Great way to see Delphi

We had an awesome time on this tour with Alex. Alex was proactive with his communication, prompt to pick us up, and super friendly and informative throughout the tour. We did a lot of research before booking this tour, and in the end, we were glad that we planned to see Delphi like this. Having a private driver gave us more flexibility and a more tailored tour than a big bus tour. Also, if you are debating day trips from Athens, we would say Corinth and Delphi (this tour) are the musts if you like history! It's almost unbelievable to see a civilization that has such deep history - very memorable experience!

Delphi a must visit. Skip Thermopylae

The trip to Thermophylae alone is 2 hours so I had a lot of expectations from this section of this trip. What you get is a simple statue and a marker in the hill were supposedly "a battle" took place, that's it! You have to imagine the pass since supposedly the sea has receded farther away. Search for this on youtube and call it a pass on this one. Delphi on the other hand was something else. This is definitely worth visiting. We arrived early at 9:30 am so it wasn't crowded yet. But in a matter of a few minutes, the tour groups started coming in and was crowded by around 10:30 am.

Chris went above and beyond to keep us entertained—he even made a stop at the hot spring and treated us to some freshly picked local fruits. The lunch spot he chose was fantastic too. Amazing Trip and Incredible Guide

We booked the day trip to Thermopylae and Delphi from Athens for myself and my daughter. Our driver and guide, Alex, was absolutely amazing. This was our second trip with Alex as our tour guide (the first was the Corinth Day trip from Athens) and with each booking Alex went well above and beyond what was required. He was very very knowledgeable about the areas all along the trip to each location and the locations themselves. He was very personable and we really enjoyed talking with him and getting to know him. He was a great driver also, which for a long trip is a plus. He made reservations for us in Delphi for lunch and we had the most incredible view of the mountains and valley below. The vehicle was very clean and nice as well. I would highly recommend this company, this particular tour, and while I am sure all guide are equally as fantastic as Alex, I would highly recommend requesting Alex as your guide. 5 STARS.

Great Decision!

We made a great decision to use this tour company to pick us up from our cruise port, take us to Thermopylae and Delphi, and return us to our hotel in Athens. Our driver, although not a licensed tour guide, and unable to accompany us into the sites, was still extremely informative and told us almost everything that we needed to know before going inside. The car ride was extremely smooth and comfortable, and we did not feel hurried or rushed in the slightest. All in all, a great decision.

George was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed our day with him. Very interesting museums at Thermopylae and Delphi. The battle site helped put the history in context. Delphi was breathtaking. The drive was very scenic and the lunch at the Taverna was delicious and the view of the valley below was one of the most beautiful we saw on our trip. The staff paid very close attention to my severe food allergies, which is a plus.

Long day— worth it in a private car/suv

Dimitri and his brother took us to Thermopylae and Delphi. Lots of good information was given esp at Thermopylae since there is only a small museum with a short informational video and a room with interactive screens. I learned more from Dimitri. When it came to Delphi, we were dropped off to explore the museum and the ruins ourselves— which honestly was great to do at our own pace. So if you’re expecting a private tour at Delphi, you will not get one and will need to explore on your own. The suv was comfortable and great for the long drive. I would recommend this tour for someone who enjoys history and wants to avoid the large bus tours. For me, it was worth the price!

Worth Every Cent

Just transportation to and from Delphi with a stop en route at the site of the Battle of Thermopylae (even though the battleground itself is under some. 20 meters (66 feet) of earth). It is not a guided tour, but being able to explore the archaeological ruins and the Museum of Delphi on your own time makes the trip really worthwhile. The drive is long, several hours each way, and the route provides excellent samplings of the Greek landscape. Because of the length of the trip — 5-1/2 to 6 hours total, having a nice, engaging driver is very important. We really enjoyed the day trip to Delphi with Christos. He was terrific! Everything went very smoothly — which is very important for people who are new to Greece and don’t speak the language. Christos arrived on time and the trip went very smoothly. We really enjoyed talking with him and learning from him. We greatly appreciated the fact that Christos watched out for us each drop of the way, too, from when we were crossing a highway at Thermopylae to navigating in Delphi. He was attentive and cheerful throughout the day. In all, we had a wonderful trip, and much of the credit for that goes to Christos. The tour operator, Panos, also deserves mentions here. He contacted us and made sure that everything was well coördinated and on track. Our change of address (pick-up point) in Athens posed no problems whatsoever. It was handled easily and smoothly.

A wonderful day with Alex, our very personable and knowledgeable guide. The sites of Thermopylae, the monument to the brave Spartans and Thespians, and the hot springs were all treats. The stunning landscapes, mountains, valleys, and olive groves were described in loving detail by Alex. Delphi was an amazing site of picture perfect ruins with Alex’s excellent tales of the historic importance of it all. The Delphi museum was a great. We had a delicious lunch at a lovely taverna and enjoyed a quiet comfortable ride home. Perfect day.

The Oracle says you must go

First thing that has to be mentioned is I hope you all get Alex as your guide/driver - knowledgeable, conscientious, and passionate, we felt taken care of from beginning to end. The tour started with a pick-up at our hotel. We needed a bit more sleep from doing so much the day before so we requested a bit of nap time while we drove to Thermopylae. We woke up around Thebes and then Alex started with history about the areas we passed through including background on Greece's war with the Persians. The Thermopylae museum was disappointingly closed (there was a makeshift sign at the gate about being closed all of January 2024), but the surrounding area was fully open to stop and visit while Alex told us of Leonidas, his 300 Spartans, and 700 Thespians battling Xerxes and the Persians. On the way to Delphi we stopped at ancient hot springs that are still used today. Then at Delphi, Alex dropped us off to experience the site and its museum at our own pace. So much beauty and history to soak in. Afterwards, we opted not to stop at the intended lunch spot (we were not very hungry) and went straight to Arachova for coffee, baklava, and village charm. After Alex dropped us off at our hotel, I thought we were done with the experience, but I received a call from Alex that I left my sunglasses in the car and that he would bring them back to the hotel the next day! Alex simply exemplifies customer service at its best and I appreciate every accommodation to tailor the tour to our needs. Totally recommend this experience.

Wasted our time….

Driver is punctual and polite. ⭐️ Car is clean and driving is smooth (though abit slow). ⭐️ But we almost made the trip to Delphi for nothing. We arrive at Delphi near 2pm. Driver then asked if we want to wait to have lunch at bout 430pm after visiting the museum + archaeology site or have lunch first. My daughter was hungry so we chose to eat first. While waiting for the food to arrive at the nearby tavern, the driver came to us nervously and said the museum & site will be closed soon. He just learnt that during winter, they closed earlier and the last entry will be abt 3pm. Mad rush to finish the food, dash to go to site and we were the last visitor to enter at abt 3pm + and we have to exit in 30mins. Wasted our time and effort to go all the way to Delphi. He should know that the sites will be closed early for winter. We could have packed a snack or cut short our stay at Thermopyles. Shouldn’t have given us the option of having lunch first too coz after the long drive n lunch, every site in the vicinity were near closing hours. :(

We had a very good time on this tour. Alex was an excellent guide and driver, and the car was quite comfortable for the two of us, as we both require more leg room than average. Alex was informative, filling us in on the history and stories of places we passed, historical significance, and how daily life is affected by the areas we saw. He gave good directions at each place we stopped, and was quite accommodating to me, I was having mobility issues the day we took the tour. The scenery was beautiful, and the site itself was most definitely worth the trip. Overall we were definitely glad we took the trip. Alex gave us interested details and pointed out points of interest, especially around Thermopylae, where the terrain has changed since the time of the battle. I would definitely recommend this trip. As a nice touch, and a convenience, he had water waiting for us in the car, as well as in the trunk, so we didn't have to worry about bringing some with us. When we left Delphi, the site, he took us to a local taverna in the town of Delphi and made suggestions about the food, which we both found to be excellent. Alex made the tour easy and informative, and the sites themselves were fantastic.
