.

We had Grant as our driver, we had such a wonderful experience. The day is long but worth the trip. We did hobbiton then geysers with cultural tour, kiwi house and hangi. Absolutely delicious and informative.

This tour was fantastic. We had a great tour guide (John) who was so professional and knowledgeable about the sites we were visiting, history of the region and also looked after all components of our day. His timing was impeccable and he was engaging and ensured everyone on the tour had a great day.

Our guide John was droll and gave us a lot of interesting information. We had a mixed group on board that became friends by the end of our long day. Hobbiton was a lovely experience and Te Puia was amazing! The geysers were incredible!! I’d do it all over again! Thank you to John for being a great guide!

An amazing experience. Always wanted to do the visit to Hobbiton and it didn’t disappoint. The sheer vastness and layout of this area with its “Props” was an eye opener.
Our tour guide through this area, Brad, was a delight with his quick wit, and knowledge of Hobbiton
Rotorua was also an incredible outing especially a better appreciation for the Māori culture, visit to the Geothermals and the kiwi bird sanctuary
Our driver throughout this tour , Grant, was also amazing with his outstanding knowledge and professionalism

It was an awesome tour. The highlight for me were the geysers, seeing them erupt so high into the air was amazing. The Hobbiton movie set was brilliant, the lush greenery and open space just loved. My only complaint was that the Hangi lunch was included in the price, however the tour events overlapped and they could not fit the lunch in. Viator needs to be aware of this so that better planning and coordination could be done. Our tour guide Michael did get us a sandwich as this was an all day tour and we were hungry, plus a small refund

The People at Hobbiton were absolutely wonderful and amazing! A person (not in our group) had a bit of a fall, and the staff did everything to help her out and made this our trip even better, by showing such compassion. The site is worth the 15,000 mile trip. Out Tour operators were knowledgeable, and very helpful. The Maori Culture Center is beautiful and amazing. Not well suited for people with mobility difficulties, but they made efforts to help. The unfortunate mishap was the Viator booked us for a Hangi luncheon (sort of the Maori version of a Hawaiian Luau) that didn't exist. Not the first miscommunication from Viator. Hobbiton and Te Puia were both wonderful!
