Excellent overall. I look back on it with such pleasure. Very glad we left Athens early.
We bought a super breakfast at Arachova from a local high quality bakery on the way.
Delphi was beautiful. Museum first, the site after that. We had two hours in total, which was fine. Make sure to have enough time left after visiting the museum as you want to climb up to the theatre and to the stadium. I think you need 1.15 hrs for outside.
On to Meteora. We visited Varlaam, absolutely beautiful, special memories, many really good quality souvenirs in the shop, a fantastic selection. We were lucky there was time to briefly visit a second monastery. The landscape is stunning.
I was so lucky with my wonderful travel companions too. Luxury mini Mercedes Bus. On to Thermopylae, very interesting.
Our wonderful travel guide and our chauffeur invited us to their Athens’ restaurant, which was included in the price of the trip, the owner was most hospitable and served gorgeous food in abundance. I was dropped off at the pickup location. A truly remarkable day.
I always make sure to have cat food with me, as, although most cats are looked after, there will be cats that need your attention.

Absolutely great experience with Ted. I learned more from my trip with him than from the museums. He was polite, efficient and extremely knowledgeable about every location. This trip is well worth the money for anyone who wants to really explore Greece.

We traveled with our 3-year-old, and Ted immediately put us at ease. He was warm, patient, and incredibly attentive, making sure we were comfortable every step of the way.
Since the places are spread quite far apart, getting to them could have felt long and tiring—especially with a young child. Instead, Ted made the journey engaging and memorable by sharing captivating stories about the history, culture, and significance of each place. His storytelling truly brought the sites to life and kept us all interested throughout.

He was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about Greek history and culture. George explained everything clearly and brought the ancient sites to life with fascinating stories and insights that made the experience truly memorable.

Busy day, especially with multiple road closures due to the farm strike. It meant we didn’t have time to visit both the museum and the ruins at Delphi (only one or the other), nor go in any of the monasteries. But it was exactly what we wanted out of a long day. Dallas, our local guide, was knowledgeable and kind.

This was an incredible day! We debated doing a 2 day or one day tour and given our limited time in Greece on this trip, the one day tour was perfect for us. Our driver was incredibly knowledgeable about Greek history and prepared us for everything we would see on the tour. We highly recommend Paddy. We loved our day trip from Athens! George went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed throughout the day. The van was comfortable and as advertised. The farmers had closed the highway, making it difficult to reach our destinations and adding travel time to our itinerary. George made sure we saw all of our destinations! I would highly recommend this tour. Keep in mind that the highway closure did double the travel time expected. We felt like it was still worth seeing.

It was a long day (the staff at our hotel were amazed--and skeptical--that the trip could be done), but it was not exhausting. We had plenty of time to see everything at each spectacular site, and our wonderful guide, Sebastian, filled the driving time with fascinating information about the history and culture of each. Just when we thought the day couldn't get any better, we had an amazing meal at To Vnoi. This experience is not to be missed!

This was the most amazing day at our Athens location. Meteora was breathtaking and worth the early morning pick-up for an entire day adventure. Sebastian was wonderful as a private guide, he made it easy to see all the sites and was very knowledgeable at all our stops. Dinner was great way to end the day.

I have been contacted by travel coordinator and got informed that due to not having enough participants, this tour has been cancelled and I will receive an confirmation and refund. That happened a day before my tour so I couldn't find a new one. And I haven't received a cancellation information from viator.

Dallas was a great driver and guide on a rainy, foggy day. We didn’t see as much as we would have liked but that was weather driven, not the tour. I received a message the day before to confirm logistics and Dallas was early to pick us up for the tour. Dallas took care to drop us off at points close to entrances due to the rain and was close by for pickup with umbrella ready.
Of the attractions visited, Thermopylae was the least impressive. The statue of Leonidas and a sign indicating a field as the archeological site was all there was to mark the battlegrounds. We were actually able to drive through the site and there were a few campers on-site as well.
Meteora and Delphi were more impressive, even in the rain and fog. My two cents for others - skip Thermopylae and spend more time at the other two sites.

Ted picked us up at our AirBNB on time and communicated well leading up to our adventure. His knowledge of the city and all sites was impeccable. He brought water and chips to snack on. If you are older or require other types of snacks, let your guide know I advanced, they will accommodate. Restrooms all along the drive, just ask them. Our guide Ted was always asking us if we needed to stop. He wanted us to be as comfortable as possible. We were fine with what we had and the ride was beautiful. Ted even made the drive out of the city look easy. Lol. The water they provided was a necessity with the temps.
Starting out, Ted made it a point to go to the closest point of journey (made for an amazing early morning hike) cinsidering the sun was not quite blazing. Delphi: Very inexpensive to enter, and cost included the Delphi ruins and Museum. GREAT morning shots of the valley with the sun coming up. Once the sun started moving completely overhead, it was time to go.
Meteora: The best part of the trip. We couldn't visit them all, but we wemt to St. Stephen's Monestary. Lots of steps and walking. I am scared of heights but the safety and security of the site and the stairs going up, made for an easier trek. It does get busy, but everyone was considerate of one another. Ted drove us to the entrance and stayed with the car. He gave us just under 2 hrs to walk the steps up to the Monsetary and see all it had to offer. Fantastic journey!
Thermopylae: Seeing the geographical location of where the King Leonidas and the Spartans fought Xerxes and his Army, added so much context to the historic event. Note: there isn't a lot other than a few memorial markers, but is the fact that the battle was THERE... and the orientation of this site to the water (or how much is has receded) is insane! Not a long stop, but absolutely worth the stop.
We made it back to the city where we enjoyed the meal prepared, of Gyros (pork and chicke), Greek salad, dollars, and Greek beer. Delicious!!

Long day but we had a great driver. We started in Meteora and that place is incredible. Lots of photo stops and then we selected one monastery to visit. It was gorgeous and the views were spectacular. The art in the chapel was breathtaking. Then we rode to Thermopylae. This is nothing impressive. They are building a museum but it’s just a field now and not really worth a stop. But then we went to Delphi and that was awesome. Great museum and then climbing through the ruins was magical. Our driver was patient and gave us insight along the way. The company reached out a few days ahead and we upgraded from a sedan to a small van. Great decision since the day is long. We stopped for breakfast and lunch on our own but a delicious Greek dinner with drinks was included. Food was bountiful and we enjoyed every minute of our 12-14 hour day. I hesitated because of how long it was but in the end I’m glad we went.

This is an excellent tour to see multiple sights in the same day! Sebastian was an excellent driver and was very knowledgeable about the sights and where to stop for the best photos. Meteora is an incredible sight not to be missed! We very much appreciated this tour combining multiple sights (Meteora, Thermopylae, Delphi) into one day as they are a couple hours apart, so not easy to see without a tour like this one. We would recommend this tour to others who want to see these sights and maximize their time in Greece!

I recommend this tour for anyone that wants to see the inland sights but have a limited time.
Our driver and guide was Stathis. He was absolutely amazing I give the tour 5 stars I Give Stathis 10 stars! He greeted us very promptly at 6am outside the front of the hotel. The car was very nice and clean. Stathis asked about breakfast being so early, hotel breakfast had not opened yet, so he recommended a bakery on the way for quick coffee and pastries. I don’t remember the name of the bakery but it was amazing. Stathis was extremely attentive to all of our needs on the way to Meteora, the first stop. On the way he gave us the history of the area and monasteries. When we made it to the first monastery, I had completely forgot to bring Euros with me. I had credit card and US dollars. The Monasteries only take Euros, Stathis saved our butts by fronting us his own cash to get for entry.
Our second stop was Thermopylae. Stathis gave us the whole history of the final battle of the 300 Spartans with visual printouts. (Talk about being prepared and professional!) Stathis volunteered to take several pictures of my wife and I throughout the trip. He never let us struggle with the selfies.
Our next stop was to Delphi. Stathis noticed that I had a real liking of King Leonidas. When on our way to Delphi, he made sure to explain the importance of the city to the history of Greece and King Leonidas. At the end of Delphi, Stathis brought me to the spring that Leonidas drank from before the war with the Persians.
It was so nice to see recognize your interest and incorporate them into the tour.
The dinner at the end was also an A+. All you can eat. I felt like I was at my grandma’s house being fed. Everything tasted great and every time we almost finished a plate it got refilled immediately.
From start to finish this tour ended up being about 13-14 hours.

Our tour guide was Dallas, an amazing Greek, we'll spoken in English who showed us an amazing day. Picked up at 6:30 a.m., we had an interesting and fun experience visiting sites within the greater Athens area. An impeccable Mercedes sedan, plenty of snacks and drinks, and stimulating conversation sparked by Dallas, a self taught historian, who is clearly engaged with Greek history, culture, and teaching, filled out our day of sight seeing. We concluded at a local "Taverna with good Greek food and drink finished a perfect day. 5 stars for Dallas, our guide, and alsoViator was top notch in addition.

This is the best tour to get the most out your time visiting Athens. You will see some of the most amazing views, visit some extraordinary sites rich in history, and accomplish in one day what would take you multiple trying it alone. Ted was a great guide. He was professional, knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and made the long day enjoyable. He never missed a beat and kept our energy up over the day. Wrapping up the tour with some great Greek food at a local spot was perfect. Can’t recommend this tour enough!

This private tour to Meteora, Delphi, and Thermopyles was absolutely incredible—easily one of the best travel experiences in Greece. The entire journey was smooth, well-organized, and thoughtfully curated. It is a full 12 hour day tour, so our comfort was prioritized by Paddy, our driver.
Our guide was great! He is knowledgeable about Greek history and mythology, engaging in conversation, and always attentive to our comfort and interests. Each stop felt immersive and meaningful. Meteora’s cliff-top monasteries were jaw-dropping in person, with views that no photo can truly capture. Delphi was rich with ancient energy and beauty, and standing at the historic site of Thermopyles brought history to life.
Traveling privately made all the difference. The pace was relaxed and we were able to fully enjoy each location without feeling rushed. The vehicle was clean and comfortable, and we appreciated the care taken by Paddy at every step of the way.
